Authors and Tobacco

Why did all the prolific philosophers/authors smoke pipes and cigars? I went to a cigar lounge to see whether smoking one would increase my focus, but I found the taste and smell of the smoke too distracting.

What gives? Am I just not smart enough to “get it”?

Cigars were not very common among writers ever. For the longest time, the pipe was the standard. In the 20th century, cigarettes became the standard. Nowadays there is no standard because there is no literature and you are not talented enough to change that; however, I suspect Zyn to become the next standard.

Plenty of writers smoked cigars, but they became things for special occasions in the late 19th/early 20th since cigars are one of those thing which tend to either be terrible or on the pricey side. Pipes were big mid 20th.

If tobacco is not providing you a stimulant effect than you are probably addicted and the calming effects are that of removing craving.

According to google nicotine is a stimulant only at low doses. At higher doses it’s a relaxant. For most smokers cigarette is something to relax with, when you need a cigarette it’s not to get high but to calm your nerves.

I was a smoker for years btw pipe cigar and cigarettes did it all

There is plenty of lit. Black, trans, gay feminist. Meek lit.

Talent is not a prerequisite, you just have to fuck the publishers.

A stimulant that somehow also relaxes and stimulates creativity. It's pretty obvious.

Eat before you smoke and have a drink while you smoke. Average robusto should take around 40 minutes, maybe more if you are writing. Also, vape shops are not cigar lounges, if you enter the humidor or the lounge and it smells stale or unpleasant, the place is shit.
