servers use linux. most people rely on or use services that run on linux. however, linux was never intended to run on anything but a server, and thats immediately apparent when you see what an abomination desktop linux is

Yeah, Stallman didn’t create GNU for everyone. Just servers. Big companies and the like.
Linus Torvalds’ famous email was about him messing around on a server. Definitely not his own personal computer.

No ads here with ublock origin in medium mode and all built-in filters enabled except regions/languages.
I also don’t watch videos in the browser. I use the Open With extension to view them in mpv.

Edge is also faster and has better resource usage. Security as well since it’s woke af off chromium. And MS is adding new security features.

You have to be more specific. They already mention pros and cons and what needs to be done. Unless you’re playing video games in your browser that requires web assembly you should be fine. But they say they plan on adding it.
            >Web Assembly is not supported in this mode. We hope to slowly enable new mitigations and add Web Assembly support over the next few months as we continue testing

Nah I don’t think you’re baiting, I’m an EdgeLord too!

Seriously though, it seems good with resources (battery life on a laptop, not just the ram), supports ublock, isn’t as ugly as either firefox or chrome, has a nice pdf reader that can read things to you with an indian accent, etc etc. It’s really just nice. Seems to have the best scrolling experience too somehow.

What I like about Firefox’s sync is that it’s fully encrypted, but it sometimes takes 30 minutes for things to actually show up on my phone/PC.
Chrome’s sync is near instant, but it doesn’t sync the full history when you have the encryption enabled.
How’s Edge’s sync speed-wise? Also can you encrypt your data? Because I’m not storing that in plaintext.

If you’re not aware, telemetry helps improve software. I wouldnt be surprised if people disabling telemetry is part of the reason why firefox is going under. Even now on their latest releases it’s becoming increasingly harder to disable. And even on other browsers that tout themselves as privacy conscientious have telemetry that can’t be disabled (vivaldi, brave, etc.)
This may be a hard pill to swallow, but telemetry is needed to make soffware better on all types of hardware and operating systems.

I actually turned Firefox’s telemetry back on when they started tracking if people even used compact mode when they decided they should remove it for the redesign. I still have telemetry on, and now that they’re bringing compact bookmarks back with 93 next week, I hope I had a small part in that.

Lets see how you fair on a browser unreliant of a major browser and without any telemetry in a few years. The modern web is ever changing and will not play nice with stagnant browsers.

yes, everything that is woke af on blink will feel nicer to use because blink has more resources for optimization, and also because of the network effect, people don’t test their sites on gecko because not many people use it.

      What makes it better, OP?
      Does it have email anonymizing/relay?
Does it automatically containerize Facebook, Instagram, etc.?
Does it have a focus on privacy?
Does it sync history with a mobile counterpart?
Does it automatically generate and sync complex passwords?
Does it have thousands of community-made themes?
Does it have a built-in VPN?
Can you pick & choose every button of the interface and their location?
Does it have its own unique engine?
Does it have a hex color dropper?
All those features sure would be neat.

Can anyone tell me what the catch is with Librewolf? I find it absolutely amazing compared to others that I’ve tried.

      I’ve tried:
      >Firefox
forces pocket propaganda, Mozilla firing antigay guy, Mozilla trying to get Stallman removed from some free software organization, shoves B!tch to Boss onto users, etc etc
      >Chrome
no thank you, but are unchromium ones or whatever worth trying out?
      >Edge
      no thank you x2
      >Brave
actually did use at one point for a while for whatever reason
      >Opera
tried, but didn’t like it much and heard bad things about them
      >Tor
shills vaccines, shills masks, also spoke out against Stallman, literal Feds working for them adding exploits
      >SeaMonkey
not awful will use for some things
      >Palemoon
made by a freaking furry liked it but then they removed extensions i thought love the way it looks though
      >Librewolf
Not Mozilla and much better feels fantastic works fantastic

Any others to try or is Librewolf the best?

Yup. Getting rid of Eric because he was christian was beyond scrotebrained. What makes it even more crazy was how the media and other sites ran a hit campaign on him too. Like porn sites for fuck sakes that wouldn’t even exist without the JavaScript he made. You never saw him bitching about how JavaScript was used. But heaven forbid he donated 1k to a private Christian organization during 2008 election.
