GuestChrome is the Internet Explorer of the modern era. It’s a shame there’s no modern Netscape.

GuestConsidering Chrome has nasty adware addons all over the place and still very little features considering its bloat and RAM usage its incredible people still run it over Firefox (the most advanced and most customizable browser on the planet) that constantly give it fierce competition in speed.
Only hipster js webdevs run Chrome, so they can make every page incompatible with any other browser and override click events like a fucken maniac.

Guest>MUH CUSTOMIZATION
No one needs your scrotebrained vertical tabs or whatever shit you use. People want a browser that works with all websites they use and works fast.-

GuestQutebrowser if you wanna learn a little bit. I can browse the web with one hand and it’s really novel. The only thing I don’t like is configuration and afaik some composite commands can’t be changed through rebinding inside the web browser. Otherwise it has more compatibility than ungoogled chromium in specific instances.

Guestvideo is getting slightly better with each update but still bad, the UI for video and PiP sucks. everything else is supreme. If my computer gets sluggish after a month of two of not closing anything I can always rely on vivaldi to restart itself perfectly, grab an extra few hundred MB of ram back and trust it will pick up back exactly where it left off. I dare not risk doing that with firefox when I run out of memory – it’s usually the culprit for causing the memory full error.

Guest>imagine the collective open-source bazaar being subverted by the cathedral putting vendors on the bazaar as well
>Chrome
Google
>Linux
RedHat, IBM, IntelJust like in crypto if someone holds 50% of the coins controls the networks, as soon as sourcescrotes allowed professionals to dump more code than them, the companies paying those professionals took over the destiny of supposedly "free" software. Case in point: systemd, and now GNOME as well.
>muh forks
good luck against Google breaking your fork intentionally (like they did to Opera, IE, Edge and now Firefox) -

GuestFor desktop, Librewolf is pretty nice.
For mobile, I’d like to use Bromite/Fennec but they’re shit. Bromite doesn’t block ads well and Fennec/Firefox is slow as fuck. Unironically, Brave is the best open source browser for mobile. Sadly, there’s no good open source browser with extension support for mobile.
>inb4 Kiwi browser
proprietary
>inb4 adaway/hosts
doesn’t block ads well enough and doesn’t protect against trackers
There’s ungoogled chromium but they dropped extension support lol, Doesn’t have QOL features like bottom toolbar either. -

GuestThat’s why all software should be FOSS
When people come together they can build the perfect products without any money
You can apply that to all walks of life, unfortunately capitalism ruins a perfect world we could all live in
