I think the bit of contrail is steering you towards "plane." That's part of why I wanted to see more pics in
-- is the thing, whatever it is, sitting at the endpoint of a contrail a coincidence in that one photo? I suspect it is, hovering things do not tend to leave contrails.
Why would you assume that it is a coincidence rather than the object producing a contrail? Even in the picture you can see an extension on the side that could easily be the illuminated wing of the plane (distorted by low image quality).

Using this thread to say a few weeks ago, I was in bed at night and heard a strange sound outside. I looked out the window and saw something much brighter than a usual plane flying past quickly. I actually went on /x/ on my phone to see if anyone was talking about it, but no one was.
I guess it was just an unusually low plane? With more and brighter lights than usual?
