>tfw regularly get compliments on how amazing my hair is, apparently I'm in the like top 1% of hair genes
>even with it in a ponytail I still get compliments
>"there's women who wish they had hair like you" etc.
It stings a little but I guess I'll take it

Same. Family and even strangers in the street have told I had really nice hair. Idk what they see in it, it's pretty terrible.

      literally have both of these
people comment on my hair, talking about how its a great volume and, when freshly cleaned, curls nicely. stuff like "oh whats your care routine?

meanwhile, my mom and grandmother both hate me for having long hair and constantly ridiculed me, saying i could never get a job, it clogs the shower (despite them, and my sister having long hair)
my mom would go behind my back and make the hairdresser cut my hair short when i'd go when i was younger, despite me always wanting long hair.

          >Damn that's fricked up
yeah, me and my mom barely speak now tho and i havent cut my hair besides trims since she stopped so whenever we do see each other she has to deal

Yeah. I got the short haircuts, too. Always told "You don't take care of it!" "If you would take care of your hair like your friend, then I would let you grow it out."
I was never smart enough to realize that my mother was an idiot. My hair looked terrible because of her.
It's my fault, too. Hairdressers convinced me that my hair needed lots of shampoo. I was gullible.

          >Always told "You don't take care of it!" "If you would take care of your hair like your friend, then I would let you grow it out."
          EXACTLY SAME THING
luckily she didnt shave my head, the rule was "ears have to be showing" so i ended up with a bowl cut sorta thing, trying to get maximum hair length possible

I was told by a girl that my hair was really nice and that I should get it cut off because someone would make a wig out of it
Don't know how to feel about that

a woman told me she personally wanted to cut off my hair to use as a wig.

    kinda related since hair
    >growing up, always more interested in girls hair styles/haircuts than boys (literally didn't like a single type)
    >forced to get really really shorts boys haircut since boy
    >haircuts always kinda traumatic growing up

huh... only this and a multitude of other indications.
if only where was some way that I could have figured out that I have trans thoughts earlier.
