Used to until 2009 when I replaced it with an LCD. I can't find any use for one, especially considering how much room they took up for the small screen size.
Yes. Pic related has sat in its current position for about a decade now. Last time I tried to move it I wasn't confident in doing so without a third person to stabilize it since it kept wanting to tilt forward, so it sits there with an LCD TV in front of it and gets used on occasion for some anime and games.
>needs three people to move a 19" tv
That's a 36" CRT anon. It weighs about 175 lbs, and most of that weight is on the screen side so if you just get a guy on each side trying to pick it up from underneath it'll want to tip forward.
I like how weight has made bigger CRT's price hit 0. the 50" ones go for free every day on craigslist just because its a 10 man job to move it anywhere
My grandmother had one in the guest room of her old house. Since she's moved to a new home, it's probably collecting dust in storage or it got thrown out
>emerson
I'm from germany and when amazon was still too new to be widely known, we had to learn HTML in school. Our teacher dictated what to write and the people in my course literally wrote "emerson". Lots of them.
I'm still cringing, even in this moment, thinking about it.
this ones small, bought it from an old lady who still had the box it came in and all the manuals.the fourth one is in the basement somewhere and i dont feel like finding it rn
really want one of the tiny trinitrons but fuck paying $200 for them which is what every retro nintendo nerd is trying to sell their trinitron for now.
I'm not big on retro gaming which is pretty much the only reason I can think to have one. Better to save room and let people who actually want one have it.
Yeah, and this flat screen, 19 inch 1920x1440 monitor is also getting crushed. I took a screwdriver to it's screen just before disposing, so you homosexuals don't even think about recovering it.
why seethe so hard against crtfags?
still i hope that junk gets recycled, my phone has a 2560x1440 panel crammed in less than 6.95 square inches consuming only a fraction of the energy
Seethe, fuckers. They are going to get smashed and smelted into some chink trinkets.
Yeah, and this flat screen, 19 inch 1920x1440 monitor is also getting crushed. I took a screwdriver to it's screen just before disposing, so you homosexuals don't even think about recovering it.
Always the same three pictures and the same quotes every CRT thread that comes up...
Yeah, and this flat screen, 19 inch 1920x1440 monitor is also getting crushed. I took a screwdriver to it's screen just before disposing, so you homosexuals don't even think about recovering it.
>dont sit too close to the TV or you will hurt your eyes
Probable a meme spread by CRT companies to prevent you from sitting inside the radiation field, that stretches out about a meter around the device.
I finally replaced mine around 2013 when I could get 144hz TN with black frame insertion, expecting to get comparable motion clarity to the CRT when that tech was the latest hype.
Unfortunately it doesn't actually compare and for years I regretted getting rid of the CRT because the switch to TN really wasn't worth it: worse contrast, worse color accuracy, and worse motion clarity. It was really weird after the switch particularly when playing games like Diablo / POE because on a CRT I could run around and moving text on the screen would be perfectly clear as it moved around, whereas with a flatscreen the sliding text looks like absolute shit and in many cases was actually unreadable.
Now I have a 144hz IPS and I'm pretty happy with it. Motion is still obviously worse than CRT ever was and the problem with sliding text is still there (though not as bad as my earlier screens), but at least the picture (contrast / color accuracy) is very good so it feels like there's at least a fair trade off, and I do appreciate the extra desk space.
Anyone able to identify this? Is it worth picking up? I looked around a bit but couldn't figure out the model and the person who has it is too retarded to read a label.
Dang, don't remember seeing any quite like that. Guess that explains why I couldn't find a CRT with controls quite like that one. Thought I just couldn't see the tube housing.
You can probably get better for free, it is a FPD 1520 Gateway Monitor. I used Google Lens to figure it out. The best resolution is 1024x768. Really, if your vga port supports it, you should probably find a 1280x1024 monitor. I find those beside the road all the time.
I own two that I never use. One TV, one monitor. And I guess technically the third which is a cute portable one I picked up from the thrift. To me they aren't really worth it when I can just use my 42" Vizio or any other TV/monitor I have
how do crt fags deal with the low brightness, tiny display size, ugly scalines and the size of those chonkers?
Why not just get a fucking plasma TV if you want an emissive display?
I have a JVC BM-H1400PN, i drove 10 hours to pick it up and it cost £200 but i'm very happy with it it supports up to 480i, has component/rgb/svideo/composite inputs
space management has gotten more efficient since this pic was taken.
The basic premise of storing smart is storing vertical, if you get two leayers of CRTs you can double the amount you can store.
Basically you want crts and then crts on those crts and then crts on those, but I would go much higher because if one of them falls on your head you will most certainly die
yep.
I payed a little for some other high end ones, 30 euros for one I really wanted because its a cool and rare graphic design monitor, but if you are patient you can get good ones for free
>low brightness
mine is bright enough, I use it as a lamp at night. >tiny display size
Don't have space for a bigger (wider) display, so its fine. >ugly scalines
Part of the appeal as far as I'm concerned. >Why not just get a fucking plasma TV if you want an emissive display?
Plasma is cool, but its basically unobtanium. Plus, it isn't based on vacuum tubes, which is the main reason I like CRTs. I would love to get a red or orange plasma monitor at some point though.
I almost fell for the meme after lurking crt threads last year, but no, never did end up getting one. don't really have the room for it tbh. if I find one out on hard rubbish I'd pick it up though.
Eh, I retired most old consoles, I barely have any old media out in general (most of it is in a closet behind me, behind a bed at that)
>my families old, dead laptops
Post.
It's nothing special really.
Like, 5 laptops stacked on top of each other. And my old netbook on top of that, as well as some old PS..4 controller, yeah, it.... died via wall. Woops.
utter fucking scum, if you own, let alone make a part of your identity and post about on LULZ, any one of >CRT >mechanical keyboard >vinyl record
you are an abominable hipster homosexual
>family had a CRT as a second TV because why get rid of something that works? >got a CRT TV when I moved out because I was making jack shit at the time, I wanted a TV, and a CRT was significantly cheaper than getting an LCD one >still have it because it still works >this is hipster move
I do not play any game where a CRT is a competitive requirement, and I am not insane so I am not becoming competitive at any game where a fucking CRT is a requirement as I am not dumb.
CRTs are out of production. The old computers that plugged into CRTs will stop working. Those old consoles sold at garage sales will stop working. Everybody will move to using a modern monitor and an emulator. Since I realise all this, it's just all too embarrassing for me to cling onto some shitty CRT for nostalgic reasons.
As I get older, I realise how much my technological fixations fucking date me as it is, without me going out of my way to cling onto obsolete technology. Also holy fuck do you know how power hungry and heavy that shit is?
Your pets will die, your parents will die if they havent allready, you will watch everything you care about wither away untill you finally start rotting in the ground yourself.
So why even bother clinging onto life at that point?
>Those old consoles sold at garage sales will stop working.
They're actually quite durable vs modern hardware, or at least the cartridge based ones are (outside of stuff like the cartridge connector on the original NES). Sure capacitors can eventually go bad but that's not hard to replace on anything that uses through hole components.
I do. I got a free trinitron 2 months back actually. But it serves no real purpose and i only got it because it somehow has value in the used market. I plan on selling it since i'm a poorfag and CRT's are a bit of a meme.
Used to until 2009 when I replaced it with an LCD. I can't find any use for one, especially considering how much room they took up for the small screen size.
>hrt rhymes with crt
no
rly makes u think
not anymore and good riddance, moving several hundred pound 40"+ crts was a chore
>not lifting to be able to carry CRTs much easier
skill issue if you ask me
I owned a CRT TV until 2017, but I haven't had a CRT computer monitor since the mid 2000s
Yes. Pic related has sat in its current position for about a decade now. Last time I tried to move it I wasn't confident in doing so without a third person to stabilize it since it kept wanting to tilt forward, so it sits there with an LCD TV in front of it and gets used on occasion for some anime and games.
>needs three people to move a 19" tv
homosexual isn't a strong enough word to describe you.
>needs three people to move a 19" tv
That's a 36" CRT anon. It weighs about 175 lbs, and most of that weight is on the screen side so if you just get a guy on each side trying to pick it up from underneath it'll want to tip forward.

>50" ones
are crt tv even good? i can understand pc ones as they have better reloutions lines whatever. but tv? they are very low res
Nah CRT TVs are all trash unless you specifically have 240p/480i content to display on them. Then they might have a usecase for you.
wide pride world wide
>I wasn't confident in doing so without a third person to stabilize it
>without a third person to stabilize it
>a third person
yes but it went out of focus and im really too lazy to re tune everything, I also have the same mousepad
My grandmother had one in the guest room of her old house. Since she's moved to a new home, it's probably collecting dust in storage or it got thrown out
one 17" and one 19". I used to have five but I sold a few. Love them blocky motherfuckers
i can hear the high pitched noise, so no.
no such thing
Should I?
what character is this?
looks like a character from school days?
thanks anon you saved me

forgot pic oops.
think i took that pic right when i walked in the door from picking up the tv's
They're great if you can get them for cheap and get the settings right
nice trinitron
i remember that thread
Being european is a godsend for CRT.
Almost every consumer CRT TV are RGB SCART compatible and most 90-2000s CRT TV are NTSC/60Hz compatible.
What game is this?
?t=1420
Oh it's in jap, do you know if there's an English patch?
just learn jap
>that ntr rpg bgm
tranny alert
No crts are a fucking tranny meme that are fine if your nostalgic and if you can get it for cheap but other than that lcds and oleds stomp them
I'm not a poser, so no.
wtf is this (quiet literally) slop?
a plate of cum of course.
with extra bits.
yogurt with seasoning
chunky cum enema
it's an aquired taste
yoghurt with chocolate bits?
quite nice
estrogen, onions, and ranch dressing all mixed together
I'm not big on retro gaming which is pretty much the only reason I can think to have one. Better to save room and let people who actually want one have it.
Had the exact one pictured. Was a piece of utter shit, died randomly one day.
Sent 10 of those fuckers to the landfill today.

Stop hitting yourself/what would your father say if he saw that?
and sitting within a field of electromagnetic radiation all day? No thanks bro.
Is this real
I was thinking about getting one myself but this scares me
that's why the glass is so thick on them, to block that shit out. it's fine
Does everyone over 30 have cancer?
With the way things are going now, I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility.
Your eyes are being irradiated with electromagnetic radiation right now.
Light is electromagnetic radiation. A monitor by definition will be flooding you with electromagnetic radiation.
>dont sit too close to the TV or you will hurt your eyes
Probable a meme spread by CRT companies to prevent you from sitting inside the radiation field, that stretches out about a meter around the device.
>sitting within a field of electromagnetic radiation all day?
You've done that your entire life
Of course not. I had to use those back in the day and they were absolutely trash shit. I am so happy I'm not a retard zoomer.
post kot
Are you sitting on your bed?
not since 2o16, moved the glass table
he cute
Dumped it when I moved.
I do have a CRT oscilloscope though
CRTs suck

i still kept my crt when i got a shitty lcd
i recognize that tomadachi. nice boat.
>Daily CRTroon cope thread
Do you really need a huge ass CRT to watch your tranime? What is wrong with you?
You fucking pedos.
Are you the guy who celebrates his waifu birthday on YouTube?

turn the brightness up
>tiny display size
buy a bigger one

get better taste

lift
Plasmas weigh a fuckton too (at least compared to LCD & OLED) and similar to CRTs are worth dealing with it
Crts dont take up alot of space though I have more then 20 in my room alone
I have a JVC BM-H1400PN, i drove 10 hours to pick it up and it cost £200 but i'm very happy with it it supports up to 480i, has component/rgb/svideo/composite inputs

easy acces tbh
And I dont like empty rooms

why tf would i own boomer tech when we have oled now lmaoo
post dick
disgusting pic i hate you
this you? post more pics
>no cute tranny feet
it's over
u got the most crooked toes i ever even seen
imagine the smell
No (I'm on that OLED hotness rn), I think I still have a video card with analog out somewhere though.
First the schools and now they're putting CRT in the computers? We need to stop this
Bowl of cum on the right
Never change LULZ
imagine NOT having a 40" trinitron
>eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
doesn't bother me
my grandma still using shit-tier Toshiba CRT TV
still werks despite she watch TV everyday
I almost fell for the meme after lurking crt threads last year, but no, never did end up getting one. don't really have the room for it tbh. if I find one out on hard rubbish I'd pick it up though.
No. I grew up with them so I know how much they suck and don't feel the need to be some blogging hipster homosexual every time I post here.
Does this count?
some crts fuck up and become like this, so it does count
Does anyone have the wallpaper on the right monitor?
larger version on konachan (magical heart kokoro-chan)
I do indeed.
Sitting to the right of me unused, along with 2 old LCDs and several of my families old, dead laptops.
hook it up and put some old 4:3 anime or movie on there its very comfy
Eh, I retired most old consoles, I barely have any old media out in general (most of it is in a closet behind me, behind a bed at that)

Post.
yes, and i have several crt projectors in storage.
crt haters are npc's. pathetic, really.
test
My last CRT was a FW900. It died after a year or so and Sony replaced it with one of the first IPS monitors. Never looked back.

I got into CRTs because I was poorfag and couldn't afford LCDs. Now I've just developed a taste for them and don't really like other display types.
no

Increasingly hard to come by, even used ones but emulating vector graphics games requires crt.
