chelsea boots

>recommended by every hecking """"""""fashion experts"""""""""
>can only be worn with slimfit jeans

nice recommendations you motherheckers, I am basically stuck to wear the poors man pants with them if I want to not look stupid
I’d had more versatility out of my purchase if I had chosen hecking oxfords

Chelseas look stupid with cuffed and/or skin tight jeans. Just wear normal tapered chinos or trousers that match the formality of the last and leather.

Can’t say it’s the best picture to use as an example, since it was taken while goofing around waiting for everything to be set up. I also should have had this thing fitted properly before the wedding.

Either way, that’s more or less how it looked. For the record, they’re the Duke boot from Thursday Boot Co.

Gross. Wrong last and sole combo for a Tux. Not even mirror shined (probably can’t with Turdsday’s mystery leather)

I looked beforehand and it’s the Cavalier which is considered the "dressier" option, while the Duke is more casual. But I bought them on impulse anyways because they were, like, half price through Poshmark.
But if it’s possible to shine leather without giving up and buying patent leather (which I did try to find), I’d like to hear about it.

Pic related is the best "dressy" picture I could find on Google with the Cavalier boot. Every other promo pic has somebody in denim instead of slacks.

Venetian Shoe Cream is level 1 shine.
Pigmented Shoe cream polish is shine level 2.
Sapphir Medaille D’or hard wax is shine level 3. All work on any leather.

In Mexico we call those botines de charro. They have the last shape of cowboy boots but with the short elastic opening. Closest I’ve seen that aren’t Mexican are the RM Williams craftsman model

someone here in the boot thread once posted that chelseas are only appropriate for women and it has stuck with me every since.

sucks because I liked the convenience of them but I can never go back.
