does LULZ still go to shows? what was your last show and how was it?
I've been to an underground rave, a few free jazz shows, and a small fest this summer, not counting the various local acts at the club near me

apparently not
last show was brainbombs
went to 2 raves this summer. one of them had a really terrible sound system
just bought tickets to boiler room, lrj bukem and slowdive
Last one i went to that i recall, was sometime late last year
Pub gig, a band was promoting their new album. The frontman actually taught my mate guitar a few years back at high school, saw him after the show and chatted/got a pic
One of the members of the audience was actually another reasonably well known local guy, ordered a pint next to him which was kinda funny. Small world really, its NZ after all
oh yeah forgot I got to see The Veldt at a very small dive by me. that was a great show and there was a sick local jazz punk band that opened for them
love these kind of sets the most, when you actually get to connect with someone over a drink after the music ends.
that festival I went to was only 20 minutes from my place with maybe 2-3 thousand attendees and was still a huge pain in the ass. giant lines to nasty portable toilets, terribly expensive yet trashy booze, retards on drugs everywhere you look, trash scattered around the grass every 5 feet. it's a low point of humanity and everyone knows it
Saw the foo fighters at a festival. Pretty pricey but they killed it, aside from Dave's voice aging a bit.
>Poo Fuckers
LULZ really is just 12 year olds and reddit refugees at this point
So what show did you go to buddy
Most recent show was Tim Heidecker who blew me away. It’s not like his band does anything out of the box, but I went into it 50/50 on whether it would be complete shit and they ended up being really good. Saw Fleet Foxes before that and they were great, before that saw Dead and Co which I’m not a big Grateful Dead fan and it didn’t convert me but it was certainly an experience, the amount of hippies was insane. Last year I caught some great shows Parquet Courts, AnCo, Godspeed, Black Midi with BCNR, Smashing Pumpkins and Melt-Banana.
last show i went to was the cure
i dont go to many shows anymore because im poor and even when i do have money i dont feel like driving into the city for an hour 20 minute set
Saw Dreamsonic in Boston a couple months ago, which had Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, and Animals As Leaders. Townsend killed it, Animals As Leaders were very good (who knew an instrumental djent act would be the second loudest band I've ever seen), and Dream Theater were good but not as good as EVERY SINGLE person whose ever been to a Dream Theater concert hype it up to be.
Based, Bob really came through with those price adjustments. Shirts were only $25
i went to just like heaven a few months ago and saw mgmt, yeah yeah yeahs, empire of the sun, ladytron, strfckr, cults, and a few others. probably will catch ladytron again later this year. got brian jonestown massacre and death grips shows coming up shortly, looking forward to that, summer's been real boring.
>Animals As Leaders were very good (who knew an instrumental djent act would be the second loudest band I've ever seen)
lol i got tinnitus at an animals show
oh and a buddy is dragging me to switchfoot since the beautiful letdown was like our middle school album as young christfags
i want to but i am shy especially my local music scene they are a bunch of shmucks but i do wish i could be friends with the schmucks
yeah my hometown was the same, the same homosexuals ruining the vibe at every show possible. millennial emo revival fags btw, they are disgusting
godspeed and safe travels anon
i go to ween shows once a year
I’m about to fly out to see them in NY and RI but just found out the guy I was gonna crash with has to leave town for an emergency. Gonna have to sleep in the bus station and airport but it will be worth it.
Saw a protomartyr show back in may, they killed it and their new album is great. Joe Casey is the worlds best car insurance salesman vocalist.
zoomers dont know how to act at concerts, I don't know what it is but they have no etiquette. I seen a gaggle of them rip out one of those balloon people thing and throw it up on the stage
what is the proper etiquette for a concert
t. zoomer who wants to learn
If you're on this board asking this question then you probably don't need to be told. Act like a fucking human being, don't talk during songs, don't scream "hilarious" at the frontman in between songs, you are not funny or original and you will not be young for long.
the big one: FUCKING TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
DRINK WATER, EAT FOOD, QUIT FUCKING PASSING OUT AND INTERRUPTING THE SHOW. People have always passed out at shows but there's a fucking epidemic post-lockdown of Zoomers waiting for hours in the sun to be up front (read: to show their tiktok/insta followers they were up front), not being prepared for what that entails, and passing out in the middle of shows. Normally when someone passes out you see the people around them help them to the medical tent but for some FUCKING REASON it has now become commonplace for zoomers to shine their phone lights at the stage to get the band to stop the show and point out the incident to the medics. This happened 3 fucking times at Big Thief in Berkeley and I did some reading and found out it's been happening at Phoebe Bridgers and Mitski shows too.
wow lmao didnt know passing out was such an issue thanks for the tip
saw Unto Others 3 saturdays ago, and then Metallica the night before that. both fucking excellent. Metallica keeps getting better every time i see them
last show was joeyy. next is boris and melvins
>last show was joeyy
fucking disgusting. leave my thread right fucking now
just got back from a natural information society set. mindblowing stuff, I've been wanting to see them for years
>what was your last show and how was it?
saw jimmy eat world and manchester orchestra. israelite were a bucket list band that i just had to see before they call it quits and they killed it. they’re a band who like to throw it back to the old stuff for the fans, thank god. they played three songs from clarity (for me this is heaven, lucky denver mint, blister)
i hadn’t listened to manchester orchestra since simple math came out and they totally won me over. they sounded way heavier and cooler live. andy hull is a great vocalist
last show: Bailter Space. Small-ish, intimate venue, decent set, forgettable openers.
favorite show this year: Unwound in Olympia. Justin sang "asshole on fire/my soul, white" during Swan. 10/10
Went to see Trivium recently. The show was fantastic but I got covid, and it's taken ages to get over it
I only go to see my wives in the flesh. I also saw Horsegirl recently.
Dead and Company, a metal festival, and a shit ton of little local stuff
