Same as most AEW PPVs. You'll be able to pick up seats between $0 and $1 on the day of the PPV. Then AEWtists will wonder why their sold out show looks like pic related.
Do you not understand how Scalping works? The scalpers ain't gonna be on the show. When it flops, they have to sell it for less than the ticket originally was, even though that's the opposite of what they wanted to do. That's why it's so satisfying to see them get fucked like this
This, scalpers are getting fucked because it's very difficult to determine demand for some of these shows. Some very early AEW shows were also overbought, because it was a brand new company and it was unclear what kind of numbers they could pull. Similarly, the Punk return show was overbought because it was an extremely unique circumstance. While scalpers have an idea of demand for normal shows and PPVs, the demand for a cross-promotion event is hard to predict.

Scalpers would have long since learned their lesson. This has been happening for the last two years now. It's Tony buying a load of his own tickets to guarantee an instant sellout, then they all get dumped onto the secondary market for a few dollars in the run up to the show.

They did learn their lesson with typical shows, but greed overrides cautiousness when a big "unknown" like a cross-promotional event occurs.

Scalpers got paid out big at Double or Nothing, though. They assumed it'd be the same here.

Scalpers do not repeatedly buy tons of tickets for the same show in the same town and then give tickets away for 9 dollars, 1 dollar or even 0 dollars. Giving cheap tickets or free tickets not only loses you money, it fucks up your own scalping business as people then get the idea that they can just wait and get auper cheap or free tickets. This has happened many times and many promoters, including boxing promoters have been documented as buying their own tickets to create buzz and / or re-sell at higher prices at first to get around fair trade laws which restrict ticket costs. AEW have many VIP seats which were never available on the pre-sale and only popped up on the 'secondary market' at higher prices, and this show was announced as a sell-out when the pre-sale only had a fraction of the tickets available. Signs point to them buying their own tickets, and the best argument presented to the contrary is 'You don't know the scalping business, they purposefully pay then give tickets away for free over and over again', but reality says that they don't, they stand outside the venue until the last minute trying to sell them, they have nothing to gain by giving them away for free, they only lose more by fucking their own market.

it's pretty well documented that Tony Khan buys his own tickets to claim sell outs. It's classic money mark behavior.

This is admittedly a subject I'm not very well versed on, and I'd love you to be right because it'd more shitposting material against Tony and this trannies, but to put it bluntly, I don't believe you at your word and it seems easy for me to assume that it's just dumb scalpers getting fucked.
If you have someone with any renown whatsoever (Fuck, even Jim Cornette) talking about how this is obviously Tony doing it or something like that, I'd appreciate it.

This is the least likely outcome. They don't make the same mistake again and again and again. AEW repeatedly has a LOT of tickets going cheap on the secondary market for big shows because Tony buys up his own seats.

No, scalpers buy tickets at full price then give them away for free or for a dollar a week or more before the show, you don't know how scalping works. This is their business.

It's not like it's always the same scalpers. And it has paid off for them before. It's basically a gamble.
Scalpers have always been stupid. We've had many "Scalpers getting fucked" threads on /asp/ before AEW existed.

You're clearly trying to damage control and push a rhetoric while avoiding points or questions like why they would give away free tickets ahead of the show. Please just don't waste the time of people who might seriously respond to you.

Try searching it yourself? >Floyd Mayweather, Mayweather Promotions, boxing executive Al Haymon and eight others have been sued for nearly $6 million over ticket sales from Mayweather's exhibition bout vs. Logan Paul in June of last year. >Mayweather and Haymon are accused of improperly profiting from the scam, they do not appear to have dealt personally with Englanoff in the alleged conversion of the $1.4 million investment made through Englanoff's company. However, the lawsuit shines an unflattering light on a hidden industry where tickets to live boxing events are resold to fans at prices well above face value with fans receiving little opportunity to purchase at the listed price.
Or look up how Viagogo, Stubhub and other sites work.

I just think you're falling into an easy narrative to make fun of Tony that does not actually reflect reality. Again, scalpers have eaten shit before AEW was a thing. You saying "BUT HOW DO THEY KEEP FALLING FOR IT?" does not reflect the fact that scalpers aren't an hivemind and that there's multiple of them doing their thing AND that they've been successful in price gouging tickets from AEW before.

Yeah, you're right, every big show having tickets for free on secondary sales is just the scalping business. They aren't a hivemind and it is all different people but they all buy tickets then give them away for free. Thanks for the unbiased opinion, really changed my view on the matter
He doesn't want to risk not getting the instant sell out, and all the dirtsheets reporting that demand is low. He's desperate to make it seem like every AEW ticket is red hot.
You guys try this rhetoric for every big aew show and you're always wrong and it ends up being a packed house, aren't you sick of being humiliated yet?
>seats behind the stage are going for cheap >OH NO NO NO! AEW IS FINISHED!
Must be sad being a consolewarfag. Might buy some cheap seats though if its better than ops seating
It's not the first time he's done it for a major show. He knows there's no organic demand. It's just one of the many things that AEWtists have to cope about.

Lmao, yeah I think everyone understands what's happened when AEW's tickets are on sale for $0 and fucking no one wants them. That pissant company couldn't draw flies to shit.
I decided to take a break from this board for a while and when you're away from it for a while, it's actually kind of startling to click on a thread and see people trying to convince themselves that obstructed view tickets going slowly for a show that already sold 15k is a sign of the end times.

They literally did this for CM Phil's debut. $3 the week leading up, £0 on the day. Khan is literally scalping his own tickets.
He doesn't want to risk not getting the instant sell out, and all the dirtsheets reporting that demand is low. He's desperate to make it seem like every AEW ticket is red hot.

These were released not too long ago. It’ll say on the ticket if it’s original or resold.
They can’t give tickets away but they expect people to pay 50 bucks to watch it online.
