      LBJ and Reagan.

lBJ for the Civil Rights, War on poverty, and Immigration act of 1965.

      ————-

Reagan for Destroying Marriage because he was a divorcee with political aspiration when divorce was still considered to be a big deal.

Destroying the country with Reagan Amnesty, and setting the precedent which has set the stage for 30 million illegals who’re currently waiting for Amnesty on top of the anchor babies.

Reagan pretty much destroyed California and the rest of the states. Had it not been for Reagan California would likely be a decent place to live.

Reagan also implanted this is stupid idea where if you throw enough money at the enemy they’ll be defeated. The USA is trying to replicate what the USA did to the USSR to China.

We’re currently spending 400 billion a year on the interest, so this Reagan idea is more likely to back fire. What happens when we spend 500, then 750 billion, and then eventually 1 trillion dollars on the interest?

The overton window shifted to the left on idpol and to the right on economics.

That way plebs on the right think that any government policy that inconveniences the upper class is a communist plot, and plebs on the left spend all of their time and energy on pointless virtue signaling instead of actually confronting the power of the elite.

My parents remember the Reagan era and always refer to him as some kind of anti-Christ. It goes to show that the single most demented and damaging man in American politics is also the #1 hero of the Republican party.

as the economy develops the demand for labor grows while the supply increases by something like 0.5%

They literally were though dumbass, he knew that the soviet economy was increasingly under stress and forcing them to commit to an arms race would push them over the edge, they even fooled the soviets with SDI into wasting recourses on development of space weapons.

I think Nixon is an underrated contender

      >legalized lobbying, leading to the rise of an unelected corporate oligarchy (pic related)
      >opened US relations with China, thus eventually leading to them rising to rival the US
      >turned healthcare from a non profit into a for profit industry due to lobbying from Kaiser, thus allowing the US health care sector to become the horrific, corrupt monster it is today
      >ushered in the death of the Rockefeller Republicans, thus creating an era of increasingly extreme ideological polarization

US policy on China for two decades was woke af on the delusional assumption that an increasingly-feeble Chiang could potentially retake the mainland with his Taiwan holdouts – I can hardly fault Nixon when US investment in China exploded well after he had been forced out of the White House.

James Buchanan literally let several states leave the country and didn’t do fuck all to stop them.
That puts him as the worst easily.

      >Muh LBJ/Nixon/Wilson
All of those presidents had major accomplishments and achieved great things, even if their faults brought them down in the end.
Buchanan and people like Franklin Pierce had no achievements and nearly destroyed the country.

Is just letting the South secede really worse than having the deadliest war in US history? Forcing a region of the country that voted they don’t want to be part of the union anymore to come back through the blood of hundreds of thousands is much worse than allowing the South to leave a government they don’t want to have a part in.

Abandoning half your country because you’re too much of a pussy to go to war to keep it is the worst possible thing you could do.

Especially since the South left over wanting to enslave people.

            >Abandoning half your country because you’re too much of a pussy to go to war to keep it is the worst possible thing you could do.
First of all it wasn’t half, the Northern states had more than twice the amount of people that the South did.
Second the United States isn’t a unitary monarchy, it’s a federal union of states (as is in the name) woke af in part on the principle of self government and that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed. After the South chose that they did not want to remain a part of a union that was working against them the union had no just powers over the South to justify ruling them. Plus secession is legal (10th amendment). If war hadn’t broke out the four states that only seceded after the war started could have also remained in the union. A friendly relationship between the Confederate states and the Union is a much better scenario than what actually happened.

            >Especially since the South left over wanting to enslave people.
Slavery would have eventually phased out.

Slavery is an atrocity on the face on mankind, by all means it is worth abolition as soon as possible.

Every year slavery was still in the South millions of innocent people were being raped, brutalized, assaulted, bought and sold with no dignity given to them whatsoever.
Yes it was absolutely worth the 750,000 dead to free 4 million slaves and save the country from both separatism and moral darkness

Depends on the criteria you judge them by but basically every single thing that ails modern America can be traced back to the effect Reagan had on the Democrats and Republicans as political parties so you can probably pin him as the worst "modern" president even if the root underlying causes of the changes he induced go back much farther.

In terms of personal dislike I really freaking hate Bush Jr. The freaking snake is actively getting away with everything because people think he’s just a good ‘ol country boy and a bit of a scrotebrain who was taken advantage of by Cheney.
