I think it basically has to do with the fact that most "gamers" know that what they’re doing is an unproductive waste of time, yet aren’t able to consciously admit this. Depends. Honestly, I’ve realized the open world-esque games like The Legend Of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, etc, have taught me more about decisions and life in general. I’ve found when I came back to them years later that they had a total impact on me, in terms of reinstating that I could make any decision I want in life.
