If they can consolidate this much power and control with a meme flu, imagine what they can accomplish with a false flag strike on the grid. It’s coming, and I say that simply because the incentives to do so are too powerful for (((them))) to ignore

It is a temporary shelter. Notice the garage above. It is connected to the house and you still have the comforts of your house only a few feet away. If danger is so immanent that you cannot risk going back in the house for 5 minutes then nobody will care about taking a shit in the same room.

It is a survival shelter. You’d end up staying there until the radiation from the fallout wasn’t at lethal levels. Usually 1-2 weeks after the bombs went off depending on where you are and what number of bombs went off where. The house itself would probably be inhabitable with basic protections in a few days. Taking a dump in front of dad is better than cancer you know.

A basic 10’x13′, 1 room, 4 beds, toilet & shower from Atlas Survival Shelters, using a Culvert Pipe is $50k to start, not included is installation, permits, inspections.
The model shown in the post is a minimum of $250k (for the build only)
Atlas currently has (as do most of the major companies) a 3 year backlog

how about forcing your daughter and wife to take dumps on you after a week of dehydrated survival food ? I think garden gnomes should start pushing incest survival porn so they can continue the degeneracy and Satanism even when the grid goes down.

Lolololol. That’s the first thought I have. Imagine subjecting your family to your disgusting shits off patriot supply survival food ? Or having to sniff your wife’s rotten crotch when she’s ragging it. I’d rather take that AR and go out killing.

When doing an emergency plan, you should plan how long you may need to be in there. For a nuclear strike, this is perfect. Wait it out, maybe a day or 2 and check outside conditions. That family probably has 4 to 7 days worth of supplies. Being in there for more than a day would be hell.
The point is temporary shelter, not a, "wait out the apocalypse" shelter.

This is why its important to practice for such situations. At least one weekend a month (and longer if its a bank holiday weekend), my wife, children and I will spend it in the on suite bathroom to mine/wifes bedroom. No one is allowed out, no electronic devices and we eat camping food from foil pouches. It really does bring us closer together.

Bomb shelter dot net is sadly only on archive now, the chap that ran the company is now a "Government Contractor", so you can imagine what he’s up to these days. He wrote a book "Principles Of Protection" which explains a lot of the thinking around how these are designed.

            For example

            I freaking ADORE THESE!
all underground bunkers have air intake.
I literally fantasize about setting fires at the air intake, or dumping chemical down and seeing what happens.

Also, wtf is that gun storage. lol

is defeated by installing soakaways and sumps in your air filtration system.

You raise a point though, if you do it by the book in this country, expect the State (or even the local council scum) to seize your shelter in a time of crisis.

Don’t worry about it, lad, the top of the country will be in their bunkers in New Zealand when it all breaks down. They don’t need yours.

Although, I do remember this so you might be able to.

The elite will be, but Karen, Abdul and Kev at the local council will probably remember your planning application and rock up with the ARU to confiscate your bunker "in the interests of national security" if they are aware of it.

They would be legally authorised to do so as well under our Civil Contingencies Act legislation

                    http://www.civildefence.co.uk/civil-defence-legislation.php

I mean, they let their own facilities fall into ruin after the ‘end’ of the Cold War, cheaper to just steal from people who give a shit about their own safety right? After all, what are the disarmed serfs going to do when you turn up with armed plod and the TA?

          >"The NBC filtration ventilation system is a air ventilation system that is used to maintain overpressure and give the required air exchanges to support the air supply needs of the occupants of a shelter"
Wait, I’m confused – if the purpose of an NBC vent is to keep air blowing out, then doesn’t that still leave a problem of not having any oxygen supply running into the bunker?

          • #85552
            Anonymous
            Guest

The vent brings air in to keep the bunker in positive overpressure, which keeps contaminants out (the outlet doesn’t necessarily have to be filtered too). Most bunkers are not airtight besides.

In terms of waiting out fires etc, you can get oxygen candles or generators for several days, while the bastard topside gets coated with extremely radioactive fallout dust.

So you can survive radioactive fallout even if you’re not in an airtight bunker? Am I understanding that right? Because that’s pretty handy if true

Depends on the bunker, but yes, generally they leak, and not every joint will be airtight. The protection from fallout is provided by the amount of rammed dirt you can pile on top – the thicker the better!

Bear in mind, you can dig your own fallout (or even a blast) shelter with little more than basic hand tools.

An internet blackout at this stage of the game would be akin to the same damage an emp would cause at least in the US. Industrial control systems are all now interlinked. It isn’t the lack of shitposting that’s the problem; it is the signal from the coal power plant getting to the nuke power plant which is carried over the internet.

Not impossible but we’ll rapidly realize what important things we’ve come to depend on the internet for, and have to quickly re-learn how to achieve them without it. On an individual scale, basic socializing and knowledge acquisition. On a wider scale banking, b2b communication. Supply chains are today long and that’s largely made possible by rapid global communication. Revert that to something much slower and it’s not possible to sustain the same chains at the same rate churning out the same supply.

The problem isn’t that things are impossible to do without the internet, it’s that we’ve chosen to use the internet for many things and adjusting away from it to any kind of Plan B will be disruptive.

It’s always been inevitable. You’ve just been living in a peacetime fantasy world this whole time.

Nukes, computers, biology, etc. are around mostly the last ~100 years. Right now the danger is much greater than anytime during all of history.

They could do anything: release viruses, make a fake solar flare, make robots, microwave guns (millimetre wave cannon), army of drones, explosive, non-lethal, soon it will be robot bees, nanotech, etc. and let’s not forget the behavioural prediction and control technology enabled by mass surveillance, social media, and AI/data mining. They can detect exactly who is going to become a political radical and in what way, and diffuse "movements" before they happen, they can put ideas and attitudes in your head, and make you think it’s your own idea – not even they know how it works, that’s the nature of a neural network.

You can’t conceive the implications in the abstract, and how they apply to your everyday life. The only people who can do this intuitively are people who are naturally paranoid, they skip all the steps involving intellect and just see the obvious implications of what’s going to happen/what can happen. That is why they predicted stuff like RFID chipping everyone for decades before it started to happen, and why they predicted the government would be able to remotely shut down your vehicle (Tesla removing steering wheels and programming cars to automatically respond to police lights/sirens).

It’s trivial now for anyone to do back-of-the-napkin math to say "Ok, 1 drone per person, $1000 per drone, it costs $1 billion to lock down a whole city indefinitely"

And in fact, Palmer Lucky, the little scrote who made the cool Oculus Rift dystopian VR toy for you to play with, is working on a giant deployable network of cheap helicopter drones, which enables real-time, millimetre-scale full-3D surveillance anywhere in the world. So you’re only limited by money and technology, and the price of those things will continue to decrease.

All the mechanisms for any sort of single "plot", event, takeover, etc. are all already in place. Keep in mind there are contingency plans, wargames, etc. that we do not know about. I doubt if any of you have read a secret government document out of the ones that have been released. Once "they" (the rich, the intellectual class, the garden gnomes, the antifa, the nazis, the lizards) decide, it’s truly over for present-day normal citizens.

The one saving grace is that the government is truly incompetent, unaware, and fragmented. But other than that, nothing stands between us and martial law, mass starvation etc. etc.

You are living in a dream world

Of course it’s not "bad", conditions are currently fine, but it’s like you’re standing on the edge of a knife 24/7. We’re very far into the danger-zone.

What I didn’t mention is that most of the technology stuff is created freely by corporations. Now imagine when the government starts handing out $50 billion contracts to companies that can actually build real things, like drone armies or social credit systems or anything you can imagine – Instead of just subsidizing old-ass companies like Boeing like they are today. Imagine when we have actually-functioning brain chips, and police/military get them for free. (More likely to happen in China first)

People just don’t get it. If you were born in 1960s+ you’re living on borrowed time. Since the advent of nuclear weapons we’ve always just been on the verge of someone pushing the button at any time. That’s why all fiction is about crises and dystopia. We are all dead. For some reason that just doesn’t sink in. Hyperreality. Stockholm Syndrome. Denial.

There’s a fundamental problem with the way people understand the world around them – nobody really has contiguity of consciousness, although they think they do. Even among the most radical people out there (that are known), nobody is trying to really build an original worldview from the ground up without relying on pre-conceived notions. They all share this notion of "Well…. WE are all on this planet, and WE just need to…. xyz" then proceed to refer to their pet issue. Lazy. Dishonest. Limited! People just aren’t any good. They’re not like characters from movies, they’re NPCs with very limited information, intelligence, motivation and emotional processing (neurotypical).

Even (if and) when another funny world-scale event happens, i.e. 300 million people dying from flooding/drought, or a nuke goes off somewhere (staged or not), they won’t understand, you could say "I told you so" they will not even acknowledge it, even after it happens. After I realised this, that is when I truly lost hope in "communicating" with proles.

It’s been fun, strange, interesting growing up on this planet. I call this the "post-TV era" – not that people were all that much better before..

I admire the smart people who are willing to go beyond the familiar to search for truths. The ultimate truth is that they all share the same limited worldview, because we’re all bonked. It’s only a matter of where in the universe they got stuck?

There’s an actual term for this perspective (which I can’t remember) that is short and snappy: “flatland view of the world” and it refers to the idea, apparently fashionable already online, that this Earth is as perfect as it needs to be, and that the problems we have are purely man made. We just need to fix the bad people (not the actual, hard-to-fix machinery for global warming they don’t) and put reasonable amounts of money into fighting war with North Korea. And that all the evil and disease is just overmedication and parenting. And all the money saved is redirected to helping the poor and developing other technologies necessary to accelerate into space. Anything that doesn’t fall neatly into the flatlander box should, in some fashion, be explained as random processes and natural selection that prevent us from falling into abyss. “Destructive capitalism” is an appropriate shorthand for flatland. It answers to no higher power, because they don’t believe there is any. You don’t inherit your views from your parents or society – you form them entirely on your own limited, short-attention-span, barely-functional perspective. They have no experience of anything else, outside their own tiny lives. They can’t imagine the suffering of others because most of their attention is already far away, working to pay the absurd rent for this precious little reality for a couple hours or days a day. They are the highest form of selfish thought process the mind can conceive. The only way one could call them weak-minded is in a negative, depressing, insulting sense related to the opposite of strength or courage.

I’ve been calling that reformism and depoliticization. But I think it applies more broadly to any single worldview or political solution. I’m talking about people who make a career out of this shit – Karl Marx, Noam Chomsky, freaking Sam Harris. The stuff you’re seeing (especially on the fringes, like Nazism, blah blah) is the stuff that’s already been invented, and was able/allowed to survive for whatever reason. How convenient, a worldview like Marxism (made in freaking 1848 or something?!), the solution is already there for me! Wow! I don’t even have to do anything! Nobody finds it a little worrying

There’s a saying "those that can’t do, teach" – my version is "those that can’t think, do". Ultimately you are going to have to sacrifice part of your worldview, thought process, etc. because by seeking any kind of professional or real-world approval, and by trying to appear smart, you’re already putting the cart before the horse… Listen to the way their conversations and interviews go. Everything is always "Yeah, and.. ", "Yeah, and.. "… Everyone just goes along to get along.

Of course nobody is going to challenge the fundamental precepts of their own in-group. You’d have to attack everyone, all the time, and only insane people can do that. Luckily, I am insane, and also PG on a certain index (maybe you can guess which) and I just don’t care about stopping points, conclusions, practicality, apparent contradictions, groups, making friends, or entertaining any already-existing concept or method or experience in any form. Just don’t care at all, never have. I really took the "think for yourself" thing to heart as a child. I’m determined to find out what’s going on in this place..

So far, it’s not looking good.

Seeing the obvious consequences is not a negation of intellect. What paranoid people negate is the need for hard proof and a source for every step of their thinking. But that is not intellect, intellectual capacity is what allows you to think abstractly and be able to understand what is logically likely to lead to what. Intelligent people understand that most likely, A leads to B which leads to C. Trained academia monkeys stop at A because there’s no peer reviewed paper and photo proof of B, so C is baseless.

Rifle near door so you can’t get to it if the top is breached by surprise.. Vehicle with gasoline in it near only exit. If vehicle catches fire, the steel trapdoor could become unusable or warped shut. If vehicle is moved by shock or shoved, one way out blocked with no hope of escape. Heat source exhaust will give visible steam cloud from exhaust on any days cold enough to require its use, giving visible evidence someone is present and has the resources for heat. All of these issues can be resolved by placing the shelter away from the home, hiding the door, move the rifle down. Electric heat source running on a battery bank buried near the shelter. One rifle and sidearm for each household member capable of using them.

        >something falls on hatch, dead.
        >someone starts pouring water down your air hole, dead
        >someone builds fire over air hole, dead
        >someone just fills your vents with dirt, dead
        >bomb goes off nearbye and your cheep ass vent has no overpressure valve, you are now hamburger
the good companies that make bunkers strait up tell you if anyone finds your bunker well you are inside it you are bonked.

A bunker is probably not worth the money and ressources unless you are rich.
Just don’t be a scrotebrain and don’t live in a city, have some water/food storage maybe something for heating as well to last you a few months and a gun for defense.

        You’re meant to have:

A – a very strong hydraulic jack to lift the door in the event something covers it.

B – an escape tunnel that leads off from the bunker.

The pod in OP is something of a death-trap.

Use a 12lb bottle jack to open a horizontal shelter hatch.

There’s a British magazine called Subterranea
      >Subterranea Britannica is a UK-woke af society for all those interested in man-made and man-used underground structures and space. Founded in 1974, the society (often known simply as Sub Brit) has grown to over a thousand members. Our interests cover all manner of underground sites, from Neolithic flint mines to nuclear bunkers.
While they mostly cover historical stuff they keep an eye out for anything new and it’s a good place to get ideas
