Bloated isn’t just RAM/CPU while idle with nothing open. Bloated also means how they shove a ton of useless shit software and adverts in there, and you have to do hacks and run spurious shell scripts to unfuck it. Bloated also means the 25+ years of legacy cruft that they keep around, breaking any consistency in the UI.

There are more elegant ways to do backwards compatibility than how Windows does it. They should fork Wine and improve it. Then get rid of the cruft in the main OS.

But then microsoft doesn’t have a monoply anymore, we can’t have it that easy.

how long did it take you to tweak to get to that point? a decent linux setup will still take 1/5th of that. how much disk space are you using?

About 5 minutes with Privatezilla and WPD.app on a Windows 10 21H1 install, there are ways to bring that further down but that tends to break the Windows Store (I like the default screenshot and photos application).
Windows 10 LTSC takes up 1.5 GB of RAM right after booting weirdly enough.

          This is all personal preference

Unlike on Windows, we Linux users have choices. Don’t like the look, change DE. Don’t like apt, just use pacman, dnf or something else. Don’t like systemd? Just use something else.

          > Windows
Don’t like the look? Well too bad
Want widgets on the desktop? Well too bad.
Too much bloat? Well too bad.
Too much spyware and viruses? Well… It’s Windows, what did you expect?
Another forced update? Welp, guess it can’t be helped.

            >don’t like the look?
You can customize Windows as much as Linux except maybe for the tiling window managers, because there are none, because they’re an unproductive meme.
            >want widgets on the desktop?
No i’m over the age of 16

lmao just don’t click on fake download buttons or fake porn sites
            >another forced update?
literally a meme. Updates can be easily disabled.

Fun reminder that in Windows you now have legacy installations, UWP third-party installations, UWP Microsoft Store apps, choco package manager apps, winget package manager apps, portable installations, commandline %path% tools etc.
There is little difference from Linux as far as I can see regarding that. Besides, of course, the fact that you can’t container things on Windows.

And you call that a debloat?
My custom 8.1 iso (made with ntlite & manually refined with dism++) weights a little more than 1 gb, boots in 3 seconds (power button to login screen), ram usage at idle is 700mb, on a 4gb system i can open 40 chromium tabs without any lag.
It’s more stable and much faster than any linux distro with the merit of being able to install the latest software ever. It took me less than a day to make it and i’m going to use it until support ends.

This literally never happened though. One of the neat tricks of NTFS is that it’s damn near impossible to destroy, and always has been.
All real data losses I’ve seen on NTFS over the last 30 years have been from idiotic dd-like utility usage.

Nice headcanon. Too bad this is unlikely to happen. And even if you somehow manage to destroy the partition you can always recover data complete with filenames and directory structures because of how ntfs works. Good luck doing that with ext.

WAIT?! You mean to tell me that OS’es these days have memory management and they actually dynamically scale to utilize the memory the best way possible? WHO KNEW?!

Fuck off retard, Windows 10 already uses 800MB on a 2GB system. Unused RAM is wasted RAM, your OS, no matter which major modern release, knows how to utilize memory.

        >Unused RAM is good, because it’s available when needed.
That’s quite literally why memory management exists and is dynamic. When RAM is not used by something, it’s wasted otherwise, if it can be used for something while free. The task that needs priority over memory gets it, while it’s never just sitting empty and unused when it can server a purpose.

        no compare this to LTSC:
Linux is FIVE (5) times more bloated than windows 10 HAHAHAHAHHAHA

Where Linux requires 40 GB, FORTY GIGABYTES, for installation, Windows 10 requires only 8.5GB, is lean, fast, efficient, up to date, and 100% secure with wpd.

On the other hand, Linux is a joke. Linux is bloated, slow af and not even stable which makes it insecure. This is because their kernel is 100MB and full of buggy drivers that FREETARDS MAKE THEMSELVES. THAT"S RIGHT, They think they are better than the manufacturers at making drivers HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. 99% of all the kernel is depreceated and can only run on 10 year-old hardware. THE UTTER CITY OF LINUX.
Then the seething freetards still cling to their wet dream of IT"S THE YEAR OF THE LINUX DESKTOP. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

      > 20% CPU usage right on boot up
      > 1.1 GB memory usage on idle
      > Of course you’re using an SSD, Windows would choke on a HDD and your already thin point would tip over and fall flat on its face even sooner
      > Up time of 19 seconds, the OS could still be booting up for all we know, skewing the results of how many resources it’ll consume on actual idle

All this stuff is kinda OK on its own, but …

      > This ANNIHALATES every Linux distro in performance

Hahahaha, nope! I’ve seen Ubuntu XFCE use just 500 MB of RAM on idle, and most Linux distros I’ve used have managed to keep idle CPU usage basically near 0 on every device I remember testing them on. Even if we take the most bloated or inefficient Linux distros around, they still meet these CPU-usage and memory metrics perfectly fine.

Best case scenario, Windows 11 and 10 "keep up" with Ubuntu and the like. That is respectable, but suggesting that Windows is not only superior but also VASTLY superior despite similar at best metrics is completely empty-headed shill speak, like you’re just pulling numbers out of your ass to vaguely support what you’re talking about and you’re too lazy or stupid to even check that they’re the right ones, hoping your audience to be more idiotic than you are. Even by your biased and poorly conducted comparison, the difference in stats you suggest is hardly "Annihalation".

Learn how to actually set up a controlled trial properly, learn what different words in the English language actually mean, learn when hyperbole is an appropriate tool for communication, and learn to earn money without sucking the dick of a massive corporate sponsor for pennies a day, because you have to be smarter than all of this, no matter what OS you use. Until then, please shut the fuck up about this stuff, because you’re embarrassing yourself.
