How close is a close call?
Americans are pussies, those planes could be 10 km apart and they'd call it a close call.
I remember reading about a crash in India, can't remember the flight number, but basically the plane took off, and the wheels caught on fire. When the plane retracted the landing gear the fire set the cargo ablaze, and thus the plane itself. The bottom fell out of it shortly after take off and flaming poos were falling from the sky lol.
It's not just the ATC's it's the pilots as well. I know the newer air frames are supposed to be higher performance but I see them regularly hot dogging like I have never seen in my life. The first two times were 777 and then 787 with the pilots pushing the things near stall in climb which never seemed necessary. I like on a major inbound route to a major airport. Pilots have been doing more and more extreme turns putting the wings nearly vertical and turning hard. I see paths cross far too often. Planes closer to each other than ever in my life. Somethings very wrong.

As a pilot I can only say that I've had no issues, but incidents do happen.
Gender and race ratios have not changed in the ATC world for over 10 years.
Be afraid to fly take it from me. At least until the next couple of years pass so all the rookie pilots rack up some flight time and the really sucky pilots will either crash or get booted.

You should add this and competency crisis in the near future (a decade or two) everything will fall apart, from infrastructure maintenance to the ones who makes your car/phone
