For the wallet, I strongly recommend either Hermes or Smythson. Specifically Hermes’ Epsom leather or Smythson’s Panama leather because they’re more rigid and hard-wearing.

      • Anonymous says:

thanks. hermes seems a bit feminine for me. will look into smythson. how would you rank lv and montblanc wallets?

i need something with a coin purse, ideally in similar dimensions to my current one, which is limitiny my options.

it’s called a tespih in Turkish. You can search for them on ebay or kleinanzeigen if you’d like to buy within Germany.

this one specifically is oltu stone with silver inlays along with blue and red enamel inlays that mimick corral and turquoise. i have many others made from different types of wood, bone, horn, amber and gemstones. good luck.

If you go to locally owned leather shops they usually have real leather wallets without any branding which is great. I got mine for $15 and it’s the best quality leather wallet I’ve ever gotten, plenty of options too.

my current wallet is serving me well. looking to upgrade to a luxury wallet. hard to trust an independent leather guy with it.

looks good, but i need a coin pouch in europe.

i think i would be happy with a montblanc, but they just don’t have a model that suit me.

better quality leather and stiching. can even be in exotic leather such as croco or ostrich.

please don’t insist on this "anything expensive is for idiots, i’m so smart for being frugal" spiel. spend that energy towards increasing your income and gaining some taste.

This is pure cope. There’s a difference between a quality version of a thing and paying ten times the price of something because it came out of some Italian’s asshole.

I think one of the stupidest habits the western world has is to try and justify expensive purchases as "pragmatic". Because god forbid you spend money on something you just want to have, without any practical reason to buy it.
When Anon says "better stitching", that’s really just a defensive mechanism, trying to legitimize a personal choice that doesn’t need legitimizing. No, just because you spend $1000 doesn’t mean it’s automatically more durable. So why not just say "I’ve got the money, I can buy what I want. Money isn’t wasted if the product I buy brings me joy"?

Anon, whatever you buy, the choice is only stupid if it negatively affects your life. I mean, I’ve spent ridiculous amounts of money on Nazi memorabilia, just because I enjoy the aesthetics and can only ever achieve an erection while imagining myself as a guard at Auschwitz while wearing my SS uniform. That stuff just brings me joy. I have to pragmatic justification for it, and that’s fine.

can you share some nice slingbags or small messenger bags? i’m looking for something where i can fit a Kindle or physical book, glasses case, bundled shopping bag, mobile phone, wallet, keys, a few other random things. ideally with at least 1 safe pocket, and 1 easy-access pocket, and rectangle shape rather than square shape. basically something for on-the-go in the city, which is easy to carry.

currently checking some of the Helikon or Nitecore stuff, i lean towards the Nitecore SLB02, but would like to see some other options before deciding. a bit annoyed that they only have black bags, but otherwise seems to have everything i need.

NTA, but you have no idea what you’re talking about. amps and dacs are a solved problem in audio, there are countless options that are audibly transparent, measurably better, smaller, and cheaper than that POS. Any dac/amp over ~$200 is just consoomerism. I understand that this is a huge consoomer board, but with audio you aren’t even getting the brand value unlike fashion. Its Shure, not Gucci – nobody cares.

            >Any dac/amp over ~$200 is just consoomerism.

I need a dac that has balanced left/right output and plays flacs at a 24bit depth.

I challenge you to find a dac below $1000 that does that.

          • Anonymous says:

I struggle to even find a dac/amp that DOESN’T do that in the current year.

Really depends on what you are looking for But
Nitecore EDC27 is a pretty cool Slim light flat light
Olight i5T Plus CW is a decent one Slim and fairly long
Nitecore Tip SE Is a small keychain like Flashlight all around decent small very small light
Nitecore TIP 2 Is title Bigger then the SE

I currently carry Olight S2R Baton 2 and have for a while now and its a lovely light, The "bulb" does get little warmer after some time running it so Taping it red for "red" light won’t really work but is a lovely light, really right and lasts AGES, Ive also been carrying a Nitecore TINI (the original one) for a really really long time now and its and amazing little light.

Bigest plus for Olight is that you can switch the batteries as you wish

Biggest minus is that they might blow up… Havant experienced it or head from friends anything regarding that but there ware some reports of the battery going little boom

I loved my slim clip. It was the most functional, slimmest, easiest wallet I’ve ever used. But I upgraded to an expensive Hermes wallet because I’m cucked and want to be perceived as having taste. I used to not give a heck about how others perceive me, but as I’ve gotten older, there’s more mounting pressure to be seen as "respectable." If I used a slim clip now, I’d feel like a silly billy…. but when I was young, it was great.
