Feminism Blah Blah Politics something Sexual Harassment

Do men in general (not just the ones who browse /misc/) like this kind of treatment or is this an unrealistic depiction?
I personally appreciate it whenever guys (or people in general) compliment my appearance and such, but apparently that's not true w/ most people. Is this one of those things where women pretend to experience something for attention (e.g. rape) or do they actually dislike it?

      Ahahahahaha the kekes.
I actually tell my wife whenever I get catcalled. She likes it because she wants me in shape and knows that i only take it as a motivation to stay as the man she always knew.
Even gays, I give thanks and say that I know my side, and if they throw the "How do you know if you disnt try" I always throw the "Hey man lets go swimming in a pool of shit and rancid milk and each time we steoke, we gulp a mouthfull" and when they look like im fricking insane, i comfirm it and say "How do you know if you never tried it?" and I always got keks in back because at the end of the day gays are dudes and have actual sense of humor.

        >at the end of the day gays are dudes and have actual sense of humor
Sometimes, I find homosexuals to be easier to deal than women IRL.
They are more understanding if you don't have social skills, surprisingly.
homosexuals only want sex. If you are straightforward and say no to them, they will bark to another tree. Women? Nope. They are truly obsessed with social games and socialization. No means yes, yes means no, maybe means right now, right now means Instagram.
Women wither and die without socialization. They are hypersocial by nature.

its also a common trope that men hide the fact they are simply having fun with their friends, because c**ts dont have close friends they drink beer with and do tom foolery with.
      >shhhhhh its my gf. everyone be quiet for a minute.

Nah, there would still have to be some women doing it for it to be equivalent since women like the top 20% of men and those top 20% are still going to be giving a woman attention. So it'd be more even if you had a bunch of women AND a bunch of Indian men. I think the guy would just be happy that some women complimented him and ignore the Indian men.

't make them think I want sex
Problem here is a catch 22. Men are getting treated so shitty and are so attention starved that the brain latches onto anything in hopes for companionship and more like an addict on relapse. The only way to fix it is for them to get more of the attention that causes this knee-jerk reaction. It can be mitigated in group settings though, if multiple people are saying the same thing.

Honestly? Non-exclusivity. Men are attention-starved, kind of like an abuse victim where any positive reaction is latched on to as a sign of love. Like it's bad, it's not just a female thing, usually when a guy compliments a guy that man will be beaming for the entire day as well. Just guys are afraid to do that too ofc because society deems it insta-gay half the time. To fix that, it might not be applicable in every social scenario but if you compliment multiple guys so that they know then it will register that your compliment was just genuine and not coming on to him specifically.

This also doesn't make it physically related. A lot of guys mistake that for sexual interest. However, if you compliment their skill or something they won't likely make that connection.

I've had all of these things said to me, especially the last one (it's always middle aged and older ladies).
Am I actually somewhat attractive? That's what that means, right?

Older women are more honest and open about displaying interest. Basically, they say aloud what other younger women are often thinking.

          1. Don't
They probably won't think you want to frick them, but a low self esteem guy can easily become infatuated with a decent looking woman who is nice to them.

          2. But if you do, be the type of person who they know to give compliments easily.

It's bad if you give a man a fake compliment, the high impact will cause him confusion and pain as he has to readjust back to reality throughout following encounters. Giving him a real, personal compliment is even worse. Either he's going to suspect you're trying to lure you into a cult or steal from him, or he's going to believe it and obsess over you, one of the few rare sources of real compliments he's come across in this world.

There's a reason why people don't give men compliments, it's because it's a fricking mean thing to do. Unless you're his mother or father, then it's ok, but that's the only people who compliment men.

You want to give a man a complex? Compliment something ultra specific about him. "I like your nostrils." "You have a nice walk." Etc.
The whole reason m'ladies wear fedora hats is that they wore a hat once and got one compliment and then kept wearing it hoping for lightning to strike twice.
The reason women dye their hair ostentatious colors is because it turns necks instinctively, in the same way their youthful appearances used to turn necks. They subconsciously know the surreptitious looks are absent so when they finally try a desperate change they get the reaction they want and keep it up.

you can't. it's just the way it is unfortunately. due to the norm being that it's extremely rare for a woman to compliment a guy unless she likes him, it's very difficult and awkward to compliment most dudes if you're a girl.

One exception is if the woman is in some position of authority where compliments and feedback are expected. For example, let's say that she's teaching some kind of fitness class. If one of her students exhibits an improvement in their form or performance, then a congratulatory compliment is reasonable.

As other anons have said, you're probably better off not doing it because its such a mind frick as a man to get a compliment that you can't help but start to wonder what the woman's motivations are. For most men, the default assumption is "she must be into me...why else would she do that?"

Example: I was riding my bike down a local trail and when i passed a women going the opposite direction and she smiled/waved at me--it was a total mindfrick. I alternated between thoughts of "does she know me from somewhere" and "is she into me or something". Admittedly, the last thought in my head which was the most likely case, is that she's just being friendly.

People who see this comic and think that it's SO TRUE! have 0 empathy and are unable to understand sexual dynamics. It's the same reason why female nudity is harmless and no one will really be grossed out but if a man gets naked in public he's automatically breaking a few laws and mentally scarring some children.

    >Do men in general (not just the ones who browse /misc/) like this kind of treatment or is this an unrealistic depiction?
Men generally like compliments. They might wonder if there's some kind of catch, like how highschool girls will pretend to like an unpopular boy as part of a bullying strategy etc, but guys will never feel patronised by it in the way women often say they feel in response to minor compliments from men.
    >Is this one of those things where women pretend to experience something for attention (e.g. rape) or do they actually dislike it?
I get the impression that it's something feminists train women to dislike as a way to drive a wedge between men and women and exacerbate the gender conflict they thrive on. I suspect that in the absence of feminist conditioning most women like compliments from the other sex similar to how most men do. There might be subtle differences though. An x/10 man typically receives much less positive attention from the opposite sex than an x/10 woman, so compliments might feel more impactful to men due to the relative scarcity of positive attention. The nature of any suspicion would likely be different too. Boys don't typically bully unpopular girls by pretending to like them and then making a fool of them in front of their classmates if they take the bait etc so women aren't on guard for this. On the other hand women do tend to be on guard for "players", so they might be suspicious that compliments are just a way to seduce them.

I was walking around with a friend and in the throngs of people, I make eye contact with a chubby brunette with glasses. She locks eyes with me, so I just give her a sincere smile and a nod. She comes to a dead stop and does this awkward, "h-hi!" and does this, (admittedly very cute) smile and bounce "thing". I dont stop, but i return the greeting as we pass. Before I could stop to tell him to get fricked he said "cheer up mate, you'll be alright" and slapped me on the shoulder as he walked past. And I don't mind getting flirty statements from old women cuz they're usually joking and it's just an old lady thing, but sometimes it bothers me how they feel their age and the fact it's obvious they aren't trying to hook up (I think that's why anyway) gives them the right to get handsy with me. I only have this problem with old women. They'll touch you on the shoulders and back, and if I've been working out, they'll even feel my muscles without asking.

Women have no clue the emotional void men live in. We had a workshop at work a while back. During the group discussion, encouragement was brought up and we were asked how often we get a positive comment or praise for our work. The women typically reported a positive word from someone daily. The men almost never. The women were stunned at that, a few commenting how horrid they would feel if they were never complimented for their work.
    Yeah, welcome to our reality.
Picrel is a book a lesbian wrote about the emotional void men live in even. She masqueraded as a man and what was hardest for her was the absolute self-dependence and lack of connection she experienced.

Yeah, men would hate it if boob shelf lady complimented them on their computer repair skills. Anything but that!

    Who cares what women think?
