      They’re not
Credit unions have gone bankrupt and are only insured up to $250k per depositor too
      OP is just a retard
Credit unions do have certain advantages but they’re not safe from going out of business either

They're not necessarily safe, they just tend to have higher liquidity ratios (credit unions play with car and home loans primarily instead of providing money to hyper-overvalued tech startups and high risk assets. So in the event of a bank run, a credit union is way more likely to have a high enough liquidity ratio to come through during the panic itself.
They also get involved in such low-risk stuff that they're unlikely to ever have their liquidity wiped out in the first place. But it can happen, as the other an on stated. Big companies don't tend to use Credit unions either (like

because big companies don't bank with NFCU just poorfag zogbots

said) but that's actually a good think if you're worried about bank runs because that means there isn't someone about to just yoink 10 million bucks from the credit union's liquidity all at once during a bank run.

If navy federal went down that'd mean the U.S government was kek.

I actually have about just over $40k with Navy Fed myself. I dont even give a fuck about anything anymore though, tired of this clown world and am just enjoying shitposting with you bros. If Navy Fed goes down, that is the end of not just banking, but this country in general- this is literally where the military banks. If the deposits here are not covered, this country will have way bigger issues to worry about should we ever come that point than just getting our money back.

they're saying on twat that the system is down for maintenance.. timing makes sense.. somebody should dig to see if that's consistent with other outages they've had.. the problem though is that they're also saying no ETA for return. that. is weird.. somebody take watch we're short handed tonight for obvious reasons

I have Navy Federal and the app is always down, so I don't really think this takes much weight if we're being honest.

Any bank is susceptible to a run!! DONT PANIC LIKE LITTLE BITCHES AND KEEP OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE C.U. MEMBERS AS WELL FROM PANICKING AND TAKING ALL THEIR MONEY OUT AND YOU WILL BE FINE!! credit unions aren’t for profit, they dont make risky investments, so chances are your credit union is safe.. AS LONG AS YOU DONT FAG OUT AND MAKE A RUN ON YOUR BANK! CIA fags are gonna be working overtime here and on social media to get you guys to panic and start a run! Just know that if nobody runs to the atm, your bank is safe! The fucking SVB shit had nothing to do with risky bets! It was a straight up bank run kicked off by Peter Thiel.. this is the pedophile, Lucifer worshipping, fucking masons lighting the match that will burn down the old system to Kaye way for the new.. (if you don’t understand what’s happening and why by now, Kill yourself.. your not gonna make it!)

Also I'm not a veteran so I can't join the navy federal. Which credit unions are good and how do you know what separates a good from bad one

Checking rates online mostly. Every CU is part of the same network so you can use any credit union's ATM without fees so the only things you have to look for are the online rates, local brick and mortar locations for actual shit that needs to be done at the branch, and any other bells and whistles that it says online at the CU's website. Everything else is standard across the board. As for which are good it's tough to say because CUs are regional or specialized within a field or job so you may not qualify for all of them. Usually if a CU is in your area and doesn't have a specific job (like Navy Federal) in it's title then you qualify for it. You can find that shit on their website too.
Worked with credit union call centers for a few years, thankful I'm not going to be working on Monday
