Buddhism's ultimate reduction is that everything is nothing.

Buddhism's ultimate reduction is that everything is nothing.

In that case why are all the heaven and hell realms described so vastly?

Nirvana is dissolution to the source, so why is there so much stuff in buddhism about karma, being present in the here and now, praying to amitahba, and even Gautama Buddha himself, are actually nothing? There is no samsara? No karma? No pure land?

    >Buddhism's ultimate reduction is that everything is nothing.
That is incorrect, what Buddhism infers is that reality is empty of self-nature. That is different from "nothing", your whole question is based on you misunderstanding a bad translation of a Buddhist concept

          BUDDHISM QUESTION

Thank you my friend, rest in peace.

So nirvana is realising non self through meditation of interdependant nature of all things?

part of it is realizing that everything is fleeting, temporary, illusory, etc. everything lacks real substance, we are never satisfied and we suffer from this. it would be more like recognizing the dependent nature of all things, which is called dependent origination.

If I were you I'd stick to the early stage of Buddhism, that is, the teachings of Siddhartha. Everything else is bogus.

What Buddha is is pointing too is something real. Physiological.

Everything is real. But nothing is also real. It’s in the background of everything and at the center of all. But that’s too metaphysical.

A practical way to understand it is. Human language is empty of meaning, including the word self. But although we can know that the colour red has nothing to do with the word red, we continue using it. Same thing for the self. We know it is a word that indicates nothing. Yet we can’t stop using it. We are in a cycle of serving ourselves. We basically are insane. But functionally insane. We are hallucinating thoughts, even the enlightened thought.

So to summarize, meaning is empty. Language is full. Realization of any of the above enlightened thoughts only gives you an intellectual advantage. And you will always seek to be advantaged. Even the Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed were selfish. We will always be selfish.
There is no such thing as unselfishness, even in self sacrifice

In fact, the world is full, but because of its foundations:
    Infinite space.
    Infinite consciousness,
    Pure, baseless space,
    Neither perception nor non-perception,
cease to exist because of anicca (impermanence).
Your question is very curious, because a monk once asked the Buddha the same question, and that was the answer given, as I recall:
Because each sphere (which is, by extension, infinite) ceases to exist. This allows us to see what is hidden.

just stick to the New Testament if you want the full truth and salvation
buddhism has nothing of that and claims man can reach heaven by himself, which is not true

Buddhist's aren't trying to get to heaven thought, they're trying to escape samsara.
You should probably read both Buddhist and Christian texts then decide for yourself which is right.
Both are right to a degree.

Thomas Ligotti is right. The truth Buddhists point towards is that we are nothing. Meat puppets on disintegrating bones.

I think those people just honestly had an Ego death and confuse the dissolution of Ego with the dissolution of everything.
Instead of realizing that what's left is pure awareness they just say it's nothing.
