Clothes steamers are the biggest fucking scam in the universe

Clothes steamers are the biggest hecking scam in the universe

Every single fashiontuber tard praises them on how quick and easy to use they are
First off the manu recommends letting it heat up for 20 mins, which is more than it takes to iron my whole laundry
Second it took me another 20 mins and two water tanks to iron a single linen shirt and it still has major wrinkles
With a regular iron it would have taken a minute and would be spotless
For cotton shirts you can achieve the same effect as rubbing out the wrinkles by hand

Am I missing something? What’s the point?

Never mind only have to heat it up for 20 secs. The rest still applies. It seems to work best when pressed against a hard surface, might as well just put it on an ironing board

Oddly enough I’ve has the opposite experience – I used it on an impossible to iron chiffon ruffle skirt – went through the wrinkles like butter it was so satisfying to watch

    Worked at a dry cleaner.
Dry cleaners use steam irons because it’s the only way you can iron some clothes that can’t take the heat from a metal iron.
Steam is also used to get the dry cleaning chemicals out of clothes before we take them out of the machine.
We never "just steam the clothes" that literally does nothing.

    1. get a bigger/better steamer than this small piece of shit
    2. ironing damages your clothing. direct contact to your clothing from a scalding got iron will ruin your garments. steaming is far better. the more expensive steamers shoot out bigger and more forceful jets of steam, so the wrinkles come out.

you’re right, they also leave water stains in your clothes that wont vanish until you wash it.
i just iron my clothes inside out, except for jeans, you wont ruin it unless you’re at max heat with a 10 bucks iron. invest in a good quality and modern iron and you’ll be set.

bought one for $20 on sale at target
heats up in like 30 seconds
    works better than an iron
i just hang my clothes and use it
    are you stupid or something

    >to iron a single linen shirt
did you try one that isnt linen? you know linen is extremely hard to get wrinkles out of yeah?

      >linen is extremely hard to get wrinkles out
No it’s not, it takes no time to iron them out. It’s that linen wrinkles extremely easy.

You have to press it against the garment, instead of holding it at a distance, so hot steam goes directly into the fabric.
Took me some time to realize that
