Wow, thank you God. This changes my whole perspective about life. Thanks for this earth shattering revelation no one else could come up with and had to be divinely inspired.
sure, but i cant think of anything deep from the Bible. The entire message of the Bible is that you should love God because Heaven will be so great or generic "sinners are stupid poopoo heads LOL".
Not a Christian but your representation of Christian theology is profoundly reddit-tier. You come off as a 12 year old questioning God for the first time in your life.
>your representation of Christian theology is profoundly reddit-tier.
i get responses from christians like this all the time. But Christians never tell me a passage in the Bible they consider deep or what the true meaning of Christianity is. And believe me, after shitposting on this board for years, ive read a ton of bible verses christians post. Its not like this is my 1st day here.
I bet you cant even say whats specifically wrong with saying the entire message of christianity is >love God because Heaven will be so great.
Ecclesiastes, Job and John are all peak LULZ. You don't even need to cite specific verses from them (though you can) but Ecclesiastes specifically is a profound portrayal of the human experience and the relationship of Man to the world he is a part of.
okay? But its still fundamentally Love God so you will rewarded heavily in the after life. If Heaven didnt exist, the entire message of the New Testament would collapse. The apostles in the New Testament tell christians to give away all their shit, remain a slave, dont worry about money, because heaven is just around the corner.
Whether it is or isn't, what do you think is going to improve in your life or anyone's life by holding to this view? This is a completely autistic thing to even mention. What use is your head knowledge? You don't do even a fraction of these things - yet you think you somehow are above it all for simply making intellectual assertions about anthropology or something. In the end, it's your own life on the line if you don't follow it. It's not some trivia contest.
Lets see how well you do it then. The world will never lack needing more good. You'll be appreciated, if you can live up to it.
Christianity isn't just for sitting around and talking, or sitting at the feet of some guru for your own therapy, but actualizing and putting what he said into practice. It is the Kingdom of God. Not a religion. With a King. There's no space that God doesn't want to invade and no area of life that Kingdom shouldn't be reflected in.
Even you need good in your life. You wouldn't be such a bitch, for one. Happy, fulfilled people don't act like any of you. And it starts with good things around them too. You just didn't have it. And it isn't your fault. But to keep doubling down on negative shit is your fault.
>The world will never lack needing more good.
You assume that you have all the knowledge of whether your help is needed, and that your immediate help is the best help.
You do not take account of the situations when suffering makes people grow, and when your help makes everything worse. Sometimes the best help is to not help.
But that would not provide you with that feeling of butterflies in your stomach (you would feel like shit from such a help). Isn't that right, you dopamine drug-junkie?
I was just gonna post this
Just take a look at the world today and all the evil and depraved shit going on
Humans have a hard time internalizing that message

You mean like the corrupt shit that goes on in 3rd world shitholes that are all overwhelmingly turning Christian?
Well I mean societies as a whole don't treat people very well. On a personal level most people try to be good but as a whole pretty much all societies have failed to be good to people.
The western capitalism system worked well from the end of the war to the 90s but obviously its now gone to shit, people are more miserable now then ever

You think LULZ is somehow above reddit? Tell me about the Made for BBC thread you've got planned.

The idea of loving god takes many forms

You find this concept basic because of Jesus’ sacrifice in the cross you ungrateful dumbass. It wasn’t always like that.
How did it used to be?
Wrong. Most of biblical morality is copied from pre-existing southwest asian law codes.

The Christians here are some of the most snippy hair trigger motherfuckers I’ve ever talked to, and half of their long posts read like manifestos

If you look around it clearly isn't a very obvious message to most people
