No, those days are gone. I was playing around with it this past week. The obvious stuff in the potemkin settings menu is pure placebo at this point, and even killing everything I could find in the real settings page and wiping every url, it still calls up google at startup. Although it's down to 1-2 connections instead of a dozen.
