Dead institutions.

This book made me realize the humanities are only viable as a hobby and really disillusioned me with college. In undergrad, it appears that the only kind of student that exists is either mind-numbing morons who have never taken a single thing seriously in their life and Charles Walker types that are also complete morons, but act like they know what they are talking about. I've completely abandoned any idea of pursuing the humanities institutionally and am instead going to medical school. Why did they have to let them in IQfy?

Based medgay. Once you read some good scientific papers, you’ll understand that all others forms of literature are inherently worthless.
What specialism? If you’re humanities-minded you’re going to love psychiatry.

Yea, this is my intention. I'm already pretty immersed in science; compared to the stupid shit I had to read in literature classes, I'm happy to be done with it and completely immerse myself in medicine and science.

whats your deal new tripgay? I've always thought we need a new wave of trips. Do you guys ever think about how Ender's brother and sister were basically trips who became very famous and influential in global politics? what if that could happen to one of ours, wouldnt that be cool?

You'll soon see, if you're as perceptive as you imagine, that med school is full of fricking moronic insects who've only convinced themselves of their importance. Take some accounting classes and learn how to overbill in such a way you won't get caught---do it for the money instead of some gay fantasy of its intellectual purity, especially in post-covid/HIV era when even a moron can see it's become more blatantly politicized than anything.

I fricking hate these midwitted regurgitated takes of “most research is non-reproducible”. There’s a legion of third worlders publishing in pay-to-publish journals. This doesn’t make half of the meta-analyses published by Cochrane useless.
Above that, I hate being lectured on fundamental biostatistics like the meaning of a p-value, by a no-name, insignificant Greek epidemiologist in a backwater countryside town.

Medgay here on my 5th year (out of 6, eu med school). If you can see yourself be anything but a doctor, don’t do it. It’s life and soul draining to an extreme point and it’s not a larp. It’s just too much coursework. Exams are hard (they try to find reasons to fail you). Patients are shit and not your thankful people that kiss your hands that you see on grays anatomy or whatever homoerotic show you see on tv.
Also if you have never done chem, biochem, biology and sciences in general, you ARE gonna be analed. It’s also omegahard to get into medschool (at least in my country) and we don’t have private medschool. Private unis in eu means gay and fake and no other doctor takes you seriously. We are open about it too.
If you really want to be a doctard I really hope you get to be anon. Just know what you are up against.

Bro I know, everyone in my family looks up to me. My 2 grandmas are so happy that I am becoming a doctor that they were the reason I just didn’t drop out when I was on my 4th year. I just couldn’t imagine failing them. But it’s draining to a point you don’t know if you haven’t experienced it. I thought highschool studying all day long was hard. This is day in day out in my ass. I am on my 7th 45-10 pomodoro rn.

Duh no shit, idiot. They want to make sure you actually understand what you're doing before you you start treating patients. It's no like humanities if you fake your exam through fancy words, it has no real life repercussions

Memorization, in addition to dealing with a lot of patients, is also necessary for building medical intuition. Doctors don't need to absolutely memorize everything though now that google exists.

You are right my friend , the anon you replied to is an utter pompous imbecile. In order to get to the correct diagnosis one has to be rational, and not just remember texts and know what tests to order. Btw most known physicians are male, not female.

This is true but then you can become a doctor on a cruise line and spend all of your time readmaxxing/writemaxxing. Every now and then you'll have to take a look at the crew to make sure their not sick and sign a death certificate for some senior every now and then. I knew a doctor who went that route. When he got back after his first contract, he had gotten so fat that I couldn't recognize him at first. He told me about how much free time he had on board so he ended up just spending a lot of it in the ship's buffet

I'm a thirdie though so I don't know if living on a cruise ship for month at a time is a passable standard of living for firsties

The idea that the entrance to being upper class somehow requires the making of a college degree that will magically land you a job. This is a scam that was invented by workoids. The upper classes will never accept you, unless you have a landed property and are a local. This eradicates almost all reasons to go to college, besides getting a "better job", another scam invented by workoids, pretending that any job that exits at all can somehow be good.

Just read a little Nietzsche. What I like about him is that he tells you how much of a homosexual you and philosophers in general are and that you need to unfrick yourself and truly think for yourself.
