There was no bullshit. If it was legal in the US, you could post it, and probably illegal stuff too on smaller servers. As discord gained popularity, things were bound to turn out they way they did, the only discord-specific thing that went wrong was hiring extreme left pedophile furries in high positions.-
I wish more people called out the pedophile staff but it seems they either ignore it or just are pedophiles themselves, it’s one of the biggest platforms run today run by actual confirmed freaks. Not to mention all the actual grooming that happens and never gets reported.

Many big servers eventually get drained of their userbase and end up being used only by a small circle of furscrote pedo trannies, and I really mean that they’re all three of those things. I don’t get it.

how in the world are you all using discord that randoms can invade your server and ruin your experience? or are you using discord like a pseudo-anonymous facebook, which is not at all the intent of the product? discord is GREAT at what it’s supposed to be: a user friendly chat client for like-minded people to discuss and share the content that the server is geared for.
as soon as a server has more than 500 truly active users, it should just split into smaller servers. it’s no one’s fault but yours if you use a piece of software or a website outside of its useful boundaries. see /soc/ for example.-

I admin three medium sized servers all with hundreds of people and a dozen others with fewer than a hundred and have had no issues whatsoever, aside from random bots and invasions which are an issue for literally every semi-public space on the internet. Only thing separating element from becoming discord is desktop sound sharing, at least that’s what I felt was missing.

And a stable server implementation since Synapse is dogshit and Dendrite isn’t ready yet. But the largest missing feature holding it back is definitely group voice chat / voice chat in general without relying on bullshit like Jitsi. There were some proof of concept Mumble integrations but nothing close to being remotely ready even if you know exactly what you’re doing.
But sadly I doubt it will ever get there since the team seems to be completely scrotebrained and rather opens 20 different new projects instead of focusing on fixing and refining what’s already there.
