they took a generic eastern divinity and poured their hellenic soul in it. it could be african or japanese, it is irrelevant.
a few centuries later europeans did the same with gnomish mythology.

Believe it or not Arabs were extremely virile and promiscuous in their pre-islamic age, they even had female chieftains

Dune coons hate women because their ancient goddesses were evil. Europe had comfy local goddesses like Athena and Demeter, but the Middle East had awful goddesses like Ishtar, the goddess of lust and murder, or Ereshkigal, the goddess of death.

      >The Greeks considered Adonis’s cult to be of Near Eastern origin. Adonis’s name comes from a Canaanite word meaning "lord" and most modern scholars consider the story of Aphrodite and Adonis to be derived from the earlier Mesopotamian myth of Inanna (Ishtar) and Dumuzid (Tammuz).

      >The Adonia (Greek: Ἀδώνια) was a festival celebrated annually by women in ancient Greece to mourn the death of Adonis, the consort of Aphrodite.

      >The festival, which was evidently already celebrated in Lesbos by Sappho’s time in the seventh century BC, seems to have first become popular in Athens in the mid-fifth century BC.[2][1]

      >Over the course of the festival, Athenian women took to the rooftops of their houses. They danced, sang, and ritually mourned the death of Adonis. They planted "Gardens of Adonis" – lettuce and fennel seeds, planted in potsherds – which sprouted before withering and dying. After the rooftop celebrations, the women descended to the streets with these Gardens of Adonis, and small images of the god; they then conducted a mock funeral procession, before ritually burying the images and the remains of the gardens at sea or in springs.[5] The rites observed during the festival are not otherwise paralleled in ancient Greek religion; like Adonis himself they probably originated in the Near East.[6]

to be fair Aphrodite comes from Astarte (Phoenician, originally a Sumerian deity called Inanna), Greeks and Phoenicians were racially similar, so they worshipped a Med woman similar to them

Aphrodite is levantine, Apollo is Hittite-Hurrian, Artemis is Hittite.

Dyonisus, Poseidon, Asclepius, Athena, Britomartis, etc are pelasgian.

Zeus, Hera, Helios, etc are balkanic neo-yamnayas.
