At the time the logo was made the rainbow was more of a bible thing than a fag thing. I'd imagine at the time Apple was really just thinking about spectra since they tended to be more secular and focused at the time and not into either God or daemons.
Most of the people using it now (especially here) are probably just wishing things were still like that.

You don't understand, Apple is demonic and the rainblow flag symbolises the Noahide Laws (look into it, it's the kike laws that will get us all killed for not worshipping the antichrist).

Signs and numbers rule the world. They've successfully put up a Noahide flag at every damn institution / church. We've been conquered

The three major religions of this planet all revolve around the Noahide laws and that's been the case for 1500 years now. Calm down.

            >You can literally install linux on your macbook but why would you
Because MacOS has become a pajeet-ruined trash.
Another thing I didn't mention is the HUGE latency in using Terminal applications now because they completely changed how they load things which introduced a woefully inefficient JIT system which seems to unload everything even after just using it.

Did Apple ever use x86? I thought they didn't switch to Intel until after they were only making AMD64 chips under license.

That's just what Intel calls AMD64 so they don't get embarrassed by the fact that they went from producing their own internal designs, to being reduced to producing a competitors architecture under license.
Its no wonder that Apple dumped Intel. Failure of a company with no vision for the future other than catching up to its rival's hardware.

Doesn't apple use some custom ARM additions for their chips meaning that you can't virtualize it?

Appajeets broke all VM software with M1/M2 architecture. Windows has to virtualize as ARM instead of X64, many windows apps won't run on ARM.

Having the dock always visible in all monitors.
Being able to drag a window to the side and have it resize to half of the display.
Being able customize hotkeys without a shitty third party program that is slow and crashes and limited.
Having consistent basic hotkeys throughout programs (ex: pressing home and end keys in code editors work as expected, while everywhere else the jump to the start and end of page).
Being able to have zero mouse acceleration without a third party program that does a bad job at it.
Being able to compile without youtube/spotify stuttering.
Having an actual system monitor that shows actual CPU usage percentages.
Being able to alt-tab between windows of the same program without a third party program.
Moving up a directory in the file explorer in a single click.
Having a file explorer that isn't a fucking mess in general.
Being able to change volume when my headphones are connected through the monitor.
Just off the top of my head. I can't wait to quit just so I can get rid of the crapbook they gave me.

            I thought macos just werks?
Autohide is trash, literally doesn't work on secondary monitor when you have a vertical setup and the dock is on the right/left. Even when it is on bottom and it works on both monitors, the dock in the upper monitor hides too quickly before moving the cursor over it. I also don't want to autohide. Why is basic functionality that is available on turd like XFCE is not available on my crapbookpro?
Do you know of a tweak that properly switches between cmd and ctrl, makes home/end key behave consistently (move to start/end of line), and have alt+shift change keyboard layout?
            >it's not perfect.
It is trash and actively harms my productivity even after a year of using it 9 hours a day. This is what happens when the userbase is a cult that will accept anything from their leaders, including bad design, bad workflow, bad functionality.

If you read the whole thing you'll find it also analyses the images with a neural network. Terrible for compute performance especially if you are trying to quickly go through a bunch of images. I find it lags the rest of the system.

It never grew out of being a clone of an OS that basically nobody used, and most of the money going into open source desktop development has gone into either making an original UNIX desktop (Gnome), or a flexible UI kit for hobbyists that generally gets turned into a Windows clone (KDE).
There have been a few attempts to get it more traction, but they seem to have died off when Apple decided once again that they weren't really interested in being a desktop UNIX company, and wanted to go it alone.
