Does LULZ change their own oil?

    >take your car for an oil change
    >cheap bulk oil
    >cheap bulk filters (assuming they even change it)
    >overtightened and/or stripped drain plug
    >damage from car not being lifted at the correct lift points
    >oil and grease all over the paint and interior
I never ever let a fucking grease monkey touch my car. I swear to god the idiots working at oil change places are on the same intelligence level of the idiots working at Autozone.

      Also this.

And fuck letting the Stealer change my oil, too. Jokers.

Go on YouTube to see what it is, they have. A bunch of bullshit "special" tools that they use to justify upcharging for oil changes

I changed it myself and it's even easier than my MX5, mainly thanks to the oil filter design. It sits at the top of the engine in it's own little housing, making it really easy to change and quite mess free. Shimming the valves is quite awkward and probably around 700ish thanks to labour time, but general maintenance is fucking piss easy on the S54 and other M5x engines.

this, I had an M54 and own an S54, they're fairly easy to work on even for someone who never wrenched in their life before (me)

      >t. too poor to afford an extra $15 over the cost of materials to have someone else drain his car's septic tank

Your post is pure cope. No one recommends going to the cheapest Jiffy Lube hole in the wall shop. An oil change is a great opportunity for a reputable, verified mechanic to put a second pair of eyes on everything and potentially spot a problem or soon-to-be-problem you may have missed before it causes more expensive damage.

Climbing under a car on jack stands to get a used engine oil septic tank bukkake is the most 3rd world thing I've ever heard. Are you even legal, Paco?

        >An oil change is a great opportunity for a reputable, verified mechanic
lmao, your "reputable" shop has Jorge in the back who came off the last biden bus from guatamala do it.

        >put a second pair of eyes on everything and potentially spot a problem or soon-to-be-problem you may have missed before it causes more expensive damage
lmao imagine thinking this is true. imagine being too much of a wrenchlet to be able to spot problems that are damaging your car

          >lmao, your "reputable" shop has Jorge in the back who came off the last biden bus from guatamala do it.

False. I go to based shops that let me inspect my car while it's up on the lift and it's always handled by a huwhite person.

          >lmao imagine thinking this is true. imagine being too much of a wrenchlet to be able to spot problems that are damaging your car

Imagine thinking you will do a better job than someone that has seen hundreds if not thousands of your model of car to instinctively spot issues you didn't even know were common. I used to do video game console repair back in the day and by the time the customer finished describing the problem I was already taking it apart with two hands holding screwdrivers and knew exactly what was wrong. A good mechanic, keyword GOOD, will do the same.

More poor cope, post bank account so I can laugh at the negative balance with accruing fees.

holy shit, wrenchlet cope. your """reputable""" mechanic has 23 more oil changes to do by lunch so he isn't looking at shit, nor is he taking the time to do it right. imagine being such a wrenchlet cuck you have to have a real man come in to work on your car for you lmao

Your poor is showing so hard I can't even fathom it. I don't think you've ever even seen a real mechanic before. Do you live in Guatemala or something?

lmao, keep coping, wrenchlet. don't worry, if you can keep scraping up the cash, you can keep hiring a real man to do the masculine tasks you're unable to accomplish. maybe ask your wife's bull for a raise in allowance?

Most shops have subhuman shitskins working in them and I don't want them touching or sitting in my car or having access to my keys and address. I have a garage with a four post lift and can do my own preventative maintenance. Also, if you're getting bukkaked doing your oil change, you're doing it wrong you stupid homosexual.

Well congratulations, that's literally what I described. If I had the same, I'd also do my own oil changes. If you want to spot me like a million dollars to afford a house that's not a complete piece of shit where I live, then I'll do the same.

Sorry, I don't want a 2 hour commute for the "privilege" of draining one of the nastiest substances that can come out of a non-organic thing.

If you live in Austin, it is. Since when do houses cost a million dollars in Texas? When I lived in McAllen, you could but a super nice mcmansion with a 3 car garage for around $200-300k.

It was the rings, not the PCV, retard. It was after I replaced the whole PCV system that it started really started burning, and I sold it about a week after doing the o2 pilot mod, so never got the benefits.

Yes, kitty. I do. It costs $6 per quart and I need 5 total while the oem filter is $6-ish (and made in Japan) too.
It’s easy to do but takes an hour or two while I get to know it’s been done correctly.

Yeah. I recently moved to a new town where the garbage company takes your used oil at the curb. Just gotta pour it into milk jugs. It's so fucking convenient.

Why do I always worry I'll fuck it up somehow? Like adding to much or too little oil even when I know it's 4.9 qts, or lifting at the wrong spot and fucking up the underneath. Am I being irrational from inexperience?

      >Am I being irrational from inexperience?
      yea just relax

You will make dumb mistakes no matter your experience level, having experience just makes it slightly less common. As for over or under filling, I always like to stop around 500ml short, then start adding 100ml or so whilst double checking the dip stick. Autistic and takes a while, yes, but makes getting it spot on a lot easier.

Is it really going to mess up your engine if you go a little over or under though?

no, just stay within the range

I thought you were supposed to read the oil when it's warm? Was that a meme I fell for

              Anonymous

Not exactly a meme, but If you check the oil immediately after driving then some of your oil will still be in the top half of the engine and it'll read lower on the dipstick than what is actually present. Just check it after it's been sat a few hours and you'll be fine.

          Anonymous

I'd say 1-2mm over the full mark is fine, obviously slightly below full is perfectly fine, but I'd be far more worried about under filling than over filling. If the oil level is anywhere near the low mark then top that shit up. You can always drain if there's too much, but too little might cost you an engine.

But just do it, it may seem daunting at first, but so long as you follow a decent video (ChrisFix or what have you) then I'll be impressed if you manage to fuck it up.

I used to, but there's no publicly accessible place to do it now, it's just more hassle than its worth.
But I do other maintenance that's easy to do on the street like filters and spark plugs.

What makes you think some random guy working at a quick oil change garage cares about your car, or will do a better job than you?

  6. 3 months ago

of course, what else am I going to run my garage heater on

  7. 3 months ago

Yeah. It lets me autistically measure how much oil I put in down to the last ML, plus I get to determine which oil and filter I should use after also autistically spending hours lurking the bobistheoilguy forums along with others depending on the car. Additives with lots of moly in them such as MOS2 now get thrown in every single one of my cars, too.
