The only thing EVs have is straight line acceleration, and it comes at the cost of the computer logging the event so insurance companies hear about it, dramatically heating the battery, and causing significant wear to the drive motors.

You can watch a 300 mile range EV turn into a 80 mile range EV just by doing high speeds for a couple minutes. Especially if you're doing turns and have to decel/accelerate often.

same thing happens with any other car. you get 30 mpg when cruising, but get 8mpg at WOT.
8mpg with an 18 gallon tank is still 140 miles of range.
