Crop yields will collapse. You will run out of topsoil. Sugar is a high yielding plant so it died earlier.

But how does peak oil factor into all of this?

Capitalism collapses for multiple reasons, I'm just giving examples of how it would die anyway in addition to peak oil.

Or other countries started to produce sugarcane with higher yields and/or lower costs than the usa

That is a idiotic and wrong theory. Hawaii would be the easiest place to grow and transport sugar.

You know in other countries they can pay less than $1 a day for agriculture labourers? and this

High Fructose Corn Syrup has replaced sugar in many industries, no shit they are producing less of it

This is another idiotic theory; demand for sugar rose.

You know in other countries they can pay less than $1 a day for agriculture labourers? and this[...]

Idiotic reply due to automation. A American farmer makes 50k and there are only 10,000 farmers. India has 50 million farmers making a dollar a day. The sugar production was basically the same so india spends a hundred times more on wages for the same output.

Which can and is substituted for HFCS

You response is pure idiocy. Sugar demand rose and supply fell.

Demand rose, and HFCS met that demand

It didn't. You are mentally moronic.
It's obvious that sugar demand increased and supply (in America at least) fell.
The sugar grown in Brazil went to ethanol and further caused shortage.

The opposite is happening. The permafrost is getting smaller and smaller, as well, increased CO2 is excellent for plant growth and thus crop yeild. So humans will farm further north every decade with higher yeilds. Hawaii agriculture is fricked though, but it is an active volcano island after all so no surprise there.

Everything you said is utter bullshit and categorically wrong. Temperature will collapse and you'll die.

HFCS and sugar are different markets. Hfcs is for drinks, it is not used for candy. HFCS did nothing to reduce sugar demand. It's too gross for anything but soft drinks and stuff like that.

The only countries where supply grew were met by population or ethanol (China, India, Brazil) so the economic explanations are garbage.
His is a moron board and will deny its obvious death from resource depletion.
