He isn't real.

Everything can be explained away through science. Most people who say this man appeared to them within their subconscious visions tend to leave out the fact that they already had prior knowledge on him through posts on the internet. Whenever you already have an image of that dark, benevolent, noire entity in your head, your brain forms him into "reality" whenever you're going through a terrifying hallucinogenic experience such as sleep paralysis or when you're tripping on DPH.

These things are powerless. Conjured up by the brain. Fear something real. Fear the God above us. Save yourself for Him.

Wrong. I saw him back in the mid '70s. I was quite shocked when I saw people talking about the Hat Man some 15 years ago here for the first time, blown away, because I hadn't talked about my experience to people so it confirmed this being's independent existence (as I'd assumed was the case since the beginning).

I even saw him in a doorway as he's often portrayed, too, hat and all.

    Sucks to be you.

Yeah same here in the early 90s or late 80s.
Never heard of such a thing then and always told myself it must have been a bear lol. Sighting was outside, at night. Distinctly remember the hat and coat. Coat flapping in the wind. I couldn’t rationalize those things. But I was so skeptical of paranormal things I just had to chalk it up to mistaken identification. Also I had never seen a bear in person either, but where I live was very rural and wooded so it wasn’t uncommon for adults to see them and warn neighbors. But then I heard about this and as hard as it is to accept Hatman, I need to ask myself if that isn’t exactly what I saw.
Ironically, where I saw it always gave me an unsettled feeling before and after.
      Anyway, no cultural contamination here.

    > This one started out as Truth in Television. From the 1920s through the '50s, a trenchcoat and a fedora were the standard outerwear for a man who was neither upper-class nor extreme lower-class. Consequently, they were the natural choice for spies, detectives and anyone wanting to blend in with the added bonus of easily concealing weapons. But when this style fell out of fashion with the general public, it came to be exclusively associated with said spies and detectives – whose continued use of this look would ironically make them more conspicuous if anyone were paying attention.

Hat Man, Flannel Man, Bigfoot, Werewolf, Moth Man, Grey Alien..... they're all friends and hang out together. They are observers and judges who transcend time and space. One of them might be outside your house right now, in the treeline, looking through your windows, recording every sin

I think the reason people see a supposed "hat man" is because they are afraid of tripping in the first place.

I didnt had prior knowledge about him, and yes it's real.

And seeing him is like realizing you are a mosquito in a spider web and the spider is looking directly at you.

It triggers a fight or flight response unlike anything in the world can't even be explained the level of dread it causes.

Saw it as a kid, and saw it last year's summer, It took something out of my chest, part of my soul? i went in for a bite, and it instantly vanished as soon as I could move, but I realised I just woke up and it was morning. Since then I've felt changed, less brave, less strong, qualities I've struggled to recover over the last year, and also I can't sleep anymore without a light.

What i can recall was it sucking out a blue ball of light out of my chest before disappearing.
Quite spoopy to be honest, i wonder what triggers these kinds of attacks, i was in a really stressful time of my life, probably the most mentally stressful, i felt a lot of responsibility on my back and felt as if i didn't do enough despite pushing myself at the hardest.
Also i felt like my mental health was deteriorating really fast and hard during that time.

Maybe they prey on the vulnerable?
Thinking about it, it feels like there's a hole in my chest that's been filled with fear, a year ago that hole was way bigger now as time goes by it's getting smaller and smaller, maybe my soul is healing back the stolen piece?

    >Everything can be explained away through science.
Cowardly take, those who fear the unknown insist that nothing can exist beyond their knowledge. I saw him as a kid in the early 90s, I didn't even know anyone who had ever been on the internet then.

      Maybe paranormal is best called
pre-science? As in it isn’t known yet or outside current science purview.
