GuestWhy does OP pretend that some random fanart of a long-dead monarch is indicative of modern Europeans "worshiping nobility"?

GuestWhy do you pretend like this is "just some fanart"?
Pic related, Natalia Poklonskaya, member of the Russian Duma (parliament) with an icon of Nicholas II.>comparing Nicholas II to Christ
isn’t that blasphemous?
It’s officially sanctioned by the Russian orthodox church.
only people who really need to take their meds "worship nobility"
Majority of russians adhere to the orthodox church.
Orthodox church official doctrine is worship of Nicholas II.
Therefore majority of russians need meds.-

That doesn’t make it any less blasphemous. What ever happened to ‘no graven images’?-

Guestlol you’re grasping at straws. Orthodox, Catholic, and high-church protestants pray to saints to pray to God for them. You can play semantic games all you want but that doesn’t hide the fact.

Guesteven if this was definitive proof that orthodox (eastern) europeans generally "worship" nobility, they’re not the ones crying about social injustice in 3rd world shitholes like india anyway so your point is still scrotebrained

GuestYou don’t seem to understand.
>social injustice bad
>inherent hierarchy bad
and in the same breath
>praying for nobility
>praying TO nobility
it’s as though they don’t see nobility as a hierarchy you’re born into, which is exactly what the caste system is.-

GuestNobody is actually doing those things "in the same breath" as you say, though. The conservative orthodox types are not the same people concerned with social injustice in India and such.
-

GuestMaybe not "concerned" but definitely looking down on India. The general zeitgeist in Europe is that the caste system is something unique to India and viewed negatively, and yet this same zeitgeist also permits most people to worship nobility.

Guesteven if all of what you are saying is true, what makes you foist this onto "europeans" if anything it seems like a russian specific phenomenon no? And Russians are weird about this shit, I saw a poll where they fan boy Nicky, Stalin, and Lenin all equally, which is bizarre in its own but has nothing to do with "europeans" outside of russians, many of whom are not european

GuestBecause Catholics do this too.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=PXzvMF7Dx6g
UK’s national anthem is literally "God save the Queen" and said queen is the leader of the Anglican church who’s power is granted directly from God, by Anglican doctrine.
So we’ve got Catholics, orthodox, Anglicans… how much more do you need. I’m sure I can find something like this on Calvinists as well if I must but I think this covers the vast majority of Europeean population. -

Guest> I saw a poll
Most of such internet polls are rigged.
Kremlin deliberately tries to fabricate artificial support of Nikky so as not to look too weak.IRL Stalin takes the lead, Lenin is somewhere on the second/third place (with Brezhnev).

GuestThe idea that Martyrs embody Christ is hardly new or sacreligious. This image is a bit egregious, maybe, but ultimately there’s no real conflict between its message and Christian orthodoxy (or Orthodox Christianity).

GuestDidn’t most pre modern societies have caste system? There’s no actual caste system enshrined in institutions in India anyway. Caste differences didn’t got eroded because capitalism enhances any socioeconomic divide between groups because of how it works(rich getting richer, poor getting poorer). This visible socioeconomic divide(similar to blacks vs whites shit in us) reinforces cultural stereotypes about lower caste people being dumb.
