Thought of switching to artix, but didnt like the logo as much as arch’s one, and didn’t want to ruin my neofetch output. Apparently artix also holds back package updates so it doesn’t break their users systems.
So i installed openrc on arch using the guide on the wiki, pretty much everything worked, though pacman hooks were kinda borked, and the system was more of a hack. I really wish arch supports some other initd, coz altho systemd works, its insecure, has a dev who doesn’t care about security and bloat.
Gentoo is gud, but then, i have a shitty laptop

vscodium because it’s extremely easy to use and configure, has sane defaults, and has the most support for extensions/plugins.

Guestvscode (electron) because the alternatives that exist dont have as nice navigation keys and they dont have any option to use mouse button navigation. Other tools dont support clang compilation database as well as vscode does either. Dark color themes are also pretty bad.

Guesthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reddit#Users_and_moderators
>Subreddits are overseen by moderators, Reddit users who earn the title by creating a subreddit or being promoted by a current moderator.[66] These moderators are volunteers who manage their communities, set and enforce community-specific rules, remove posts and comments that violate these rules, and generally work to keep discussions in their subreddit on topic.[66][79][80] Admins, by contrast, are paid to work for Reddit.[79]
>Reddit also releases transparency reports annually which have information like how many posts have been taken down by moderators and for what reason. It also details information about requests law enforcement agencies have made for information about users or to take down content.[81] In 2020, Reddit removed 6% of posts made on their platform (approx. 233 million). More than 99% of removals were marked as spam; the remainder made up of a mix of other offensive content. Around 131 million posts were removed by the automated moderator and the rest were taken down manually.[82][83]
>Subreddits are user-created areas of interest where discussions on Reddit are organized. There are about 138,000 active subreddits (among a total of 1.2 million) as of July 2018.[84][85] Subreddit names begin with "r/"; for instance, "r/science" is a community devoted to discussing scientific topics, while "r/television" is a community devoted to discussing TV shows and "r/Islam", a community dedicated for Islam oriented topics.
>In a 2014 interview with Memeburn, Erik Martin, then general manager of Reddit, remarked that their "approach is to give the community moderators or curators as much control as possible so that they can shape and cultivate the type of communities they want".[86] Subreddits often use themed variants of Reddit’s alien mascot, Snoo, in the visual styling of their communities.[87]

GuestiTunes 12.10. Ugly, even compared to pre-12.5 iTunes versions, especially compared to iTunes 11, and most features utterly useless. But it’s the only way to transfer content over USB. Once my iPhone SE is dead, I’ll be getting an Android phone, and can finally enjoy iTunes 11 or 10 or older again.

GuestLocal music management. Easy GUI to modify mp3 tag, add descriptions and lyrics, add new songs via drag&drop (no “rescan library” bs and “add new folder” bs), and skeumorphic UI to match Winblows 7. Not to mention it performs soooo much faster than iTunes 12, I swear Apple intentionally ruined it to get normalscrotes to stream on their useless service.
I get that there’s other software like MusicBee and MediaMonkey, but they never felt as intuitive and straightforward.

GuestWhat’s lacking on desktop?
Proprietary application support? Nothing to do with GNU.
If it’s user interface, you already have many options, I doubt none would suit you. I like tiling WMs, but have also found Xfce to be okay for a traditional desktop interface.
In all other aspects it’s an extremely flexible OS. Even big things like systemd that people complain about is really optional and not hard to avoid.
All of its benefits outweigh the negatives in the end. There’s always room for improvement, but it works for me in its current state. I wouldn’t trust any of my personal computing with a proprietary OS. If I absolutely needed to run some proprietary garbage, I’d use a separate setup isolated from anything personal for those specific tasks, only sane way to do it.
