Yes, black people were migrants to South Africa, except the Khoisan. The Zulus genocided the Xhosa in a much more brutal manner, impaling any who did not escape them, yet no one asked them to give everything they had to the remaining Xhosa despite being generations removed from the initial atrocity. South Africans were obviously being held to different standards just because they were white.

There was no real moral argument against South Africans considering themselves the only real citizens of white areas (everything except Natal and maybe Khoisan reservations) and black people just visitors subject to restrictions at their discretion.

No Historian consider that the Bantu migration was a clean, proper migration that replaced a 100% Khoi-san/pygmee population with a 100% Bantu one, but rather the result of centuries of mutual cultural influence (first through trade, the. Coexisting population inhabiting different ecological niche) and admixture, Tswana are around 20-25% Khoisan for exemple, Xhosa around 15%

And then of course there are weird case

Say the Namibian Damara (relevant since they had their own bantustan) are genetically 85%+ bantu but speak a Khoekhoe Languages and have Khoekhoe culture, are they natives or not?

the idea that KhoiKhoi speakers were "capoid" people is incorrect.

The KhoiKhoi originalyl came from east africa and probably looked like Sandawe east africans (sort of like pygmies).
It's only from assimilating local San people in the cape did they gain that appearance.

The tendency in Africa for nations to become independent, and at the same time to do justice to all, does not only mean being just to the black man of Africa, but also to be just to the white man of Africa.

We call ourselves European, but actually we represent the white men of Africa. They are the people not only in the Union but through major portions of Africa who brought civilisation here, who made the present developments of black nationalists possible. By bringing them education, by showing them this way of life, by bringing in industrial development, by bringing in the ideals which western civilisation has developed itself.

And the white man came to Africa, perhaps to trade, in some cases, perhaps to bring the gospel; has remained to stay. And particularly we in this southern most portion of Africa, have such a stake here that this is our only motherland, we have no where else to go. We set up a country bare, and the Bantu came in this country and settled certain portions for themselves, and it is in line with the thinking of Africa, to grant those fullest rights which we also with you admit all people should have and believe providing those rights for those people in the fullest degree in that part of southern Africa which their forefathers found for themselves and settled in. But similarly, we believe in balance, we believe in allowing exactly those same full opportunities to remain within the grasp of the white man who has made all this possible.

bantus did of course migrate to south africa at some point, but this point was well before jan van riebeeck landed in 1652. that's why their languages are not only endemic to south africa, their language families are completely endemic to south africa.
That is south african bantu languages to non-south african are like icelandic or faorese are to dutch and english. they are a separate branch of the language family. That doesn't happen in 300 years.
also most bantu tribes incorporated Khoi people into them. For example there are clans of Xhosas that are basically just San/Khoi tribes that adopted Xhosa language and culture.
    >Khoisan
they were classified as coloureds under apartheid and oppressed vis-a-vis whites.
    >Zulus genocided Xhosas
as i said untrue. Zulus had their wars against people in Natal and to an extent transvaal (so sepedi people for example). They didn't extensively go after the eastern cape which the British had already made big inroads into.

      >Going from an outlier in Africa regarding living standards
First world living standards for the white population while the majority black population had to live in third world conditions.

      > having its own nuclear weapons program before it was cool for pariah states to do
Spent billions on a wasteful, nonsensical nuclear nuclear weapons programme instead of using the money to build schools, hospitals universities etc.

No, not really. They didn’t really have to worry because they we’re anti communist, so they got western support. Then they just crossed their fingers and hoped everyone would forget or something after the Soviet Union fell.
De Klerk was the only one who realized that his country was probably heading towards a race war, and he reacted accordingly.

The San survived in the Kalahari desert and the Khoi on the Cape where the temperate climate wasn't suitable for West African-derived tropical agriculture. Both once existed across Southern Africa before the Bantu pushed them beyond the limits of Bantu agriculture.

          >Both once existed across Southern Africa before the Bantu pushed them beyond the limits of Bantu agriculture.

Impressive that West Africans managed to adapt to a country where temperatures in winter can fall to below zero degrees Celsius at night in the Johannesburg area of South Africa .Only KwaZulu-Natal Province has a tropical climate all year.

The truth is that the Bantus arrived in South Africa at around the same time as the Europeans. No idea how this is even remotely controversial.

      Anonymous

It's about rain patterns, not temperature.
      >The historical development of farming in Southern Africa exhibits another trajectory that is difficult to model if archaeological and historical data are not taken into account. Archaeologists and historians have known for a long time that the winter rainfall area of Western Cape cannot sustain the African crops sorghum and millet. The agricultural development of African populations hence came to a definite limit in its expansion towards the southwest. It was only with the introduction of European crops that a Mediterranean type of farming system was established.

Bantu arrived earlier in the north and east, but half the country was still Khoisan when the Dutch arrived.

Bantu speakers brought dogs (the Africanis breed) to Southern Africa which is how the Khoi got them. Also Bantu and Khoi often traded and exchanged in different ways. You had Khoi influence Bantu faiths as well as being priests for them and you had mixing among them. People say the Xhosa are heavily mixed but in reality people think Mandela is the norm but many other groups have Khoi ancestry. On top of that you had Khoi groups assimilating others such as the Nama in Namibia.

South Africa must be the only country in the world who are able to genocide their farmers while at the same time have record export agricultural produce and have enough food left over to feed their own population.
