Dogshit fucking app completely deteriorated in every aspect in the last 3 years.
It can't recommend me a new fucking song to save it's fucking life. Just the same shit over and over again.
The "Song Radio" feature which used to recc some similar stuff to a song you like now just creates a playlist of songs you often listen to, literally just a reshuffle of your "Liked" library. Retarded fucking code monkeys chasing statistics and user retention instead of making their service actually usable.
Fuck this shit, I'm moving to youtube music. The youtube recommendation algo has always been excelent anyways. This is a good excuse to make the switch forever.
Fuck Spotify. I would celebrate the day it goes bankrupt.
picks for you
>It's mostly the same shit since 2019
>using spotify for recs
>not just using it to easily stream whatever latest album fantano reviewed

>streaming anything fagtano reviews

Spotify refuses to play any song until i like it so i switched to tidal
>tidal
>GoldenSound then successfully passed the MQA encoding validation step by hiding test signals added to music, such as white noise, an impulse response, a square wave, a 32-tone test signal and the RMAA test sequence interspersed with self-produced music. He uploaded a 44.1 kHz version and an 88.2 kHz version, which exceeded the encoder parameters meant to allow MQA processing with no audible loss, distortions or compression. After comparing the original test file to the MQA encoded one, it was shown that the MQA-encoded versions uploaded to Tidal had distorted many of the test signals and, on the 88.2 kHz version, had added high-frequency noise to the entire file.
OK so no streaming service is good
they've mostly gotten rid of mqa.
>listen to albums you like
>add songs to playlist
>put on playlist when you can’t decide what to listen to
It really is so fucking simple to find your own music, you know that right?
>dude just make playlists bro
Normie leave
>normie
>he only listens to full albums all the time
God I can’t believe I used to think like this.
YT music is great. If I could find a way to mobile scrobble with it I’d go back in a heartbeat.
>If I could find a way to mobile scrobble with it
pano scrobbler or literally any other scrobbling app?
unless you're an iToddler
>unless you have sex and aren't a failed chudcel
>iToddler coping about the fact he doesn't even own a real phone
classic
NTA but anyone in the real world doesn’t care what kind of phone you have these days. He clearly baited your stupid asses though.
>anyone in the real world doesn’t care what kind of phone you have these days
*sends green text*
yeah, actually people do care
No, they don’t. It’s a dumb meme. Leave your house.
HAHAHAHAHHAA
he needs to buy a certain brand of phone just to have sex, imagine that
only in America
true in Korea too
cope
women everywhere are getting retarded
the closest thing I have to this for myself is i don't date women who use too much tik tok
>WOW A SMALL SUBSET OF WOMEN PREFER MEN WITH MORE EXPENSIVE THINGS AND STATUS SYMBOLS WHOAAA THAT MEANS I CANT GET LAID CAUSE OF MY PHONE WAAAAH 🙁
Go outside retard.
>N-NOOOOOOOOOO I-IT ACKSHUALLY COSTS THE SAME OR EVEN MORE THAN THE IPHONE WOMEN OWE ME SEX ME ME ME ME ME
you are fucking retarded
That's just a Korean way to say "I don't date Korean men" since they all suck on Samsung's cock so hard
Read between the lines people
>iToddler
you again
dumb esls
>God I can’t believe I used to think like this.
>I need to scrobble
You're getting there, bud
The fuck is wrong with wanting to keep track of what you listen to?
obsessively scrobbling isnt much better than obsessively listening to full albums
>obsessively scrobbling
scrobbling is completely automatic and in the background retard, it's just as obsessive as signing up for an email account once. do you think people are manually inputting each recorded track like rating an album on RYM lmao
>zoomie problem thread
lmfao
>buys digital masters of songs on plastic discs for $40
whoa so much better trust me!
yeah i'm thinking of switching to YT music, it has decent autoplay and contains more songs. might be because i've been listening to music on youtube since my childhood so the algorithm knows what to recommend. the spotify algorithm just makes me hate the songs I love by recommending them 50 times a day.
>Retarded fucking code monkeys chasing statistics and user retention instead of making their service actually usable.
this. this has been fucking up every big application for the last 3 years. muh statistics, every app wants to be fucking tiktok and getting comically greedy. FUCK codemonkeys FUCK greedy fat fucks and lastly FUCK the chinese companies that started this bullshit
I can't believe I caved and paid to get rid of the ads. I still have my Sandisk mp3 player and sometimes I want to go back to that.
Stop listening to whatever an algorithm drip feeds you. You are like a pig at a trough. People like you are the reason art is going to stagnate for the forseeable future
YouTube is the best but a lot of people don't use it to release new stuff properly due to spotifys dominance.
99.9% of what's on spotify is released simultaneously on youtube music and any other streaming service by the record label
what are you talking about
spotify will go the way of last fm by the end of the decade, mark my words
they sponsor Barcelona, that's everything you need to know
>Spotify sucks thread
>oh this is gonna be good I think in my head
>first line is "It can't recommend me a new fucking song!!!"
I was right guys, it was gonna be good kek
to be fair the way spotify actually works is retarded
they should literally just have a massive "new song" button and be done with it
I agree with you one hundo percent. All the good shit is on YouTube these days, it's not like you can listen to this golden razzmatazz magic on the green lines app.
congrats i finally listened to (half of) your shitty song
This thread is now about the best albums you can't find on spotify
?si=EADimdV400aANvdx
srsly why isn't this album on Spotify. There's other albums by The Feelies on there, but not this one.
Spotify is great for obscure classical recordings and not much else but it is pretty convenient
>want to switch services
>have to pay some additional 3rd party service to transfer all your shit for you
fuck off
What an awful thread, who let the zoomies in?
>What an awful thread, who let the zoomies in?
>he doesn't pirate his music to prevent corporations and millionaires from making money off him
You better be living in the woods not paying the salaries of mayors or governors, not giving money to utility companies, not paying rent to a landlord, and using free wifi off the mcdonalds
>Fuck Spotify
you coulda just said that. I'm in total disbelief that anyone ever got into Spotify. Bad for artists, bad for fans.
>Kills music as a business in your path
Good thing passionate musicians won't stop making music, effectively filtering all the trend-chasers and celebrity wannabes
god it's so fun being a fucking normie sometimes. i can just go on about my day enjoying music, making playlists, having playlists auto-created for me while i hum along the street. then there's anon seething about spotify for the nth time today on LULZchannel.
hay guize remebr pandora? 🙂
It honestly blows my mind for a billion dollar company how fucking GARBAGE it is. I thought my phone or headset was causing it to randomly exit and start a new podcast - nope, I replaced both.
The video functionality is total dogshit, and it doesn't accurately remember video time/place across devices so then I have to sit there like a fucking neanderthal scrubbing back in forth figuring out where I was at in a 4 hour podcast.
Spotify is fucking awful. Apple music isn't much better.
All "algorithms" have turned to shit. It just always ends up being a loop where you are recommended the same shit all over again.
It have ruined all of their official playlists, every damn time it's just the same songs you already have listened to a lot. No more can you open up a playlist and find songs that you like but haven't listened to in a while, because the damn ""algorithm"" just fit every damn playlists to match songs you have heard in the last year or so.
You are better off trying to find playlists made by real people.
And of course, the real answers is to just continue listen to full albums.
I just don't like how Spotify works where it tries to make you a "sound profile" but only ends up recommending shit you already know about.
The best parts about the service are:
>Identical catalog to Deezer, meaning you can use it with SMLoadr
>Includes OG and remastered versions of many albums side by side
>Global charts sorted by country allowing anyone to get a non-Western perspective
I might sound facetious with that last one but you would not believe how hard it is to just get a feel for what people in, say, Indonesia or Turkey are listening to. Just having the option is great.
This is why if you are on YouTube, you should set your watch history to "pause" so that it just shows you related videos and nothing else. Same for the search function, clear it out often so it'll stop using that as an indicator of what you're like.
Another thing about youtube, their search function is also straight up ass. I'm tired of it suddenly showing "recommendations" when I'm searching for something completely different. No you fucking muppets, I don't want to watch the dog shit videos you want to force me.
I'm listening to Spotify right now. It's pretty good
>I'm moving to
buy
an
ad.
Spotify is such a bad product and they scam artists too, they're gonna go bankrupt any day now. No, I'm not shorting a single share but trust me, they're done for.
Dude the most mind boggling shit with spotify is how the 'liked songs' dont get added to your library correctly half the time, and when you 'like' an artist or an album it doesn't 'like' all the songs in it to add it to your 'liked songs' list
it's so fucking mind boggling lmao, and hard to sort through a large library
what the fuck happened to the simple ass iPod style of organization?
>Artists
>Albums
>Songs
It is seriously retarded. There are so many albums I've liked but that just goes to a 'saved albums' list and it doesn't add the songs to my 'liked songs' list which is where all the shit you've downloaded live
I cant take it anymore lmao
>Dude the most mind boggling shit with spotify is how the 'liked songs' dont get added to your library correctly half the time
God I fucking hate that so much. I mainly use my own downloaded library, but I have been using Spotify for John Zorn and Keith Jarrett since they both have massive discographies and a lot of the stuff is hard to find. I have several albums in particular I want to listen to so I add the to my liked or favorited categories. 1 or 2 days later, they often don't save.
Absolutely absurd how companies mega rich still manage to produce buggy services. This is just a streaming site, not a massively complicated AAA video game.
>Go to library
>Go to "Artists"
>It only shows you Artists you've "Followed", not artists whose songs you've liked and downloaded
>You just want to see all the artists you have their songs downloaded
>It will never show you this
Bravo spotify, holy fuck
The fact that it does this insane logic also for Albums truly makes me thing this thing was designed by psychotics
Like how the fuck do they EXPECT you to use the service?
When I download a fucking song, it's because I want to add it to my library. And then later I want to be able to sort my library at the artist, album, and song level. Why the FUCK isn't that possible?
no way are you serious?
spotifyfags is that really how it works?
You can SORT your Liked Songs by Artist by using the 'Sort' button next to the search bar in the top right, but yes you cannot view all your Liked Songs at the 'Artist Level' if that makes sense. I have no fucking idea why it is like that.
I think it's because they assume that you'll access all your music via text searching for specifically what you are looking for. Which is bullshit, because a lot of the time I scroll through my library to find what im in the mood for
Zoomers
Return to locally hosting your music
POV: You've clicked on "delete playlist" five times.
Spotify sounds like shit. Apple Lossless for the win
