FACT: The reason this dominates the market and your favorite browser doesn't is because it does only what is asked for and nothing else.
All other browsers have unbearable levels of feature creep.
>Wanna use Firefox?
Gotta disable Pocket, Mozilla Sync, make your own stylesheet because the UI is terrible. Oh and did I mention that using this sometimes breaks sites?
>Wanna use Edge?
Sure thing bro, just make sure you disable all the Microsoft crap including all the bloat on the home page that lags your computer and gives you 20 popups. And of course, switch the search engine from Bing to Google, because that shit sucks.
>Wanna use Brave?
It just werks!..... after you've disabled crypto, removed all the BAT crap off the toolbar/new tab page/yada yada yada.
>Wanna use Safari?
Bro! You're using the *new* Google Chrome installer as a browser?
Hate it or love it, Chrome does what it's told and is what people expect. It's a browser that just werks out of the box without wasting your time, and is incredibly fast. All other browsers overwhelm their user with features, including Edge (which is literally designed for normies). Even techies use this thing because they know they get features before anyone else does, because Google owns chromium.
If a browser wants to beat Google, it needs to beat them at their own game. Sadly everyone who is rich enough to do that doesn't, and everyone who is competent enough doesn't have the budget to pull it off.
More like because it's pre installed on phones and used to be decent on PC. I switched to Firefox immediately after they announced Manivest 3 and it's way better, especially on phone.
>immediately after they announced Manivest 3
So in 2014?
On mac safari does exactly that, which is also why most of the macfags I know do not switch to chrome
those are also the sane fags that don't have a password manager and remember their one shitty pass for wll their websites.
Safari has had a password manager for longer than Chrome has.
>it does only what is asked for and nothing else.
Elinks does that. Chrome does a ton of shit I definitely didn't ask for.
>does what its told
Do people tell it to sell all of its data to the cia, nsa and fbi? Do people tell it to monitor everything you do at any moment in time?
FACT: Chrome is bloat
tell me how you did this
id unironically daily drive templeOS
you can unironically go fuck yourself
Its simplicity was a big factor, yes. I can't understand how microsoft still hasn't figured this out.
No, the reason why is because Opera shot itself in the foot with a nuke and got CHROMED so it became redundant.
Opera was one of the few exceptions I was willing to make to my "free as in freedom only" rule and then they committed suicide.
This. Way better than Firefox and chrome before they switched to blink
time is ticking. pic related
>No, the reason why is because Opera shot itself in the foot with a nuke and got CHROMED so it became redundant.
it became redundant because the project was sold to the chinese. that is the only reason why everyone abandoned it.
The reason this browser dominates is because they shoved it down people's throats on mobile and laptops, just like MS does with Edge
fuckoff israelitegle cocksucker
At least all the other web browsers allow me to turn off and disable shit, Chrome doesn't. And is not fast, in fact, I've seen many instances where Chrome is slower than vanilla Edge.
Also, that shit consumes RAM like there's no tomorrow doing nothing, I already run Windows so I don't need another resources waste.
>, I've seen many instances where Chrome is slower than vanilla Edge.
who cares? they still own you,
