I don’t use a case on my iPhone since I’m not an insecure handlet that can’t hold his phone properly nor I work in conditions that expose my phone to dust or water.

Case after I dropped my $800 phone one month in and it cost $250 to replace the screen. It was in my lap when I got out of the car and didn’t realize, fell like 1 foot but it was gravel so it annihilated the actual screen

      $10 case, no screen protector.
I’ve never dropped my phone but I like the extra bulk it adds. My ideal phone would be the square profile razer phone from 2017 with the slightly grippy rubber texture of a thinkpad

Cases are scrotebrained. People want the thinnest phones possible, but then slap a case around it that doubles the size.
Besides, phones are sturdy enough to resist most normal drops. Just don’t drop it.

I have a thick phone, you chose a thin phone. But any individual is obviously not as big an influence as the general public who are all buying thin phones in droves.

The only phones being sold everywhere are thin ones. The only thicc phones you can buy are either mediatek chinkshit from aliexpress, niche trash like the pinephone that no one actually uses, or used phones with aftermarket batteries

I’d buy a thicker phone, even a short one had it not been a fact that all the pieces of shit phone companies are in bed with each other and made the exact same phone and pretend that somehow having a different brand makes it not a total 1:1 copy across the entire shartphone market

depends on what you do on a day to day basis.
the periods of time where i have been working on things or in the woodshop or on cars or just around the house i always have a case on and for good reason, when i go out aswell.
if im just at home spending time relaxing or doing daily tasks like going to the store or just visiting friends which is probably what most of this boards days are like i dont use a case. i really dont drop my phone doing those things and unless im wearing sweatpants i have never feared for anything happening.

if you’re the typicall LULZner no case.
if you do something physical every now and then always case

Case, at this point phones are like multimeters. You can use them without a case but for all intents and purposes you should use them with a case.

        Guest

Yeah, this is exactly how I feel about new phones, multimeters was first thing that came on my mind.
Case is part of the phone these days only it’s made to be replaceable.
Usually get 4-5 $1 silicone cases from aliexpress and replace when they get yellow.

I hate cases but new shit is so slippery, it just creeps over any surface. Got new phone, put it on car and it just slowly slid over it after couple of minutes fell on the tarmac and chipped screen.
It feels almost like new phones are made to be used with cases.

The only reason I’m using a case for my phone is because it came with it. It’s a Poco F3 and it comes with the USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter and a cheap silicone case. The case is useful since I intend to have one of those photos me clips for controllers like the 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ that I got a year or so ago for my Switch. It will help not trigger the power button with the clip.

I’m 22 and I’ve used them since I was 16 because they’re practical in storing a few essential cards, and yes they do tend to look professional in my opinion.
I’m not even an outlier either. Many zoomers use them where I’m from and the only people who ridicule us are foreigners on the internet.
