Is Djent + Trap the new norm for brutal metal?
Yes zoomers are unironic retards who kind of like nu-djent metal, phonk, and trap, what do you want anyone to say?
Do you want them to stop because even with exposure to new music they refuse to stop being retards with shit taste.
Based, cringe, cringe.
Only riffs matter. That and music from your ethnicity.
>anyone who doesn't like what I grew up with either hasn't heard what I heard, or just has shit taste
I can't wait for Gen x and millennials to die
>I can't wait for Gen x and millennials to die
that wont happen cause we will solve death before millennials die
your taste is inferior, get over it zoomer
You’ll be an old man before millennials die because we are one generation apart lmao
No, he was pointing out that your generation is retarded because you listen to
>nu-djent metal, phonk, and trap
Has nothing to do with what we liked growing up, or what we currently like. What you like is just objectively shit. Why are you fags incapable of taking an opinion from older people at face value? Imagine we're in a vacuum and age doesn't exist.
>Why are you fags incapable of taking an opinion from older people at face value?
That's pretty rich, considering very often it's older people who can't handle younger ones disagreeing with them even after having listened to the same things. You like what you like because you were exposed to it in your formative years, so it defined your taste.
>imagine if we lived in an alternate realit-
Massive cope from a weak willed homosexual
>That's pretty rich, considering very often it's older people who can't handle younger ones disagreeing with them even after having listened to the same things.
I could just as easily swap the order of "older" and "younger" in that sentence and create my own anecdotal experience that's more or less true for a lot of people.
>Massive cope from a weak willed homosexual
Right. Just accept your place as the punching bag of demographic age groups, zoom zoom.
>I could just as easily swap the order of "older" and "younger"
Making my exact point towards your previous post right back at me after I already demonstrated awareness of it won't help your argument, especially considering trying it from your angle only brings us right back around to the importance of being young when being exposed to music.
>Just accept your place as the punching bag
Because it angers and frustrates you that there are people who will not share your opinion even after they've experienced the same things that gave your younger self happiness. Your generation will not be missed.
>ou like what you like because you were exposed to it in your formative years, so it defined your taste.
Except I literally listen to dozens of bands that consist of exclusively zoomers. It's not an age thing at all, there was plenty of dogshit music that was popular during every generation, like how Gen X had Limp Bizkit.
And my point is the newer era of music has some qualities that are good as well, despite the fact that they may contain none of the things that cater to the tastes of older generations, especially where metal is concerned.
>And my point is the newer era of music has some qualities that are good as well
yeah, it does, but not in those genres lmao.
>but not in those genres lmao.
Is that why newer metal bands have so much traction with the younger crowd?
>despite the fact that they may contain none of the things that cater to the tastes of older generations
>Is that why newer metal bands have so much traction with the younger crowd?
No, that's just due to shit taste, like how Korn drew traction with xoomers, or how AC/DC had traction with boomers.
>everything I don't like is shit taste
That doesn't explain gen x and boomer hatred for music like spawn of possession or inferi.
>everything I don't like is shit taste
That's not what I said. Reading comprehension, little fella.
>That's not what I said.
You immediately jumped to the mindset of "must be lowest common denominator" crap which is the lowest hanging fruit. I know what you said.
>You immediately jumped to the mindset of "must be lowest common denominator" crap
Because it is lowest common denominator music. That doesn't mean anything I don't like is shit taste, obviously. I'm not much a fan of Beethoven's 5th, but if someone considered it their favorite piece I would respect that opinion, unlike with djent or trap.
>I know what you said.
No, you made up what I said.
>Because it is lowest common denominator music.
Yes, you mentioned specific examples of lowest common denominator music so of course I'm going to say that's what you said while arguing that you're still taking the wrong appoach while you jump around and try to avoid the issue.
>Yes, you mentioned specific examples of lowest common denominator music
Yeah, I mentioned lowest common denominator music from non-zoomer generations to demonstrate that it's not an age issue. That doesn't mean I think anything I don't like is shit taste, like you incorrectly claimed.
And I'm saying it's not an issue of lowest common denominator music
>it's not an issue of lowest common denominator music
Of course it is.
Lowest hanging fruit. I already mentioned two bands that don't fall into that category but you're too lazy to do the legwork
Whatever you need to tell yourself, scooter.
See no evil hear no evil, right?
You too, gramps :^)
>gramps
My library of zoomer musicians is extremely large, so I'm not sure that this tracks. I probably listen to a wider variety of current gen music than you do, in all honesty.
>library of zoomer musicians is extremely large, so I'm not sure that this tracks. I probably listen to a wider variety
I have yet to meet a single person who doesn't say this about themselves. The lack of awareness is truly astounding.
>I have yet to meet a single person who doesn't say this about themselves.
You made this up, obviously, but for me it really is the case.
Nope, it's the most cliche and overused term I encounter when I meet new people. It's like most people just never discuss music with others and are completely oblivious to how common and natural it is for people to want to enjoy a wide variety of music.
I mean, I have nearly 200 albums from the past 5 years in my spotify library. I know you're lying about """everyone""" saying this, but even if it were the case, it's actually true for me.
Whatever you need to tell yourself, scooter.
I'm guessing you don't even have 200 albums on rotation in total across your entire library.
Most of the music I listen to doesn't even come in album format, and that's not relevant anyway. Try asking people what music they "like" as opposed to anything specific and it will be the same answer every time. Unless you routinely interact with the lowest common denominator I guess.
>Most of the music I listen to doesn't even come in album format
This honestly tells me everything I need to know.
That I'm a classical snob? Or were you thinking that I just leave on a shuffle Playlist of top 40 hits in the background?
>That I'm a classical snob?
Classical is frequently available in album format, so I already ruled that out.
>Or were you thinking that I just leave on a shuffle Playlist of top 40 hits in the background?
No, I assumed you just put on random shitty genre playlists. Not knowing any albums is hilarious for someone who pretends to listen to a lot of music.
>I assumed you just put on random shitty genre playlists.
i dont listen to playlists at all. i dont use spotify either because of the shitty sound quality.
>Not knowing any albums is hilarious
once again arguing in bad faith. you think you've successfully shifted the argument away from the uncomfortable topic of you not being able to resist only arguing in terms of the lowest common denominator because you cant stop yourself from only attacking the theoretical lowest hanging fruit, whether or not its actually the case.
i already mentioned two metal bands, one of which only has three albums, and you're still avoiding them.
also you seem upset at the possibility that you aren't special for listening to a "wide variety of music".
and all this ignoring that you're the only one who sees it as a competition.
>i already mentioned two metal bands
Not to me you haven't. You're probably confusing me with someone else.
>My library of zoomer musicians is extremely large, so I'm not sure that this tracks.
this a pretty convincing way of linking the two stages of this discussion up to this point. but if this is how you want to concede, be my guest.
There's good zoomer music out there, like Black Midi. no one who listens to djent or trap is worth taking seriously, irrespective of which generation they're from.
This 2bh
Wrong
>nu-djent
has djent even been around long enough for there to be a "nu-djent"
you guys sound like a bunch of half dead boomers
Yes.
My taste is much better than yours because I say it.
You can keep liking NPC garbage like Mick Gordon or become based and sovlfvl and listen to The Beatles, specially Paul's songs.
or you can do both
What am I allowed to listen to?
Don't take these people seriously anon. This is how it has always been. Whatever is the new generation, the older generation will say your music is shit. After all music is opinion.
Same thing as the world keeps getting worse ect.
I think if you can connect with the energy of a song there is nothing wrong with liking it. I used to think I was into Numetal or something, but I found that it really depends on my mood.
Besides, is there an thing more subjective than music taste?
newfag retard
baby prease kill yourself
zoomers listen to polyphia anon, I'm sorry.
>My taste is much better than yours because I say it.
I despise burzoom and black metal too.
>I despise burzoom and black metal too.
Ok Go whorship Mick Gordon on Twitter !
I'll keep listening to my kino
it's good music
idc if it's "djent/trap" or whatever
mfs act like metal needs to have the same tired aesthetic from the 80's, i love metallica and sabbath but it's 2022 and those bands are 40-60 years old
>le music it's bad because.... it's old and out of fashion!
Just remember zoomers, chances are le wrong generation thrash kids are the ones making these posts so, don't take them seriously.
kids always loved their ebin breakdowns
remember metalcore?
So no one is going to talk about how Bethesda fucked him over?
I wish he retires from music
I turned the in game music off and instead blasted Anaal Nathrakhs entire discography while playing and it made a 7/10 game into 9
It's good in the gameplay, like how it increases in intensity with the combat
Chad Mossholder's music is actually legit industrial. Mick Gordon likes shitty industrial metal like KMFDM and 3Teeth (whom he worked with). I had no stake in the whole Doom OST fiasco, but after reading about both sides I looked into both's music and came to the conclusion that even if Bethesda are a shit company, Chad himself deserves no hate for the finished product. When compared to the albums on his bandcamp, it's obvious the dude was rushed and in all actuality, knows how to produce properly. Otherwise, Mick is probably a smoothbrained retard who doesn't understand noise music and probably felt like Chad's edits didn't make sense because he simply can't think about music at the same level that Chad can.
holy shit shut up you fags
Kiss me
<3
>[listens to Polyphia once]
That's gay anon
I enjoy music from all generations equally, just depends on context and my mood. I think many (not all) people of older generations project their dislike of missing out on so much music which they know they could otherwise enjoy were they to "get it".
>I enjoy music from all generations equally
Same here. The only reason I tend to listen to modern music less is because there's just less rock and jazz music in general, but the stuff that does come out can still be very high quality.
From what little I played of nu-doom, I hate that there are all these micro-cutscenes that take control of your character and camera to show you an ebin moment
the music is not that great imo, I liked what Mick Gordon did with Prey better
a lot of zoomer shit is retarded but so is a lot of boomer shit. gems are far and few inbetween when it comes to every era, every genre and every generation. theres good boomer rock and bad boomer rock. good zoomer trap/phonk whatever and bad trap/phonk. its all a matter of finding the rare times when people are talented. stop being so close minded, doom's core was pretty great, the problem is the garbage untalented losers who try to emulate it and miserable fail with shitty nu-metal. all of you guys sub 0 iq manlet retards and i am the only gigabrained alpha chad as I take the middle both sides position and only listen to good music regardless of age or genre.
it's so bland
metal for people that never listened to metal
