Nobody questions it because all the experts agree. They all agree because they're all in it together.
If you look into it you'll see lots of wildlife mysteriously reappearing around the UK in places it hasn't been seen for decades, sometimes centuries.
The big cats are usually panthers and are being strategically released in places where the deer population have gone up, after these same experts recommended they weren't culled.
They goal is noble but the result will be that people won't be able to safely go out into nature without fear of predators, especially as guns are so rare here.
If this were true there would be way more wild animal attacks (or any at all).

That wasn't me responding but the answer to the daily mail thing is if you wanted to sway PUBLIC opinion on something you don't write an opinion piece to go in a publication intended for academics you write it for a publication for people who don't know any better.
Fellow academics would either agree with this because they're in on it or would ask serious questions about how a breeding pair of boar could possibly swim a kilometer across fairly fast flowing water (2-3m/s) and survive to go on and form a new population. Its genius really because it'll fly under the radar of contrary academics but be enough evidence to back up something happening especially if a few agree.
I'm not sure how much info is out there and available about this but I'm personally interested in rewilding and have been to talks with a few of the professors involved. I agree with some of what they're doing but think they're going way too far and the result will be a far more dangerous rural world in the UK. Especially when the cats become more prevalent.

Efficiency is one of the driving factors of shit like the WEF and NWO, that's why it seems so psychopathic. They don't actually care that much about the natural ecology of the country as it doesn't provide them with much benefit, so there won't be any solutions provided. In fact the average urbanite will actively revel and protest against any government solution, look how people who'd never stepped foot on grass protested so heavily about fox hunting, badger culling and all sorts.
When the UK imports 40% of its food and will basically start going hungry when there are shortages, people will take to eating these boar no doubt. unless they literally seal off these areas like Kruger national park or something. But I'm not really sure how they are going to justify the land use in this way to a public that is on rations.
Nearly a million people use food banks regularly in the UK yet the UK deer population is the highest its been in over 1000 years. The public opinion that the daily mail is swaying with that article is the opinion that boars are going to take over England and gore anyone walking in the woods. This is what they are trying to push with their sensationalist headline about an "expert opinion" that no one would care about if they didn't push the idea of total boar dominance. Although I think your point has some relevance, you should focus less on animals and more on the UK government's incentives for farmers to re-wild their land. That's clearly going to make the UK more dependent in importing food.
I'm not talking specifically about boars and I'm aware of the US boar issue, I'm talking more about their plans to create "fully wild" regions with autonomous populations of deer, lynx, wolves etc. Boars don't fit the niche of the top predators like the bear, lynx, wolf.... they are good all-rounder species that can survive easily but are also dangerous. They would HAVE to section off areas containing big cats, wolves or even bears if they did that because of public safety.
