Broke college grad needing help

Are there any cheap guides available for young men trying to look decent while on a budget?

Looking to fix pic related. Not looking for callous remarks or pedantry, just need some tips for when I buy new clothes so that I will look more attractive and less autistic. Also beard styling tips are appreciated as well (I seriously don’t want to die alone due to my having a poor appearance)

I don’t know where to start, nor do I know what people like to see on a man. Research is pointless when it’s directionless

Then why post on the fashion board

          you look like shit

I’m aware although I see worse every day

we left the whole oversized dad clothes look behind in 2022. you’d actually have been very fashionable with this last year. now it’s just embarrassing.
          you got two routes:
          1. cotton twill or linen trousers, in earth tones or white, no more hecking jeans. polos and button downs. don’t go outside wearing an undershirt like you did in your pic. some decent shoes.
          2. full rick. walk into darklandsberlin and buy all the rick owens they have on clearance.

Aw cmon man, this is a fashion board, isn’t it?

I don’t know, OP, depends what you like for specific recommendations. Personally I like OCBDs, chinos, polos, which are considered "smart" these days. Not entirely sure what that means but I think they look sharp. Another tip that will change the entire game for you is proportions, personally I always prefer medium rise trousers (pants go to the belly button). I like the look of long legs and shorter torso, so I typically tuck my shirts in and have a belt. See what you like, tucked or untucked, what rise do you like, etc. Best of luck. I’m not sure how much you actually like "fashion" / "style" but if you do, look at inspo and see what you like.

          Thanks guys

Read Andrew Anglin’s guide in the Daily Stormer (self help sunday: fashion is not a sense it’s a science)
Bit antisemitic but gets the job done

Looking a bit juvenile. A bit tighter fit and earth colours or black, white and grey. Lighter color on the jeans or black/white
      An overshirt or light jacket.
Shave if you can’t grow a proper beard and do something about the hair.

Just go on vogue.com or the app I prefer the app you don’t have to pay for membership and look at Male runway shows take inspiration from there and buy clothes that match the aesthetic

first you need to know what do you like? what you think that would make you confortable. ignore all the prescriptive comments here, this is your style and your path. look on pinterest, ssense, vogue runway, whatever, just pick something and build from there. right now you dress as an npc from walmart, but you like grey newbalances and wearing a wristwatch, you might enjoy new americana, like the last few collections from j.crew and aime leon dore. again, do your research and build a new wardrobe from there with new pieces that pair well with what you have, but with a bit of a zing.

Go to the thrift. I’m not talking about vintage shops, but places like the Salvos or Vinnies or Goodwill if you’re american. They’re definitely more expensive than they used to be but they’re still cheaper than buying stuff new. If you do go thrifting then you should hit every shop near you because thrifting is like gambling, sometimes you might find really good stuff other times you’ll find nothing. Generally shops in richer areas have nicer clothes although that’s not always the case. Be patient and be prepared to be disappointed. If you want to know how to dress then you should definitely stop wearing that t shirt. Idk, just dress how you like.
