Hamlet did nothing wrong and his so-called "madness" over his father's murder was natural and justified.

Only sane take. There seems to be a recent trend in scholarship to vindicate Gertrude by implying Hamlet is only upset about her actions for Oedipal reasons which I find particularly bizarre.

I remember a claim that Hamlet was just pissed because Gertrude's hasty marriage denied Hamlet kingship, and there are no Oedipal feelings involved.

As explicitly stated in the play that it‘s an abhorrent disrespect to Hamlet‘s father and the marriage between them. What are you, retarded?

Oedipal would imply rivalry between Hamlet and his father.

Hamlet's madness isn't because his hate of his uncle the murderer isn't justified, but rather because he has no actual evidence for the murder. We, the audience know that Claudius is completely guilty, but Hamlet only has the word of his father's ghost (which he, as a dutiful protestant, is obliged to doubt and suspect to be a demon or a trick of his own mind).

Hamlet is a cautionary tale of attempting to enter into Vratacharya before one has attained proper heat on the path of application, like the namthar of Krishnacharya
