I used to hoard tech until I realized I was wasting dozens of hours a month up upkeeping them all with no use.
Constant OS updates, constant app / program updates, no more.
Same. And also constantly keeping the charge around 50-80% and keeping the files on them up-to-date. I had four tablets, three laptops, and six phones. All hand-me-downs from family and friends who upgraded to new stuff. Getting rid of all those old and spare laptops, tablets, and phones was such a liberating experience. Now I have just one phone and one computer.
Original tweet, since OP is a homosexual:

I don't understand why people blur names here. These things are trivial to reverse search.
Yes, because my small collection of 12-16 year old thinkpads is more convenient to me as a pile of useless junk than the effort it would take to zero out the disk drives and sell/toss them.
He's from reddit, where you get insta-banned for not blurring all names in your screencaps, it's not something LULZ does but he does it reflexively anyway.
forgot my pic
>He's from reddit
there's a twitter account collecting these, the screenshot was just like that and i got it from there you fucking retard
yes i read that twitter account too, he seems to has lost his way and is now posting stuff like this which could hardly be considered consoomerism, love and devotion to one game you enjoy playing a lot is not at all like hoarding a room full of retro games you don't play for the collectable value.
Not a single good hearted person talks about that series of games for more than 10 minutes. Same goes for any rhythm games.
what a strange thing to say
Future Tone arcade has been abandoned for over two years.
It's getting taken out of arcades because no updates means declining interest. It didn't even get all the songs that PS4 version got. Miku rhythm games are dead.
(Project Sekai doesn't count)
>Miku rhythm games are dead.
>(Miku rhythm game doesn't count)
Its because people take the images from Reddit and use this website as Reddit 2.
> lots of security cameras
who is he trying to catch? other pedophiles? this homosexual is just a sad israeli reseller.
> buy garbage
> try to make a profit
> can't
> gets stuck with garbage
> i..i am.. a collector..
embarrassing.
based itoddler keeping other itoddlers from having more icrap
uh, I have a bag of old cables and peripherals that I'll probably never use. It's like the bag of 'maybe it'll have what I need, but never does'
I found a bunch of floppy/ide ata cables recently. I did not toss them. Someday I might need..
Yes. Here's my hardware. I have a shelf of old software boxes and israeliteel cases.
And you are diagnosed autistic right?
Nah I'd say I live a pretty normal live with a home, wife and other hobbies. I spent a lot of my late teens and early twenties into this stuff and haven't had the heart to move on yet. I'll probably downsize soon and cash in on what the vintage fanbois will pay.
oh hey, someone else with a spreadsheet of systems
here's mine, though it isn't really complete
yes
Cool to see other charts. I may steal some of your formatting for mine. Also jelly of the SGI and Sun systems.
>someone else with a spreadsheet of systems
I also love spreadsheets
Collecting e-waste is a mental illness. Just a specific flavor of Diogene's syndrome.
>Collecting e-waste is a mental illness
Pretty much this. I'm guilty of it since I have a small crt tv I use to play retro games on, but, at some point (very early on), hoarding useless shit becomes unhealthy
>mfw he walks in on his collection one day and all of the batteries have bloated
That one was mint in box.
why does it matter if it was sealed in the box?
imagine the scams you could pull with this, your buyers will never open it to check if it's legit or filled with lead weights cus it'll destroy the resale value.
I assume someone paying $63,000 for something has more information about it to confirm it's legit. It probably came with production records and everything.
People publicizing their shit like this makes them prime targets for theft. It's not even about the value, they're just someone to be bested by psychopaths.
You severely overestimate people
I imagine it's all fun and games until you get caught.
Funnier idea though. Collect some. Information about these products and then create "complete in box replicas". Have them mimic the packaging, the dimensions, the weight. Shrink wrap it and then sell it at its original MSRP.
Peak consumerism.
No, I'm not mentally ill.
No, but I will hoard bulk-levels of components or simple electronics. I know as soon as I throw away my 3 bags of 470uf 25v capacitors, I'll need one the next week for something.
Same with my 4 bags of 1,000x 3mm green LED's etc lol.
If I buy shit from Aliexpress, I usually order 5x as much as I'd need because the next time I go to stock up, the pricing has increased by 300% and they start upping the shipping costs to counter inflation and/or popularity as it's discovered by autists like me.
Not interested in end-consumer shit like displays or funkopop-electronics though.
I don't hoard useless technology but I do collect perfectly useful technology others may find useless
This is what I do. Anytime a family member wants to get rid of something they know I may be able to find a use for it or will at the least recycle it properly. I also nab stuff from work when we retire our enterprise gear. I haven't bought a computer in years, it's all free shit, and most old hardware has years of life left in it when a normie thinks it's time to upgrade.
Has gotten me some good scores: an Optiplex 9020 I use as my main desktop at home, a 7010 I keep hooked up to the TV, and a T420 for when I need a laptop at home.
We're about to upgrade our laptops at work, so I'll be bringing a nice Dell Latitude home and hopefully more than one.
Lucky. I found out my company started gutting computers before tossing them in the recycling bins to prevent this. Fucking bastards
Wouldn't survive a single earthquake.
>putting a mask on your profile pic
>your profile pic is actually not your face but a 3d generated masked face
May Allah give normies every form of cancer, amen, amen, amen.
>getting triggered over a mask
>claims to not be triggered
>mfw
5 thinkpads and counting.
It's just a bunch of squares. This is worse than funko pop shrines.
as a fellow collector bro doesnt understand that the resale value drops 50% once you open it
Yeah some, but not like and autists with garage full with 20 systems with excel documentation. Just some spare parts for win98 / XP compatibility.
Also Toshiba librettos since they're cute.
At my parents house I had an Abit fx5xxx gpu as part of an XP box with an Abit IC7-Max3 and a 3.2ghz p4 and 2gb BH5 ram all in a beige aluminum lian LI case. My brother sold it.
High end FX gpus and Alu Lian Li cases were always sexy.
I don't really like anything P4 for a lot of reasons. Mostly because now there are much faster and nicer options for AGP system like Asrock LGA775 and socket 939 boards.
I'm not a huge fan of AGP. More of a huge fan of Abit, I've got a 21" Trinitron CRT I use, an XP machine - Abit IP35/e8400/750ti and the other win10 is an EVGA x99/6950x/980ti. After Abit died I became an EVGA fanboy.
I hate dusting my dresser so I'm not dusting shit I don't even use. Consoooooom
while its not hoarding, the op collects some pretty useless shit. collecting in general is imo a reflection of a life wasted.
>all those lithium-ion batteries degrading
>all those eventual bloated batteries turning into incendiary devices
these retards don't live in the same universe as us and cry the loudest when their shit bursts into flames.
I used to do this but with video games. Then a girl told me it was kind of lame.
I'm grateful to her tho, I needed to change my ways.
tech?Nope
if i buy hardware it sure as shit is being put to use not siting on its ass
no point to hardware that just wastes space
no because nostalgia is a mentil illness, whenever something is broken I throw it away and forget about it, just like how I consume content : dl => watch/read/listen => delete
I barely buy anything so it's not that much of an issue.
good thing most stuff is utter garbage nowadays, really not much stuff is worth saving
I have a closet full of the boxes of everything I buy. I don't know if it is really hoarding because its original packaging. It helps when selling old electronics if they are near original condition with all accessories.
>Do you hoard useless technology?
I have an old system with an FX 8350 and GTX 750ti.
It's probably going to stay on my storage shelf forever. I don't think anyone wants to buy it even for $60
