Can somebody explain to me concisely what the appeal is? I just don't get her music at all, particularly her shrieking, and I usually like that sort of thing.

unconscious bias due to the grandpa boyband orrr you just can't get into it which is fine.
but if you haven't tried her 80s stuff i'd stick with that, the banshee screams are more subtle and works better with her alt-pop arrangements vs her earlier rock stuff imo
Is there a non-leftist on the planet now or previously who enjoys her music? I say no.
Why are beatfags so obtuse? She released like 5 albums with totally normal session musicians with no
>LE SCREAMING
or
>LE SHRIEKING
Nearly everything they say about her is an absurd strawman because they're still obsessed with the idea that she broke up the beatfags, when they broke up due to their insane greed
see example:
Listening back to this has only reaffirmed my beliefs. She sounds thin and lacks any range, ironically I'd say she's anything but smooth. Each enunciation is thick and typical of an ESL. If you're into it that's fine, but can you explain why?
Also I'd better add that "thick" refers to the original english description of being thick, which means stupid.
listen to any of her 70s albums and identify the SHRIEKerino meme. it is a pure fabrication
I put on a random 70s album song like you said and got this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsUDKLHO4lI&list=OLAK5uy_ni5V3A0psj9hLg4zOWDR0c1-JqHbMh7bQ&index=8. Just sounds like a ripoff off Big Sky by The Kinks, except with a complete lack of vocal melody for the chorus. I guess my point is that Yokos singing is bad both lyrically and sonically. Some of her arrangements are fine, but that isn't enough to earn respect really.
I like the quasi-melodic bassline on this a lot. Rhythm is too boogie-woogie. Like some goofy jump bluesy admixture of 60's motown and the rolling stones. What do you think of akiko yano?
At your request just tried this:
Intro ounds like the theme to a kid's sci fi show from the '80s. The instrumentals are nice enough, the vocal melodies are fine, but I'll have to admit I prefer to know what the singer is actually saying. Stuff like the guitars and bass are petty basic, so I probably wouldn't listen on a regular basis.
>Intro ounds like the theme to a kid's sci fi show from the '80s.
I get that analogy but I mostly hear some YMO-worship in the intro. The production is basically that late 70's western progressive/AOR-like steely dan during aja sound but I can't lie when I say the dynamics are very smooth. For me it's the folky stuff she put out like her first two albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g23DIlGtX50
Some kabbalistic kikery you wouldn't understand, chud
Did Andy Warhol have a threesome with them or what
yeah she's a witch hack fraud
pure satanist garbage
...did you accidentally post yoko instead of bette davis??
broke up the gayest boy band to ever exist so she's the hero
thing
what does this thread have to do with carpenter? Go back to LULZ.
shes just weird. its very interesting and unlike a lot of music. people like bjork because shes out there and focuses on the art of her music. yoko is the same to me.
but bjork can actually sing though
god i fucking hate women so much lads
why did janny remove the yoko ono ass pic?
idk, the ass was censored so it should have been fine. oh well
There is no appeal. She's famous for having bad music.
you cant understand some one being free and promoting freedom?
What was she free from exactly? The government? Poverty? Musical standards? She's just another cog in the machine, all her "protesting" has amounted to no change in the world. Much like her husband, she was completely impotent in the bigger picture of the world.
i can.
she said yes, when the world said no.
its literally that simple.
