It wouldn’t be hard to fix the innovation issue but the profit motive isn’t there. Things like AR, advancements in gene sequencing, ML, sat phones, etc. are waiting to be tapped.
Jobs wasn’t unique because he was a visionary. Jobs was unique because he was a visionary with a large net worth and investors that could pay to bring his ideas to fruition. Anyone with money nowadays would rather buy real estate or maybe build a shitty CRUD app over chancing it on your personal-helicopter-for-commuters idea.

      Nintendo switch
      Steam Deck
      VR headsets
      Self driving electric cars
      A new type of vaccine
      Genomics and precision medication
      AI
      5G
Oh but because Apple jezuz died the world stopped… Right… Fuck off scrote

All of that seems pretty irrelevant except electric cars, 5g and genomics.
The number of people who own VR shit is abysmally small. It hasn’t caught up, games suck too.
AI has just made it easier for corporations to make more money out of your data. Oh and answering voice commands, I guess. Not even that many people use those. Game consoles are mostly just more powerful and cheap versions of already well established concepts except maybe for the switch gimmick.

None of this shit is as revolutionary as the first iphone was.

How exactly was the first iphone "revolutionary"? I would argue everyone else beat them to the punch and I miss physical keyboards.

The iphone was a collection of preexisting tech put into one package.
It popularized the concept of a smartphone by leveraging already existing apple fanboys and having a sleek almost button free design.

I dont think the iphone was innovative but it was definetly a huge influence on the future of tech. Every smartphone after it was also touch screen only and thats still the case to this day.

5G is gay. it is a scrotes bandwidth. no upstanding heterosexual male would consider using that region of the electromagnetic spectrum for communications

iOS is the source of that stagnation. Everyone waits to see what comes out of Timies poopyhole before they do anything.

I for one am sadden by the loss of a true tech visionary. Without him who knows not just where society but me as well would be. I remember my first day working at Apple when Steve came up to us new hires and warned us about the dangers of user choice and doing what everyone else is doing. Pic included of me at work diligently doing my job.
