Did more people start claiming he was their “favorite” after he died? It seems like the murders did a lot for his popularity and legacy, with wrestling fans pretending he was more important to them than he really was.

Vince Mcmahon, Dave Taylor, William Regal, Jessie Ventura, and Kevin Sullivan all worked together under the commands of the “Dark Entity” to brainwash Chris into committing the demonic ritualistic killings. He applied the “Crippler Crossface” to both Daniel and Nancy until their necks were broken.

That fulfilled the conditions that Benoit had the blood of innocents on his hands and he proceeded to snap his own neck to complete the ritual. He placed bibles near the bodies as a diversion to draw attention away from the “Dark Entity” likely due to the fact the several paranormal investigations have been successful in gather evidence against the “Dark Entity”

The “Dark Entity” has been behind many infamous deaths, such as Owen, Macho Man, Eddie Guerrero, Daffney, and Scott Hall in these ritualistic fashions in order to gather power. It is trying to bring someone, or something, over from the Dark Side. Whatever it is trying to bring over, could bring about the end of all we know and hold dear.

Certain supercomputer A.I.s have theorized that perhaps the voice of the “Dark Entity” was a figment of Benoits imagination, caused by the many concussions he suffered in his career. Some projections indicate that severely damaged brains make it easier for the “Dark Entity” to take hold and manipulate its victims. The supercomputer A.I.s were inconclusive when asked if the “Dark Entity” was working with a certain wretched sentient Slime creature.

Under the influence of the “Dark Entity”, Vince has throughout the years introduced many characters and factions, such as the Brood, the Ministry of Darkness, Goldust, and more recently Judgment Day, to normalize the types of behaviors and to cover and other yet undiscovered ritualistic murders.

You’d best hope yours prayers go answered, because with the “Dark Entitys” removal of Vince Mcmahon from power, its final plans will be set into motion soon…

Sure, although with the “Dark Entity” hot on the trail of anyone trying to expose it, I have to keep moving at all times, lest I become a thrall to it’s twisted whims…

The short lived “All-White” wrestler, Mordecai, abruptly left WWE in order to wage war against the forces of the “Dark Entity” While he has had some small success in his endeavors, the “Dark Entity” itself remains unperturbed.

A doppelgänger known as Kevin Thorn was forged as a replaced for Mordecai under the guise of a “gimmick change” as to not draw suspicion.

A new theory has emerged around Benoits final moments, particularly the text message to Chavo regarding the “dogs” in the enclosed pool area. Some feel this was Benoits using his last bit of free will to try and send a message alerting everyone to the “Dark Entities” true goals. Should this message be deciphered, the world may not be ready.

Lastly, popular theory's and lore around then thought to be un-related shadow people have recently been linked to the “Dark Entity” If you’ve seen such “shadow figures” out of the corner of your eye, count your blessings that the “Dark Entity” hasn’t claimed your soul for it’s twisted pleasures…

Not on the level of Eddie and Benoit, but he was absolutely loved on the level of someone like Claudio, and could've been far bigger in WWE had VKM's autistic insistence that all redneck and redneck-presenting wrestlers must also be Southerners not kneecapped his career.

Triple H needed to be there. He was a thoroughgoing heel for the program, and HBK after coming out of retirement only ever turned heel for Hogan. He absolutely wasn't going to turn for Benoit, and even if he did, it wouldn't have meant as much as Benoit beating the IWC's least-favorite wrestler of the past two years clean, via submission, in the main event of the year's biggest show.

Hunter was just as important to that match as Ceba was to the MitB match with Punk.

Because Chris Benoit and Eddie didn't put on fake as fuck looking matches full of boring "storytelling" pacekilling antics. They wrestled circles around 90% of the other guys.
WWE style "wrestling" is total shit and it's the sports entertainment outside of the ring that made it as popular a product as it was.

        Anonymous

Nah. The likes of Foley, Taker, Rock, Austin, Angle, HHH, Bret, and Kane all had great matches all throughout the Attitude Era. And their matches were generally a hell of a lot more exciting because their angles had heat.
Benoit was certainly one of the in-ring GOATs. His work looked great and he was a great psychologist and storyteller, but he was woefully lacking in his ability to promote a match.
It generally holds true if you say that WWE was never the promotion that had the best matches, but during that era specifically, they put on great matches backed by entertaining fueds. Simply being a good worker--or even a great one in Benoit's case--was not enough to get as over as the top guys.

Benoit was my favorite wrestler well before he necked himself and his family. I stopped wrestling for a decade after that. Unironically it was watching independent wrestling in Queens that got me back into WWE

  11. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

Nope he was actually my favorite wrestler at least for a couple years prior to his death. I would probably say from the time he was in the radicalz to his death he was probably one of my favorite wrestlers. Especially once Taz WWF run came to a screeching halt since at one point Taz was my favorite along with Goldberg. I was always a mark for the shooter types or at least guys who had that character type even if they weren't legit tough guys irl such as Taz. To me Benoit pulled that believably better than most despite being as short as he was. In fact his height probably added to his intensity and believability in the ring to me. He may not have been as angry and passionate as he was had he been a 6ft+ guy. I seen someone say it well years ago but he was pretty much like a short version of Lesnar except even more intense when he was allowed to be. Definitely exceeded Dyanimite Kid imo who was the guy he modeled himself after. So gtfo I was a Benoit fan for ages and still consider him one of my favorites. I just wish he got to live longer to give us more kino outside of WWE who limited his ability greatly.

Also forgot to say he was definitely a favorite of mind in WCW as well so pretty much I was a fan of his since I saw his work. I guess I was just keeping it limited to WWF in the post since that is sadly how most will remember Benoit besides the murder suicide. Benoit's powerbombs he did to Eddie are the most vicious I ever seen and it amazes me he didn't cripple his buddy with those powerbombs.

I recently became a Chris Benoit fan and looking at the internet consensus, realizdd all the redditors are trying to bury him because of the deaths

Even JR and Jim Cornette don't think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame

Chris Benoit is the ultimate pleb filter
Without almost any doubt whatsoever THE SINGLE BEST WRESTLER PROPER North American wrestling has ever seen and may ever see, yet is shit on because of something terrible he may or may not have done outside the ring, made out like he doesn't even exist, and his rightful title given to his inferiors like Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, whoever

In a way, it's good that it happened, because with one simple conversation about Benoit, you can determine who's an NPC who can't tell good wrestling from bad and hates whoever they're told to hate, and who is a cultured, thinking individual.

He was always over with hardcore Internet fans for his technical ability, but that's it. He had zero charisma or promo ability, and it got worse when Eddie died. He went months without speaking a word on TV and it was very strange.

Pic related is proof casuals never gave a shit about Benoit. He also came in last place on the Taboo Tuesday 2004 poll as well. Edge, in the same year he got booed out of his hometown, still had more fans than Benoit did.

It's not complicated, anon. Benoit to normies was a good wrestler that they liked, but not a top guy. To smarks, Benoit was the best wrestler in the world and maybe their favorite ever. Getting earth shattering pops at MSG, which was the smarkiest crowd, kind of underlines the point.
