no one other than p4k was calling it a masterpiece. Pitchfork, a website known for very accurate reviews based on merit. It had many fans but no one was actually calling it a 10/10 album
Pitchfork gave it an 8.7, and changed it to a 10 in response to it growing in status, they didn't generate it

Listen to it until that dude’s voice is writing new songs in your head. Then it’ll be clear.
What makes this album stand out to me is how close it is to being really bad. His voice is one inch away from being grating, but he keeps it reigned in just enough. It’s never bad even a little.
The titular song has an excellent melody. If it were arranged differently and had a more listener-friendly singer it could be a bona fide hit.
If nothing else it’s a bunch of music that cannot be done justice by other musicians. It only can really be pulled of by them/him, and that’s a pretty rare place to be.
