Anons, I have been watching this series and it is total kino. But I am slightly off put by the fact that all the steppe people speak Chinese.
There were rumors of a Mongolian dub but I can't seem to find anything online. Can a kind anon tell me where I can find this?
>inb4 the normal LULZ knee jerk of claiming that the Mongols were overrated
Don't care
Does this have an English sub?
Yes it is all on YouTube
>watching that garbage instead of the definitive Genghis kino
Genghis killed chuckleheads like you and took your women. You just think about that.
WHAT IS BEST IN LIFE?
Forgetting about mediocre israelitelywood wank
At least it gave them all cancer
>getting this asshurt
LULZ really is full of absolutely irredeemable freaks
its just the oriental posters
Yet look how assblasted you subhumans are
yes, I was so upset, that I wrote five words.
about 15 now
have fun with the brown tidal wave on the west
yeah? what am I at now, charlie chan?
the bottom of the IQ bell curve
>bottom of berr curve
sorry chang, life isn't a standardized test. Alright, what's the wordcount at now?
You're clearly upset enough to reply about the mean post above
I was only being polite anon, what, if somebody replies to you, you just stand there wordlessly and stare at them?
>N-no y-you
China's Pawn only did it because he was still angry about the fact that he was a rapebaby of Modu Chanyu.
Mind numbingly based
>But I am slightly off put by the fact that all the steppe people speak Chinese
Pretend they’re Khitans
Good one
Get the Turkish dub bro, good enough
Doesn't that go for any historical movie not filmed in the language that the people would have actually spoken? How many movies set in ancient Rome are actually filmed in Latin?
Just two that didn't suck. Wasn't even classical Latin, but ecc. and weirdly pronounced attempts at cla. There are some shorter decent Latin language films but even their Latin is wonky. Also that shitty Netflix series but mostly German.
Well get the Mongols to make Genghis Kino. Oh wait, its an impoverished shithole who don't even know their own culture after Sovietization.
There's more Mongols in China than elsewhere lol. Hell the Chinese TV series propelled many of its leading Mongol actors (Baatdorj himself) into Chinese stardom.
Also your movie has an extremely cringe battle scene where Mongols are ebin Ninjas.
>Baatdorj
This dude and the guy who plays Yesugei are total chads
Baatdorj later played Guan Yu lol.
Nice lol. I believe he played Yesugei in the 2007 film Mongol too haha.
apparently the dude is a descent of Chaghatai (I think). Pretty cool he has made a name for himself by portraying his actual ancestors.
Is this from the Three Kingdoms show? I couldn't get into that one. It jumped around too much and there seldom seemed to be repercussions for actions lmao
Nah the Red Cliff movie.
Mongols are actually pretty well represented in Chinese Cinema compared to other minorities. Pic related.
HOLY STEPPE MILKERS
Truly
>How many movies set in ancient Rome are actually filmed in Latin?
Passion of the Christ
thats ecclesiastical latin though. a bit past the classical world's prime
All right OP I looked, I really did. Chinese and Japanese shops don't have them, and I don't know how to reach the Mongolian market. You're right about seeking authenticity. Looks like the struggling tribe still has cultural relevance for their language.
I appreciate your effort, anon. This Mongolian dub was mentioned in some scholarly paper I found about the subject and I think it may just be lost media.
Maybe I should just start a lost media thread on LULZ and let them scour the internet in between their tfwnogf discussion of that newscaster's suicide.
Do you think it would be a disappointment? Like most pro but crap dubs. It was the early 2000s after all.
Idk. You are probably right though, I doubt it would be synced well enough with the other audio levels to be satisfying. To be honest, the Chinese isn't too distracting to make it unwatchable, it just doesnt feel "right" if that makes sense.
Still, the series is total kino though. On episode 7 now and looking forward to seeing the rest.
It was fine. I could hear the distinct Mongol letters said with enough naturalness and emotion as needed. Not like the shitty Russian dubs of other shows which are more obviously amateurish.
If you've made it could you link that lost media thread here?
found this channel, its incomplete tho
go to his channel, its incomplete tho, also no english subtitle.
Dub quality's a lot better than expected. Too bad the audio's shit and explodes every so often.
its prob dubbed by either mongolian or inner mongolian tv stations, my bet is that its dubbed by inner mongolians, considering alot of the actors are ethnic mongols and it uses traditional mongol script instead of Cyrillic
That was my guess too. Mongols have the language, Chinese have the production capability.
But I think they'd use Mongol script either way and use subs for the Cyrillic.
Not bad. Maybe I will just download some subs. Good find!
>chinks making movie about mongols
cringe. it's likely full of lies.
watch this - absolute kino made by true heirs of Genghis - ie Kazakhs and Russians
>it's likely full of lies.
The 2004 series is very faithful to the Secret History of the Mongols.
AFAIK, the Mongols are actually well liked among the average Chinese population because they are seen as hardy and self sufficient.
China has an ideal situation with minorities that have a history of conquering the majority tbh. Manchus and Mongols and strange half-Persian Muslim minorities still exist amongst Chinese society but they’re so few in number, and no threat whatsoever to the Han these days, so they’re seen with indifference, interest or fondness by the Chinese population and their culture freely mixed with the Han’s (Manchu style stereotypical Chinese dress,) etc.
I guarantee though that if Mongols/Manchus/Hui were more numerous it’s be a nightmare scenario of ethnic violence though. India has 200 million Muslims and the inter-religious asshurt with the Hindus has gone back and forth for decades and is recently ramping up more than ever.
>if Mongols/Manchus/Hui were more numerous it’s be a nightmare scenario of ethnic violence though
Probably true. But even if there were more of them, the time of their threats is long past. I mean, it isn't like there is a threat of someone uniting the steppe again........ Or is there???
Do you know of any good books on the latter two?
>I mean, it isn't like there is a threat of someone uniting the steppe again........ Or is there???
If anything the threat is now reversed. I’ll bet you anything we’re going to see tens of millions of Han Chinese flood into the northern Asian steppes as a response to climate change making large parts of China unbearably hot like india is right now. Expect to see Han mega cities spouting up in what is currently frozen barren wasteland in Manchuria or the plains of western Mongolia by 2050-60 or so.
Well, too bad they're intentionally halving their population and letting minorities' increase exponentially.
ah yes because china doesn't have the freedom to genocide and is going the same direction as muttmerica
>Well, too bad they're intentionally halving their population
It had to happen. China faces a severe pollution crises and water and crop shortage as it is, no land on earth was made to reliably sustain two billion people (the Chinese population if the one child policy didn’t happen.) the world should be thanking China on bended knee for voluntarily curbing their enormous population so the rest of the world can fucking eat.
That's made by Mongolian Chinese anon, China has the most Mongolians in the world and almost half of their core territories.
> "Mongol movie" made by Ruski
They can't even distinguish East Asian culture.
I actually do enjoy this film. I believe it was supposed to be a trilogy
Don't mind the dumb wiggers ITT anons. They really are boring low IQ mongrels.
Fair enough.
Are there any others movies like this? Historical films in somewhat obscure languages
It was one of the biggest tv shows in East Asia in the early 2000s.
obscure languages means mongolian. he's not saying the show is obscure.
When are they coming out with a Mongol series where they rape West Asian and white women?
Because I think it'd make for a really good erotic series. The Mongols were really the first to sample every religion, and every race's women.
