If I were a bystander, saw these two gentlemen do this, I would tell the police that the motorcyclist was assaulted by the doorcuck and that these fine upstanding gentlemen prevented a murder from taking place and that I would testify in a court of law as a primary witness that they did nothing wrong.

I actually cut a line last week via the left turn lane and jumped back into main traffic (that was sitting still) about a car or 2 before the light. The guy I guess I "cut" in front of (who had left about a car and a half of space), proceeds to tailgate me for a couple blocks.
Finally, rolling up to next light and he pulls up super fast next to me and just stares me down. Get a little closer to the light, and he turns and drives away. LOL, dude looked like pic related. He was also driving a Tesla to make shit even funnier.

here when two lanes merge into one and there's no lane divider up to the end of the merge, vehicles legally need to give way to the outside lane to zipper merge.but in any case, why ruin a good zipper merge if it's been going so well?
few weeks ago everyone was zipper merging perfectly and continuing with it i merged in front of a lexus that i thought was part of the whole thing.
but even though i was still maintaining my speed while also slowly moving over i see the guy immediately try speeding up before laying on the horn

There is only 1 state in the U.S. where this is legal. And it's a mistake.
The bike is moving between two lanes and presenting a dangerous situation that motorists are unlikely to be able to predict. The bike is putting himself at risk of people changing lanes without seeing him, clipping a vehicle in the midst of a lane change, preventing others from changing lanes, and yes, striking vehicles with things sticking out farther than normal (doors open and tow mirrors).
The rules of the road are a little different in traffic, people change lanes often trying to get into one that's moving, and they are more willing to open their doors if the traffic has stopped completely.
It creates an exceptionally unpredictable environment that the biker assumes is just two rows of cars sitting there.
There is nothing unsafe about bikers sitting in traffic, they just found a way to cut through it faster because they can fit between the cars and the dipshits in California codified it into law

Traffic is completely stopped, it's not uncommon at all for someone to get out and either see if they can spot the issue or simply stretch their legs.
