GuestCCTV footage at a Los Angeles hotel showed 21 year old Elisa Lam behaving strangely for several minutes before eventually entering an elevator. Days later, her dead body was found inside a water tank on the roof of the hotel. It is unknown how or why she entered the tank.

GuestThis case and this one
Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers were two young Dutch women who disappeared while hiking in Panama. Several months later, their bones were discovered, along with some of their belongings. Some strange photos were taken with their smartphones, and their call-logs suggested they were trying to contact help. A cause of death was never determined, although one forensic scientist noted that there were no scratches or marks of any kind on the bones.
Are always the most gas lit cases on any forum. People will not give you any time of day than the official story.
You anons who have had even a slight hint of any mental illness in your past because god forbid something happens to you, that’s all anyone is ever going to look at or bring up. It’s case closed for them

GuestWhat if she played the elevator game, and her consciousness got into another dimension, making her see shit that didn’t exist in the physical world?
Maybe not true, but that’s the best theory I got. -

GuestThere are two possibilities, she was a schizo who killed herself, or she was a schizo who got killed by the police who were part of a sex slave ring.
She wasn’t just a schizo, she was a schizo who didn’t take her meds and took shit that turns normal people into schizos instead. She didn’t lock herself in from the outside – she could have been dead for days when it was locked. It’s supposed to be locked, somebody forgot, next shift maybe somebody else didn’t forget. Let’s not forget the hotel is entirely untrustworthy: They could have ignored the lock until it made them look bad, then put the lock up without telling anyone.
The case of Elisa Lam only seems strange if you assume the hotel is trustworthy. If you assume the hotel is trustworthy, I can safely assume that you are scrotebrained as they got caught selectively editing and releasing security cam footage to suit their interests. We know what happened to her – she drowned somewhere stupid while on drugs that weren’t the drugs she was supposed to be on, which then mostly decomposed. We will never know if she was put there by sex traffickers who bought off the police or if she put herself there.

Guest>Mathias, of Yuba City, California, is the only one of a group of five men who disappeared after buying junk food and snacks at a Chico market on the night of 24 February 1978, but who has not been found. Their car was found several days later on a winding dirt road high in the Sierra Nevada; why they were there, well off their route home, and why they abandoned a car that was apparently in good working order, is not known. In June of that year, the remains of three were found in the woods where they had died of exposure; a fourth was found in a trailer 20 miles (32 km) from the car, where he had starved to death after suffering severe frostbite, despite the availability of food, heat, and warmer clothing. Mathias, too, is believed to have made it to that trailer, but left it at some point.

GuestA man identifying himself as Dan Cooper boarded a plane bound for Seattle in 1971, demanded $200,000 in cash, then parachuted out into a thunderstorm. He was never identified, and only a small amount of the money he stole was ever found.
This is one of the greatest mysteries ever, IMO. Cooper was like a real-life James Bond villain, and he actually managed to get away with it.
It’s also worth mentioning that Cooper never actually called himself "D.B. Cooper". It was a mistake on the part of the media reporting the story that led to him being called that.-

It was a mistake on the part of the media reporting the story that led to him being called that.I wonder how he navigated successfully after landing. I’ve always assumed the investigators messed the dropzone up. I wouldn’t say this is a mystery, as it seems pretty obvious that he got away with most of the money!

A lot of the money has been found in the woods and positively identified as the same bills Cooper had. Because of the amount of money found and the wide distribution of it, investigators think his jump was unsuccessful and he died.

GuestInvestigators believe Jennifer Kesse was abducted outside her Orlando condominium on January 24th, 2006. Her car was later found at a nearby apartment complex. Security cameras at the complex took several pictures, 3 seconds apart, showing an unidentified person parking and walking away from her car. The person’s face is obscured in all photos, and their identity, as well as Jennifer’s whereabouts, remain a mystery.

Nice freaking blog but there’s two possibilities here – the wimpy european girls died from exposure and their remains were cleaned by scavanging animals, or their known serial killer tour guide lead the wimpy european girls away from the main path to rape and loot them before leaving them to die of exposure and their remains were cleaned by scavanging animals.

Guest6 people were killed between 1918 and 1919 in New Orleans by an assailant known only as the Axeman of New Orleans. In a famous letter supposedly written by the Axeman, he claimed to be demon rather than human, and very fond of jazz music. In the letter, the writer spoke of his plan to kill in the early morning of March 19th, 1919, but any house playing jazz music would be spared. No murders were committed that night.

GuestIn 1984, a German man named Gunter Stoll, after showing signs of severe paranoia, screamed "Jetzt geht mir ein Licht auf!" ("Now I’ve got it!"), and wrote the letters YOGTZE on a piece of paper, then immediately scratched them out. He was later found naked after a car crash, claiming 4 men had been with him. He died on the way to the hospital, and the 4 men (if they even existed), were never found.

GuestPatricia Meehan crashed her car on the night of April 20th, 1989, after driving on the wrong side of the road. Immediately following the crash, she emerged from her car, and stared, motionless, for several minutes at the wreckage, before turning around and running into a field, never to be seen again. She was nearly 400 miles from her home, though neither the police nor her family could offer an explanation for this.

Guesthttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Reeser
>At roughly 8 a.m. on July 2, 1951, Reeser’s landlady Pansy Carpenter arrived at Reeser’s door with a telegram. Trying the door, she found the metal doorknob to be uncomfortably warm to the touch and called the police.
Reeser’s remains, which were largely ashes, were found among the remains of a chair in which she had been sitting. Only part of her left foot (which was wearing a slipper) and her backbone remained, along with her skull. Plastic household objects at a distance from the seat of the fire were softened and had lost their shapes.
Reeser’s skull had survived and was found among the ashes, but shrunken (sometimes with the added descriptive flourish of ‘to the size of a teacup’). The extent of this shrinkage was enough to be remarked on by official investigators and was not an illusion caused by the removal of all facial features (ears, nose, lips, etc.). The shrinking of the skull is not a regular feature of alleged cases of spontaneous human combustion (SHC), although the ‘shrunken skull’ claim has become a regular feature of anecdotal accounts of other SHC cases and numerous apocryphal stories.

Ever notice that SHC has never been caught on film and only happens to people who were dead already? I noticed.

GuestIn July of 2014, Lars Mittank, a German man on vacation in Bulgaria, began acting strangely, and sending paranoid text messages to his mother. Security camera footage at Varna Airport showed him running outside, where he was seen hopping over a fence and running into a wooded area. He has not been seen since.

GuestThis shit is so crazy. I’ll try to summarize:
>family’s house catches fire under mysterious circumstances
>parents and some children survive, but not all of them
>several bones found, unknown if they belong to the missing children
>some people claim to have seen the children, accompanied by some threatening looking men, in nearby areas
>photo arrives in mail several years later depicting a man who looks similar to one of the missing children
>private investigator is hired to investigate, but he disappears and is never found-

GuestI would like to point out that the lack of modulation of the Wow! Signal is actually ideal for a beacon, adding to the fact that it is narrow-band (and thus nearly impossible for mother nature to generate). You wouldn’t want your first signal to aliens to be some weird encoding scheme or form of frequency modulation they’d never figure out, your first message would be to establish contact, to inform your new alien friends of your position and capability. Complicating this with a message would only undermine your attempts to be noticed by alien senpai. I don’t believe we’ve ascertained the exact spot the signal came from, just a couple of regions, and I think attempts to rescan the region for more signals have been inconsistent at best.

GuestBefore he disappeared, Matthew Weaver sent 2 distressed text messages to a girl that he had spent the previous night partying with. The next day, near the area where he was last seen, a person called 911, claiming to have heard a man and a woman screaming for help. Police searched the area, and found Weaver’s car, abandoned, but no signs of life. These two text messages were the last anyone would ever hear from him.

GuestIn December 1982, several people claimed to see a "distressed" woman walking alongside a road in Mississippi, carrying a very young girl. Two days later, a truck driver called police to report seeing the body of an adult woman floating down a nearby river. Searching the river, police found the body of a young girl, dubbed "Delta Dawn", who had died one or two days before. Her identity was never discovered, and the adult woman seen floating in the river was never seen again.

GuestI’ll take over for a bit, OP.
On February 1st, 1959, in what is now Russia, nine skiers died during a camping trip, when authorities investigated the camp site in Dyatlov Pass, to find the abandoned tent, ripped open from the inside.
The surrounding area was covered in the foot prints of the party moving towards the edge of the nearby woods. In the woods the first two bodies were found, shoeless and in just their underwear. It was assumed hypothermia on the spot by medical examiners.
A closer study of the two and the other seven found frozen months later would show that hypothermia was not the demise of the wayward campers, but a combination of blunt force trauma indicative of assault, third degree burns, vomiting blood, and a missing tongue on one of the hikers. Along with a unusual amount of radiation coming from the clothing of the group.

GuestScientific experiment on the effects of atomic weapons on humans in mid-range. Hence the burns, radiation and vomiting blood. When officials came to "collect the data", some of them were still living and they were put to death by blunt force trauma (shooting would be too obvious of a murder case or would distort data). Some of them were found further apart from the others, which could be the least injured trying to get help, falling to their death somewhere or getting buried by an avalanche, eyes and tongue later eaten by animals. Maybe they knew, what was happening to them, radiation, atomic explosion (they were academics after all) and in panic tried to at least get shelter from the radiation in the woods, which is why they did not return to the tent.

GuestThis is not much of a mystery once you have all of the pieces. Suffering greatly from hypothermia, the experienced hikers wisely decide to warm up and settle in for the night. However, they hear loud booms, and assume a great avalanche is coming. Ironically, the correct response is to do nothing – if I leave, I die to exposure, if I stay, I may die of snow. The mechanism to the tent has frozen, or the darkness has made it difficult to find, so a tent is cut open. They race out into the night, but no avalanche comes. It was military testing. The gang argues fiercely over what to do next, perhaps a fight breaks out, in any case they die of exposure. They are later eaten by a variety of animals, the animals produce wounds, eat tongues, you get the idea. The extensive government cover-up is due to the military testing, but the radiation in my view contributes only to the mystery, not to their deaths. You don’t die from vomiting blood a couple of times, you die from exposure, stress, trauma, you fall down onto a rock, you get attacked by a bear or your friend who lost his mind as he died from exposure, you burn to death in your last second desparate attempt to warm up after your stupidity and panic drove you away from the safety of your tent. Don’t make me explain paradoxical undressing, you should know what that is if you have ever had even the slightest interest in exposure deaths.

GuestThe radiation came from the clothes of one of the men who had worked in a nuclear research facility. Only his clothes was irradiated but they swapped clothing items so it confused investigators. It was definitely parachute bomb testing that got them out of the tent and go to the trees.

Winter solstice there is a real nice event.Nothing special about it, just some rocks arranged somewhat accurately. Generic early religions. Don’t believe the lugenpresse, they weren’t placed with magical alien precision. You see how large the gaps between the stones are? That’s on purpose, for the sun. Anyone can do that with such a large margin of error, you wouldn’t even need to measure the stones, just discard your failed attempt.

GuestIn January of 1947, a young woman by the name of Elizabeth Short was found brutally murdered in Los Angeles. The 22 year old’s body had been cleanly severed in half at the waist, and her intestines were neatly tucked under her backside. Her legs had been spread, her elbows bent upwards, and her hands positioned gracefully above her head, not unlike like those of a ballet dancer. Her face had been carved from the corners of her mouth, all the way up to her ears, forming a scar commonly known as a Glasgow smile.
In the decades since, Short has become one of the most famous murder victims in American history. Her murder came less than a year after the release of a famous murder-mystery film starring Alan Ladd, which may well be how Short came to be known as the Black Dahlia.
Her killer has never been identified.-

GuestIn the summer of 1987 an Arizonian woman and her sister were traveling to Kingman to visit family when car troubles cause them to pull into a hotel off the interstate. Since it was off season for the area (winter is really where it’s at in Northern Arizona) there were only two other guests at the hotel (a woman and her husband, age 46 and 53 respectively). Around 11pm the guests hear the slamming of a door 3 times with hushed tones. The next morning the two women were not found in their rooms but 2 miles down the road in a small wash. One woman was bludgeoned with a yellow tire iron and the other battered with a baseball bat; however, the weapons were never found and the murder weapons were speculated from autopsy. On investigation of their vehicle, no automobile problems were discovered.

In fact, it’s quite understandable – give your family some reason to believe you didn’t have a nice day, for instance, to reduce shame and redirect anger. It’s also natural to not want the face of your corpse to be seen, as the Romans were well aware.

What made these tracks mysterious was that they were a single trail; no second hoofmark to match the first. The veracity of the claims surrounding it are dubious, and there have been many theories created to try and explain it. I just thought it was interesting.

GuestMiriam García Iborra, Antonia "Toñi" Gómez Rodríguez and Desirée Hernández Folch, known as the Alcàsser Girls (Spanish: Las niñas de Alcácer), were three teenage girls from Alcàsser, Valencia, Spain who were kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered after hitchhiking to get to a nightclub in the nearby town of Picassent on 13 November 1992. The case has become notorious in Spain due to the extreme brutality of the crimes, the highly criticized police investigation, and the resulting media coverage.
The autopsies revealed the existence of seven hairs with seven distinct DNA profiles, none of them belonging to any of the girls or either of their alleged murderers, Antonio Anglés and Miguel Ricart. Of the two, Ricart was the only one jailed; the whereabouts of Anglés, still among Interpol’s most wanted criminals, remains unknown.

GuestBetween April and May of 2019, the Parkes Observatory in Australia detected an extremely narrow-band radio signal coming from Proima Centauri (or anywhere in the 16 arcminute diameter of Proxima Centauri from our vantage point). The signal is not possibly of natural origin, however it has yet to be conclusively proven to be not from Earth or her many satellites. With a frequency of 982.002 MHz, the signal is very, very unlikely to be regular or military human communications. Indeed, this is in the band selected by earlier SETI groups as a likely candidate for messages beamed specifically at us. More importantly, the extremely narrow band means it could not possibly be of natural origin – a natural source for this kind of signal would revolutionize physics. Its origin, if Proxima Centauri, is extremely exciting – this would indicate a network of alien radio broadcast centers had found the shortest single hop to Earth for an energy efficient ping. (Like how your phone connects to a tower, which connects to a tower, a tower, a tower, a datacenter, a tower, a tower, and finally the reciever of your message.) The consistent signal was observed for over 29 hours.
In December 2020, additional observations have failed to relocate the signal.-

GuestListen guys, I’m not saying it’s aliens, but it’s aliens. If you know of any schizos in stunningly perfect geosynchronous orbits who like to broadcast literally nothing directly towards our observatories at 982.002 MHz for over a day at a time, I’m all ears, but until then it’s aliens.

GuestSmall correction, the signal is not a form of communications because it’s not a message at all, it’s unmodulated. There’s no information in it. It is a beacon. Whether it is a beacon from the dumbest and most perfectly orbiting Earth satellite or a beacon from a stunningly close alien outpost is another question. Spoiler: It’s freaking aliens.

GuestDoes this thread make anyone else angry? It reminds me that there are animals like this out there who would do the most heinous shit to your loved ones if they can get away with it. I’m getting tracking phones, cars, guns, and security system on the house. If a schizo scrote tries this bullshit with me I’m killing him. Humans are such awful creatures.

Guestone time in santa cruz, ca at the bus depot late at night on a friday sometime in 2008, a man asked to use my phone. i let him. he walked away and i thought i had just been robbed. a few minutes later he came back and thanked me. and gave me my phone back.
the next day i checked the voicemail and there was a 15 minute long message, i’m assuming from the man who had borrowed my phone, dictating an insane life story and how he’d been poisoned and microchipped or something. it was schizo rambling but it was incredibly detailed. wish i still had it.-

GuestThere was a case a long time ago in Sweden that always made hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Restaurants were attacked by armed men in camo who temporarily took all inside hostage. They had a weird but terrifying MO. Nothing was stolen but among the captives one was chosen at random. This unlucky soul would be brutally and I mean BRUTALLY tortured to death. Then the assailants would leave. The police tried tracking them but eventually only came up with abandoned uniforms in the woods.
As I recall some suggested the hand of glowies playing a gruesome training exercise for when or if WWIII broke out. When there really -would- be RWDS and they wanted their operatives to be conditioned enough to do bonked up shit to anyone deemed an enemy. To make I guess cutting some rando’s dick off and deep frying it in front of him seem as mundane as mowing a lawn to whoever was meting this out.

GuestThree women, aged 18, 19, and 47, disappeared from a home in Springfield, Missouri at some point during the early morning hours of June 7th, 1992. Their house showed no signs of violence (except for a shattered glass lamp globe), their belongings were untouched, their cars were still in the driveway, and the family dog was inside the house, unharmed. No trace of the women has ever been found.

GuestI’m going to post one that I rarely see brought up. We had a nice discussion about it at the beginning of last year, and I’m going to include some of the stuff we discussed in that thread because I found it quite interesting. Maybe others here will too. So first I’ll do a quick synopsis followed by a longer rundown:
>August, 2010
>a 21-year old woman named Amber Tuccaro goes missing (pic related)
>no real leads, but there’s on piece of fascinating evidence
>a recording of Amber’s last phone call before she died
>in this recording, Amber is speaking with an unknown man
I’ll post a clip of this recording below, but first here’s the rundown of the known events from the night of her disappearance:
>Amber Tuccaro is traveling with her 14th-month-old son and a female friend
>they’re heading to Edmonton, the capital of Canada’s Alberta province
>short on cash, they’re crashing at a cheap hotel in Nisku
>at some point, Amber leaves the motel room (nobody is sure why)
>she never returns
>panicking, the female friend calls Amber’s mother, and she calls RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police)
>no leads, no sightings, absolutely nothing
>the case goes cold
>two years later
>the RCMP released a 1 minute snippet of a 17-minute long phone call that Amber had on her phone (posted below)
>where did this recording come from, you might ask
>get this, on the night she disappeared she placed a call to her sis
>this sis locked up in prison at the time (all prison calls are recorded)
>in the recording, Amber is asking an unknown man where they’re headed
>the tone of her voice seems scared
>she can be heard to say, "You better not take me where I don’t want to go," while the man keeps on insisting they are going to "50th Street" and "East," (where Amber was hoping to go)
>that’s the last time anyone hears from her

GuestSo the million dollar question is, "Who is the man on the recording?"
>two years after Amber’s case goes cold, her body is discovered
>three separate women subsequently come forward
>each is interviewed by CBC News
>they all claim to recognize the man’s voice
>one of these women said, “I’ve ridden with that voice before on several occasions. There’s no doubt in my mind that it’s his voice”
>this woman specifically reported the man to RCMP
>RCMP tells CBC News that they’ve looked into this man (unnamed) but have ruled him out as a person of interestSo here’s where things get a little fun. This “person of interest” turned out to be a man named Pat Carson, a registered sex offender. One of the anons in the thread decided to ring him up. I’ll post the contents of that discussion next. It’s some crazy shit

GuestThese are the words of the anon who called up Pat Carson:
>Pat operates Heffernan Heritage Homestead, a "wildcurrant" cultivation farm and horse ranch in Edmonton
>When I first called I asked him about a job saying that I’d read about it online
>he denied any such job existing
>I recorded the telephone call, but it was brief
Here is that telephone call
https://d1dhulrutqy2vh.cloudfront.net/89c5a09a-1dd0-455f-aecf-fc3e1cea7c76/voice_826205_01-29-2020-16-57-34.mp3Anon continues:
>after we got off the phone, Pat Carson called me back
>I was unable to record our subsequent conversation, but I admitted to him that I was a freelance journalist and that I was doing research for a story about Amber TuccaroApparently, Pat Carson was "dismayed" by this, but he went on to speak freely and made some spooky and crazy-sounding claims, such as these:
>his property sits on sacred indigenous land
>the wildcurrants that grow on this property have amazing health benefits
>if you brew the water with these wildcurrants, it removes all the toxins from the water
>this discovery has made Pat Carson a targeted individual
>there’s been a deliberate attempt to smear him in the public eye
>evidence was falsified in order to arrest him and register him as a sex offender so that the government could monitor his movement
>this campaign of intimidation culminated in the groundless accusation that he murdered Amber Tuccaro
>fighting the powers that be will only result in him losing his land, so he remains docileAt this point, someone pointed out a series of reddit posts mentioning Pat Carson. Pic related is one of them. Going through this stuff, it would appear that Pat Carson has a history of leading young women onto his ranch and acting inappropriately. But then again, he might just be the victim of a smear campaign, right?
>pepe the frog smug face.jpgAnyway, I found that story interesting. Felt like it suited the theme of the thread.

Presuming she didn’t accidentally speed dial her sis or something, this is pretty damn smart. She might have wanted a recording, but knew that if she went missing her phone would go missing too so she called her sis to get it recorded by the prison. Im just wondering if she was talking to some kind of a voicemail or like a "the citytown prison is currently not taking calls, please call back next morning" recording. -

GuestFrederick Valentich disappeared on October 21st, 1978, while flying an airplane over the ocean near Melbourne, Australia. Before he disappeared, Valentich contacted air traffic control and reported a mysterious object "orbiting" about 1,000 feet above him. Valentich told air traffic control that his plane’s engine was behaving strangely, before finally saying "It’s not an aircraft." He has never been found.

GuestI am a sucker for these kinds of things, they frighten me but they are just so damn interesting, especially the missing persons cases. One of the most famous of such occurrences in europe, finland happened in 1999, its still unsolved.
Sorry for the leddit link in advance but i could not find a better source in english. well worth the read: https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/7u5sqr/the_disappearance_of_16yearold_raisa_räisänen/
i hope it gets solved one day.
