Do you use a standing desk? Do you enjoy it?
meme for lazy ducks that can't focus themselves. if you are lazy tard no desk will save you
I use one, nagger it’s not for focus it’s to avoid blood clots
https://nuunlife.com/blogs/news/the-surprising-health-risks-of-standing-all-day-at-work
>It turns out that too much of just about anything is bad for you.
Woooooooow turns out my parents have been right about what they've been preaching me for 30 years! This is totally new and unexpected!
>stand for 1 hour
>sit for 1 hour
ez
>all day
Just exercise regularly. If get blood clots from sitting, then you've already got a major problem and should see a doctor.
My company spent probably hundreds of thousands of dollars on an office redesign. All Herman Miller sit/stand desks. The first week, everyone was doing the sit/stand thing throughout the day. After 1 month you would forget we even had these desks because everyone was sitting
I sometimes do, it's ok
I ghetto rigged mine to be sorta standable for shorter periods of time. My desk has Ikea Finnvard legs anyway (I could swear they were called something different when I bought them 12 years ago) so I put them on a higher position and propped up my monitor on top of my bookshelf speakers laid sideways, and now I can still use the desk comfortably sitting on a kitchen stool but I can move the stool aside and extend the monitor to its highest position and use it standing up relatively well. I've had occasional creeping hip pains lately and I've found that standing up more (like two or three 1 hour stints a day) really helps with calming them right back down before they get any worse and I need anti inflammatory medication again. I plan on investing in a proper standing desk as soon as I can make up my mind about my future living room layout.
that looks like it came out really well, good shit
Ikea has them under the name of "MITTBACK" where I live
Yes, I have a cheap Ikea standing desk (the non-electric one) and I have to use it all the time sue to serious back problems. It does the job. But it was hard to learn how to focus while standing at first.
I only use it because I'm incredibly constipated and rip open my asshole on the regular and it's painful to sit directly after shitting.
I don't think you'll ever use it without some sort of pre-existing medical problem.
>I don't think you'll ever use it without some sort of pre-existing medical problem.
I accept your challenge.
i am currently standing as I begin my warm up stretches
I stand at my workdesk cuz I work bluecollar. You stand cuz you're always one meeting away from falling asleep.
We're not the same.
Uplift desk

I'm 6'4" and I alternate between standing on a balance board (included with desk) and sitting on an exercise ball. Gaming chairs are a meme. Office furniture is a scam.
Does the smoothed edge help much or is it a meme?
Smoothed edge? Are you talking about the cut out space at the front of the desk?
I often have to sketch on my iPad or notebook so it helps to have room for me to lean in.
>touchpad
>steam deck
>meme curved screen
Yeah, you don't get any real work done.
>but muh massive salary
Don't care, you are not a programmer worth his salt
>TouchPad
Some software I use is better with a TouchPad. My MBP is often closed when I'm working and using it while I'm looking at a screen sucks. MX 3 works well too. MX2 for the steamdeck + PC that's offscreen.
>Steamdeck
I like to game on some off times but I'm usually traveling for work. I have an Xbone X but I don't want to drag it around like a loser.
>Curved screen
Love it. Matches my curved TV. Works for what I need it for.
>Massive salary
I fucking wish. Left my previous job to build my own business during COVID. Not a coder but I work with them. Making less of what I used to make but I'm building my own thing.
>Assuming only programmers exist

>Falling for the ball meme
>uplift
>made in texas
lol
it's made in china. the wood for the top MAYBE came from texas.
The wood is obviously chipboard.
Bamboo.
Looks like Uplift has a facility in Austin to make the desktops.
The frame, motors and electronics are from Jiecang, a company in China.
furniture is a scam.
>spent over 600 bucks on a fucking desk
kys nagger
>le wator bittle

>carpet protector on hard wood floor
>single locking desk drawer with enough room for a piece of folded paper.
>wheel casters
>clamps
I'm surprised there are no NERF 'guns'. Is this entire post a distressed call-for-help disguised as satire? The mind of your average "standing desk enthusiast" must be a twisted and psychotic place.
Overpriced but glad I got it
even if you are LULZ outside of working ours the prolonged sitting can still impact you
I have used one exclusively since June. It's great for computer usage but sucks for writing
I did take the clot shot (willingly by the way). I need all the help I can get
There is 0 benifit to standing desks. Humans have spent 80-90% of their time sitting for hundreds of thousands of years. There is literally no change in the amount of time we spend sitting, from out monkey days until today.
If you need a standing desk for ~~*health benifit*~~ Go the fuck outside and walk for 20 mins. It will more than cover you daily exercise needs.
>Humans have spent 80-90% of their time sitting for hundreds of thousands of years
lol
lmao
https://www.sciencealert.com/hunter-gatherers-are-as-sedentary-as-us-but-how-they-sit-makes-all-the-difference
so the slavs had the right idea all along
No. It just proves that slavs are naggers.
Could always learn to Asian squat.
The way a lot of them hunch their backs looks incredibly painful tbh.
There's a better way.
yes
yes
>Do you use a standing desk?
I did for a bit
>Do you enjoy it?
I did not
I git the 'roids from sitting down all day, so im thing about getting one
At the se time i cant imagine being as productive as i am without being comfy at my desk
i use my standing desk exclusively to jerk off standing while watching porn
Why the fuck are these so expensive?
You can't focus as well when you are sranding because you are using motor functions.
i think this is some 5D chess israeli trick but i still haven't figured it out
I can't stand them :^)
Should have went with "I can't take them sitting down."
Standing desk (I mean the one you can adjust by pressing a button) + Aeron + gym ball is the best combo.
Yes, standing in one place for hours sounds wonderful.
I got one with a crank because it was relatively sturdy and relatively cheap. It's alright. I don't stand with it very often but on the occasions when I do it's very handy. Nice side benefit is going under the desk for cable management. You can just lift the desk up and hunch to get down there instead of crawling on the ground.
