Cheatcode of life?

How do I treat every person and living being with love and compassion? If I manage to do this, the rest of my life will become incredibly easy. Especially, religious guidance on this is appreciated.

Read all 66 books of the Bible (you have to fund the most accurate translation of the scripture for that). Then connect all the dots. Good luck

A lot of the bible other than simply Jesus's teachings is incompatible with my personal religious values. For example in the old testament there are many values which contradict Jesus's teaching by encouraging hate and violence.

No no no. You understand it the completely wrong way. The Bible isn't a religious book, neither is it a history book. The "laws" in the OT have nothing to do with interacting with people in "real life". Do you srsly believe that the verse about "not wasting seed" for example has to do with nasturbation?
The NT is like a prophetic blueprint with which you reveal the true meanings of the berses and parables in the OT, in order to find Christ and be in Christ and "get saved" etc. But yeah, for that you're gonna have to read and study all the 66 books to succeed

Give one example of the exegesis you speak of, please, to help me better understand. Expand on your interpretation of the verse on wasting seed, for instance, or any other.

Well, I'll assume that you're a noob at this stuff, alright. I'll just give a very vague summary of it.
The most simple name of "'God', the LORD" is "I am" (Exodus 3:14,15).
"I am" is basically the most used word in our everyday lives, right. So thou shalt not use the name of 'God' (=I am) in vain!
If you say shit like "I am a loser, moron, idiot whatever", you're breaking this commandment, also you're breaking the other commandment of not robbing ppl. You are robbing God (I am) thus you get punished by robbing yourself.
"Seeds" are thoughts and prayers, don't waste thoughts on bullshit etc.
            ...

God doesn't want me to to treat others with "love and compassion" he wants me to be a miserable slave being abused and dominated by sadists for eternity and there's no reward for allowing myself to be abused, I will just get abused more.

You are going to hate the answer. Look beneath your feet. You walk on worlds. Destroyer of many. Mover of microbes. Do you breathe? You ingest so many that you hardly count, yet they die in your body and do not bat an eye. Even Buddhist monks, who will not walk on a patio stone if a blade of grass has interseeped. They do this too. You would have to build a perfectly sealed container, remove any contaminates without killing them, inter-splice your gene code with photosynthesis and live off the sun. Also you would have to turn green.

Even this leaf sheep eats plants and any of the microbes on it. It could forever remain stationary with enough sun, but where is the fun in that? And that is why it moves.
Why is it that all the cutest things on this planet are often the most incredibly evil?

Life feeds on life. Try to minimize the pain and be ready to let go. It's all we can do.

In trying to understand "the other" you learn to feel compassion for them
I would not force love, respect or admiration, though.
    Those must be earned.
    Again:
You must try to see life through their eyes, from their perspective. In understanding, there is compassion.
    >compassion
    >: sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it
Try to improve your own mind and body as well as your skillset too.
Being compassionate without the ability to act can be quite frustrating, anon.

It goes even deeper than that. Those microbes too, they war, so this offsets the karmic balance, all of it done for the simplistic answer. "It is fun."
So really, because they all kill, why should you spare the killers? You could break the cycle, but that would stop the real value of that bloodshed.
Entertainment. "Entertainment for who?" you may ask? That's for you to find out. Who knows. You may want to kill that person when you find them too. If you only knew how deep the real rabbit hole goes. Fractals upon fractals. Repetitions atop eternal repetitions. Worlds on top of WORLDS. All stemming from a singular, constantly shifting, source.

Not him, but that sounds limiting and awful *if done against our will.
        It reads as:
        >"I will rape you with love"
        >"You have no choice here, mortal"
I would rather have a choice in the matter.
I would rather not "love" verything since doing so would not only destroy free will, it would ruin the world.
        >"I love it when this man murders"
        >"I love war and death"
        >I love it when foreign nationals wipe out my race, culture and family"
Should we not be tempering "love" with "hate"?
In a perfect world we could *possibly* love everything, but this world isn't perfect.
Maybe in the next world, you can have your cake, and eat it too!

Was in the middle of marathoning FMA while coming across this thread. Actually rewatching this time I'm noticing much more symbolism, both obvious and obscure. Really wondering how much came intentionally from the original author.

Most essentially, with patience, and practice.

When you arw with people, deepen your listening, and extend your sight to tune in to their soul. Treat people with the kindness you would appreciate receiving, and the understanding you too long for. From there you will be aware of what you can do to bring this goodness into life.

The key element.. Your first peace, is to enjoy others joy, and you will be joyful and inspired through this for all the ways... You are an angel and very strong to choose to receive the clarity and wholesome living of this. If you love you serve in this way love will be fulfilled and many cupsnwill runneth over, when you give love it will create more love... Anything you can do for one, you are potentially doing for all.
And one last thing, my admirable friend, LOVE YOU. Always practice the patience, listening and kindess you need for you, and you will be able to bring your best to others.

I love you, peace be with you, anon!

I haven't a clue about love and compassion towards other humans. But they seem to (usually) think my cold indifference is me being a nice person.

My life has been ruined because I wanted to show love and compassion. I would advice anyone to avoid being "kind" as much as they can. Literally saves you from so much shit. Just mind your own business and don't think about other people all that much. It's pure poison and will lead you to social isolation and misery. Be very careful and worry with people in general

Ignore all the negative nancies here. Just listen to your heart, and you will be able to do it. Sometimes our heart forgets itself, but you just have to be gentle with it, and it will know how to love. Sometimes our heart will hold secrets we will have to release, but it will be worth it to swim in the currents of one's own accumulated stresses

You can make the mind sattvic but the path to get there is the exact path to liberation, and that usually takes years. If you want instant results you won't get anything. And even in the sattvic state the ego is free of desires and it's one step away from liberation, so the point is that your ego is almost gone by that point and you're identifying with the silent consciousness.

In other words if you want unconditional love you either attain the sattvic state (purity of mind) or full liberation, where you no longer identify with the body/mind.
