>been listening to over 45 "rock" bands in spotify
>50% of them is pop-punk or pop "metal", the other half is "bad bitch" type of female singer singing over a house beat alla Billie Eilish or zoomies rapping to background guitar noise
Is there any actual rock band nowadays?. The only semi-decent band I've heard was Inhaler, and it's the band of bono's son(and he sings and compose exactly like his father, which is a little bit weird to me)

You think you know metal? Ha! You're nothing but a poseur, a clueless newbie who wouldn't know real metal if it bit you in the ass. You probably only listen to the mainstream stuff, the radio-friendly garbage that real metalheads wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. Real metal is underground, obscure, and brutal. It's not for the faint of heart or the weak-willed. It's for those of us who can handle the darkness, the aggression, the intensity. We're the ones who live and breathe metal, who study the history, the culture, the artistry behind every riff and growl. But you? You're just a wannabe, a fake, a trend hopper. You don't know anything about metal except what you hear on the radio or see on TV. You probably think Slipknot is the epitome of metal, or that Metallica sold out after the Black Album. Pathetic. If you want to be a real metalhead, you need to prove yourself. You need to listen to the classics, the cult favorites, the true masters of the genre. You need to attend shows, support local bands, and wear your battle jacket with pride. You need to earn your stripes, your scars, your bruises. You need to be one of us. But you'll never make it. You'll never have the dedication, the passion, the spirit that real metalheads possess. You'll always be on the outside, looking in. You'll always be a poseur, a wannabe, a joke. So go ahead, listen to your pop music, your hip-hop, your country. Just stay out of our world, our culture, our metal. You're not welcome here.
All Them Witches
Clutch
Baroness
Dead Meadow
Red Fang
>Clutch
>Baroness
>Red Fang
their last songs were like 10 years ago, and baroness sounds like the most normie shit I've ever heard. Red Fang seems to be ok for a metal band but I dont really see them any different from any other metal band
>Dead Meadow
Meh
>All them witches
Yep, this one hits the spot, but they've put already 4 albums and they dont seem to be very popular, or have any important single.
why are you concerned with them being popular, who gives a damn
I want my woodstock 69 and be tripping balls to some sick bands of talented musicians and poets with two qt hippie chick at my side while we think of an utopian future that's never going to happen.
So your retarded. Thanks for clarifying.
oh wait i just thought of more
Graveyard
Fatso Jetson
Wolf People
>baroness sounds normie
i wholeheartedly disagree. red, blue, and yellow and green are fantastic records. i think purple could have been better and i haven't listened to grey yet, but i still have high hopes.
>red fang sounds like any other metal band
they are hardly metal, just hard rock and maybe even stoner rock.
oh wow, 45 bands? clearly that's enough to declare music dead
>Is there any actual rock band nowadays?
yeah I'm dropping some shit later this year
Stick to math rock, wheezerfag
Last rock band of the 2000s is The Devil's Blood as far as I'm concerned
The Vintage Caravan is the only good one
>XIII
>3TEETH
>Ocean Grove
>Charcoal Tongue
>Terror Universal
>Vimic
>3Teeth
aka baby's first industrial band
Weezer had a golden age 2020-2022
LULZ can't say rock is dead when this exists
Oh Sees because Dwyer is unironically one of the greatest rock guitarists ever. Also try Elder, Plosivs, Gospel's album last year was great. You're not really gonna find anything mainstream tbh. Its all pop with synths mimicking guitars. Now that I think about it, Paramore might be the only band on the Hot 100 where the members are younger than 35 and they play bass, drums, guitar, with no autotune. That used to be the bare minimum which is a scary thought.

you must be underage, because you don't know how to look for good music.
I think OP means new rock bands, not already established ones that have been around for years.
>Is there any actual rock band nowadays?
nah
GVF is the closest thing you could call modern rock but theyre cringe riff stealers
red vox, specifically their album another light
>inhaler
>decent
god this reminds me of the gen x radio listeners who hate anything that came out in the 2010s (the era of foster the people, glass animals, alabama shakes, kurt vile, royal blood, interpol doing kino shit around el pintor, spoon being spoon still, against me, pierce the veil, etc), but now the only 10s they play in san diego is boring ass cage the elephant and the black keys because "they're rock and roll man!", because people forget alt rock is a subgenre of alternative, a radio format that is genreless but mostly guitar-centric (Which exists in many songs today, literally a lot of indie chicks like Boygenius, Clairo, Snail Mail, Momma, etc have an indie rock sound mixed with indie pop (Which fits alternative because its indie), or synthpop-based (Mitski, Japanese Breakfast, which is 80s-reminiscent so it also fits), and post-punk/pop punk bands like Turnstile, IDLES, Fontaines DC, Murder Capital, etc, which are also fitting for alternative and is justifiable for it to be on an alternative playlist or on the radio compared to garbage like AJR, Imagine Dragons, Machine Gun Kelly and emo trap (Which spotify is guilty of putting on their alt playlists too since it charts)
I swear to god if this 2020's potential boom for alternative dies and all people look back at is the same few 80s-90s acts and "MUH INHALER IS THE BEST" i'm gonna be so pissed because there's a lot of good stuff but THE big problem of this rock/alt is dead debacle has always been that the industry doesn't focus on the underground enough for normies who still rely on top 40 charts (So, older people) or people who want to act like music was so much better before they were born (Which I feel music has always been awesome), that you have shit like the shitty billboard rock charts of 2010s being panic! solo act pop music and imagine dragons, even though from experience of listening to local stations that are decent this was not the case.
